Greetings
We hope you all have been well this year. Christmas is a great time to keep in touch.
DH started a new job in March. He still enjoys volunteering at the annual AirSho at Ellington Field, especially now that Ds1 is helping him out. They make quite the fuel team.
I occasionally sub for the preschool, averaging thee days a month. I split my time volunteering at three schools. I took up quilting and finished a t-shirt quilt for ds1, using some of his elementary and middle school t-shirts (two quilts to go). I am taxi-ing the kids to and from activities. On October 9, I celebrated one year lifetime member in Weight Watchers.
Ds1 just turned 16, has passed his driving test and will get his official license over Christmas break. He has had no time to get it before that time. He is playing basketball on the sophomore team. They won first place in a sophomore tournament in the district. He participates in the service group called Interct. He is an altar server at church. He has basketball training twice a month . He is working one day a week at Kumon. He enjoyed volunteering at the AirSho, at church for summer classes, and at the R.O.P.E.S. course in the district.
Ds2 is 13. He finished playing football. He performed in the annual Lip Sync show with Theatre Arts. He played a lawyer in the last school play. He has participated in the Debate team. He hopes to make the school's Science Olympiad team. He is an altar server in our church. In the summer, he was able to volunteer at our church as a teacher helper. He also spent a week at the University of Texas football camp. He and his friends go a taste of the dorm life, which they seem to enjoy quite a bit.
Dd is 10. She made one of the Destination Imagination teams for her school. She participated in the R.O.P.E.S. course with her class and her team. It is a team building experience with low and high elements, which are all challenge by choice. She enjoys tumbling at Cypress Academy. She is a Girl Scout and has joined an awesome troop. She was able to experience Girl Scout camp at Casa Mare this summer and is talking about going again this coming summer. She is also an altar server. She is learning to crochet.
Have a wonderful Christmas and a blessed New Year.
