Before After

Out and About

Yesterday, my husband, daughter and I went to the aquarium. I typically have been avoiding these types of situations but with my "new life" I decided to give it a try.

Well, it was very hot and we had to wait in a very long line. We did not let it discourage us. We waited and waited. Then I walked back to the parking lot to get my daughter her stroller. I was proud that I did it and did not complain. I actually offered.

Once inside, we did not miss an inch of the 220,000 foot facility. Then came lunch. Beyond belief, I bought a salad and water. And for the first time I did not feel deprived or embarrassed.

When I came home and took off my shoes, my feet and legs were very swollen. It was painful and itchy all at once. I soaked them in ice.  I am better now but still sore. I guess this is where the -no pain no gain- theory comes in.

Lastly, I stepped on the scale this morning and NOTHING! No number no noise, nothing. This is the 3rd digital scale that I suppose my big butt broke

Now I am on a mission to find a "regular" scale that goes up high enough for my weight without breaking my pocketbook. Any suggestions?

:)

Sounds like you had a fabulous day!!

Have you considered going scale free for a while?

Maybe weighing at your doctors or something once a month?

...

WELL DONE at the aquarium, especially in that heat. I know what you mean about feeling good when you offer to fetch something, and honestly not mind doing it. That shows a real change in attitude for the better.

I'm really impressed you ordered salad and water. I'd want a reward for doing the exercise etc, but really eating healthily and getting that exercise was the very best reward you could have.

(((hugs)))

Scale

My husband and I both have been toeing the 300 lb mark for a while, yet this scale has never failed us.  http://tinyurl.com/lvausr

But also, another suggestion might be to forget the scale for a while and focus on lost inches.

BTW, I applaud your efforts at the aquarium!  That sounds like a tiring day!  It was a true test of your willpower and you passed with flying colors!  :D

Well done you!

Thats fantastic the added walks back to the car all add up and burn loads of calories = lbs go you! and to stay healthy at lunch was a great acheivement you should be feeling really proud of yourself... hope your swelling goes down fast! drink loads of water and keep moving gently and itll go down!... my digital scales didn't go high enough either and I broke them lol.... so my dr weighs me fortnightly and inbetween I measure myself... Im getting weight watcher scales next week as a reward for losing enough weight that i can use them without breaking them!

ww scale

i have a glass scale that is weight watchers.  i weigh around the same as you, so i wanted to get a scale that could handle all of me :)

when you pick a scale, make sure the maximum weight goes up to 350 pounds and you should be alright.  you can get a decent scale for $30 at the big box stores.
