Feb. 2010 update

Hi EP friends. Just a quick update for February since March is right around the corner. I've been doing well! I weighed myself on 2/18 and I was 210. As you can see, I'm not losing again yet but I'm holding steady. I have mixed emotions about that. Happy that I am at least able to maintain while I'm on the road this much for work. And motivated to get more weight off, which will only put me closer to my goal. What I've been doing is working out (when I get the chance) and eating better.

Mostly my workouts consist of walking on an incline (when on the treadmill) or a combination of walking and jogging intermittently (when not on the treadmill). I also still do the simple weights routine (5lb dumbbell). I'm thinking that to see some results I'm going to have to A) work out more often-- right now I might get 3x a week due to travel and B) switch up my routines. It's hard to do without a gym membership (something I'm considering doing again).

Also, about a month ago I bought a book called 'Counting Calories for Dummies' which has really helped me on the road. Not a lot of things in there that I can order fast-food wise but I've gone through the entire book and highlighted the meals/dishes that are lower cal/lower fat, etc. and I keep it in my purse. I've found it harder to order a 'BACONATOR' at Wendy's knowing that it's like 1,000 calories. :-) I even know what to order at Starbucks in case I HAVE to have a caffeine fix (Tall Skinny Vanilla latte- 90 cals, I think)... I also use http://www.calorieking.com as well for a resource. I'd like to say that I'm keeping track of every calorie and staying under 1,500 a day but the honest truth is that I'm keeping a little journal of what I eat to keep me accountable and nothing more. Haven't gone hardcore into calorie counting although I am seriously considering it.

I still have my goal of 165 lbs. But right now it is easier (mentally) for me to focus on my short-term goal of onederland. Even if that's just 199. I'm going after it. It's time for me to see the number on the scale go down and my dress size go down as well. I'm ready. I hope that all of my EP friends are doing well. Please drop me a line to let me know how you're doing.
