Reverse Diet

I don't know if you've heard about Trisha Cunningham's new book The Reverse Diet Solution, but I'm going to give it a try.  I've been feeling like I need to change something up in my diet, and I think this may do the trick.

The basic idea is that you eat your biggest meal at breakfast, a medium meal at lunch, and your smallest meal at dinner.  I don't know about you, but this is exactly opposite from what I have been doing.  I've been saving over half my allotted WW points/calories for dinner and even after dinner.  Subconsciously, I knew this was not a good thing, but I was so scared of the thought of being hungry at the end of the day that I got into the habit of saving food up.  Then I'd eat eat and go to bed full.  After about six months of changing my eating habits, I think I'm ready to kick it up  a notch.  It's going to take some extra planning to be sure I have things ready to go in the morning before work, but I'm really looking forward to starting the day on a full stomach.  I'm going to give it a try for a month and see what kind of results I get.  I'd be interested in hearing if any of you have had any experience with this.

A couple products I recently found:

Ballpark Turkey Franks: only 1 WW point! - NO FAT!  Put a little cooking spray in a pan and fry up till toasty,  Yum!  I was really missing hotdogs.  Be prepared though - color, taste, and texture are different from regular hotdogs.

Wonder Wheat Bread Light (sorry they don't have this on their site yet):  only 1 WW point for 2 slices!  Great taste and texture.

Take a chance and make a change in your life today.  Sometimes we hold on to things we don't really like just because they are familiar.  Start with something small - white bread to wheat bread.  You'll be amazed at how you'll gain confidence to push out and make some serious alterations in your life.  It feels great!

Reverse Diet

I read about this in one of the many magazines I get. I think it makes good sense. Did you order the book? I am interested in knowing your opinion after you read it.

Queen for lunch

I've always heard - eat like a king at breakfast, a queen at lunch and a peasant at dinner.  I haven't completely adopted this policy either but I have found that eating more during the day keeps me from binging in the evening.  If I eat a bigger lunch, I can go home and eat a bowl of cereal for dinner.  I try to only have one big meal a day and its usually lunch.

Reverse Diet

I have heard about this.  It seems like a good idea.  I too try to save up my points for dinner.  Sometimes I end up having points left over because I can eat them all up at the end of the day.  I could use more in the morning because I normally get hungry at 9:30am.  Let me know how you do on it.  If I hit a plateau, I might try it too.

I saw that

I read about the lady who created this diet in People magazine a month or so ago.  Sounds interesting.  Thanks for all your posts on my blog.  I love reading yours and I totally agree - celebrate every small accomplishment!  Have a good day!

yum

Tried your green beans for supper the other night!  They rock!  DH scarfed them, too!

French Fries scream at me too! LOL

Thanks for your post on my blog.  I haven't heard of this book but it sure sounds interesting!  I can't wait to hear what you think of the new way to diet from this book.  GOOD LUCK!  I'll def be checking back in to see how your doing!!  :o)

Makes sense to me

Hey Lady, thanks for stopping by my page. Yeah, I've finally made it up to 3 miles. Running feels great, good luck to you in your running endeavors.  2 miles is great!!! Now, about the reverse diet. It makes perfect sense to eat more calories in the early part of the day and gradually reduce them as the day goes on. Especially if you're working out and/or running in the mornings. I guess I just need to get mentally beyond the idea of eating a chicken breast, steamed veggies and something sweet for breakfast. Something that I have tried on the weekends is to cut up a chicken breast that I've grilled, scramble egg whites with reduced fat cheese and stuff it into a lightly toasted whole wheat pita. That is some good stuff! Yummy, but I don't have that much time in the mornings during the morning to cook the eggs (excuse). I'll figure something out, I'm thinking about buying that book myself.

Keep going...

Keep running...
