Hell Bed

Yesterday my new bed was delivered. It was suppose to go upstairs where there is a large room, an office and a full bath. After cleaning like a banshee the night before, the thing would not make the first 45 degree turn of the enclosed stair well. I took down the banister. My husband and I twisted and turned the footboard to no avail. So last night we disassembled a full size bed and carried each pieces-part up the stairs. There was one moment when the full size box springs got caught in that tricky turn but after much shoving and moaning it went. If I couldn't get a bed up there, I was going to have a mental breakdown. The scariest moment was when we pushed a King size matress over the the top railing so that it could faill down the stairs. Like a wrestling a pig in the mud, sooner or later you realize that the pig likes it. Much dust was stirred in the process. To make a long story short, we worked from 6:00 until 8:30 moving, disassembling and assembling furniture. Out of sorts still, the dresser and chest that match the upstairs bed are downstairs. The new bed is very large and the downstairs bedrooms are not. It now takes up 3/4 of the entire bedroom. Anyhow, I feel like Henry VIIIth when I sleep in it. More good news is that we can all be a family once more. The two of us can fit comfortably with the one greyhound who lodges herself horizontally in the middle. There's even leftover space for the cats whenever they gain enough courage to join us. I'm Henry the VIIIth, I am. That was my workout.
