It's Sunday, our first day of the week here. The sun is extra bright, as usual, too bright in fact. I did 20 minutes of stretching in the morning plus arm curls with a two-pound dumbell in each hand.
Last week - week 3- has been good. I have been able to do my basic aerobics routine almost every day. Although the scale didn't budge, I'm still pretty happy. I took my measurements and discovered that I have lost fat from my biceps and thigh areas! I am starting to get in shape!
Anyway, today I had the usual heavy, traditional Indian/Pakistani breakfast: wholewheat flat bread and stir fried vegetables - cauliflower and green peas, and a cup of tea. I really don't worry about how much I eat for breakfast, as long as it's healthy. It's the most important meal of the day; and I have the entire day to burn the food I have consumed.
I had homemade sandwich for lunch: cucumber, tomatoes, lettuce, low-fat cheese, and some left over minced beef.
I only worked for 20 minutes on the elliptical trainer, but I'm glad to have lost 400 calories :) I can't believe I can cover 6 km in less than 30 minutes. If only the weather outside was pleasant, I would definitely go cycling. By the time I got off the trainer to take this photo, the speed counter went 0.00, of course, hehe. But I maintained a constant speed of 17 - not too fast.
Looking forward to a great and healthy week number 4!
Hello, everyone. I have been pretty busy lately with my teaching job, which initally started out as a part-time commitment, and has now become an almost full-time job. I'll try to get back to my three-times-a-week shcedule soon. I like it that way.
Anyway, I found these videos online and wanted to share them with you. I really haven't done these exercises yet, but determined to start them tomorrow. Friday is my rest day :)
Sunday is my weigh in day, so I checked yesterday. I lost 1 lbs.
I was supposed to lose 4 lbs by now, but I lost 3 lbs. I guess I'm ok with that - with the sun stroke and periods to disrupt my routine, not to mention the pizza and strawberry pound cake over the weekend - I still did fine.
Hubby and I went to Sharjah Aquarium, which opened to public viewing just last week. It was an awesome experience.
Also, my periods started today. I usually do not exercise during the first day because of excessive cramping. I do not find it comfortable to work out. But we walked a lot today, so I'm happy.
We had Chinese food for dinner - vegetable noodles and some dumplings. Very healthy stuff.
Finally, weekend is here and I can't wait for Hubby to return home from work, so we can go out for dinner.
I watched some random youtube videos on basic aerobics, and was totally into it for almost forty minutes - with a 10-minute break to catch my breath.
No elliptical training today. I just didn't feel like it today.
Did lots of arm curls and squats. I badly want to get my arms and thighs trimmed - as soon as possible.
BUT, I am going to eat pizza tonight - with loads of cheese and pepperoni. I will worry about the calories tomorrow. Tonight, I want to give into my cravings.
I felt so much better yesterday, so I got back to my exercise routine. I kept a bottle of Gatorade with me - water alone isn't enough. I was on the elliptical for 20 minutes, and made sure my pulse rate was between 120-130.
I also did the Hip Hop Abs of Shaun T, for 10 minutes, and I totally love it. I just played a super fast, fun song, and exercised away! I was perspiring all over, and felt so rejuvinated.
Thank you for being with me, I really appreciate all the support I can get :)
Feeling extremely dehydrated and weak since yesterday.
Hubby had to go to work earlier than usual, so I had to take a cab. I had to wait 30 minutes before I found one. I wasn't even directly in the sun. There was ample shade where I stood. Still, the heat took its toll on me.
I had been drinking Gatorades and Isostars, which helped a great deal. No appetite to eat anything yet, and the headache, oh it's horrible!
Therefore, I hadn't been exercising since yesterday. But I think I'll be fine and back on track tomorrow.
Today has been a busy day. I had to go pick my Mother from the airport. She's in town for a month-long vacation. So happy to have her around. Cleaned the bath tub. I always have a hard time cleaning that. And went out to buy our weekly groceries. Hubby joined us in the supermarket, came in straight from work.
Ever since we got married, we have always dined out during Thursday evenings - that's a weekend here. He LOVES pizza, and craves to eat it at least once a week. Today, however, I have convinced him to eat something healthier - shawarma.
Shawarma is made by placing strips of meat or marinated chicken on a skewer and grilled for a whole day.
The meat is rolled on the skewers, then pieces are sliced off when the meat is ready, onto a circular tray which is normally placed below the skewer.
The meat is then served when hot.
The meat can be placed between pita bread and to make a sandwich or it can be rolled up in lafa (a sweet, fluffy flatbread) together with vegetables and a dressing.
Work Out: I did my usual stretching exercises, arm curls, squats, and 20 minutes on the elliptical machine.
I have accomplished another task, the bedrooms. They both look clean and organized now. Although the closets would need extra work. Hubby plays an important role in disorganizing the closet. And he just loves leaving the hangers in different directions.
I did 20 minutes on the elliptical trainer today! Moreover, this morning, I did 20 minutes of arm curls and squats.
I ate 1/3 of the chocolate bar Hubby brought for me. So, no juice for me today. Instead of my regular tea, I had green tea instead.
And I checked my weight at around 8 pm, that's an hour ago: 158 lbs. I lost 1 lbs in 3 days?! I rechecked at least 6 times before I was convinced.
I'm glad today wasn't just-another-day-wasted type of day.
