Breaking Up With My Weight-Friend
Extra thirty pounds is like dating a boy I want to kick in the crotch because he's obnoxious, overbearing, controlling, stubborn and embarrassing. My weight is exactly like crotch guy. I'm ready to break up with my "weightfriend" because I've had enough. It's out of here.
I lost 30 pounds three years ago and I've kept it off. These last 30 pounds have been an on-again-off-again relationship for me. I get mad, I lose 10 pounds, I get comfortable, I gain the 10 pounds back. Ech. The cycle is mentally draining and emotionally damaging.
Since getting married two months ago, I've become lazy and my weight-friend has taken over. My clothes are tight, I'm snoring unusually loud and my overall self-esteem has been ambushed. My husband supports me but he supports me verbally instead of supporting me with action. I tried to organize Team Weight Loss! between us (his doctor said he could lose about 20) but he's not into it. So I'm on my own on this one.
I'm breaking up with my weight-friend. It's SO over.
