Well, the bad news is...I didn't lost any weight this week, the good news is....I didn't gain any weight this week either! I knew this day was coming, when I wouldn't continue to drop 1-2# consistently and I'm strangely okay with it.
I know that most of it is due to the change up in my workouts this week, but I'm sure that I will see long term results with the workout I've been doing. It is a little frustrating to be that close to 10% and not make it!
Okay, so I said I would report on how the workouts went this week...My plan was... I actually did....
Friday - 45 mintues cardio (at reatreat) did it! Stairmaster and walking on treadmill!
Saturday - day off
Sunday - 45 minutes 2 miles Fat Burner walk on treadmill did it!
Monday - Walk 5k on Treadmill in under 60 minutes, do 35 minutes toning/strength training 5k walk on treadmill in 56.5 minutes(a new record), 20 minutes strength dvd.
Tuesday - AM - Cardio 1/2 hour on treadmill, PM - strength training 1/2 hour, cardio 1/2 hour did Jillian's new 30 day shred dvd...hard!
Wednesday - AM - Cardio 30 minutes, PM - if nice...walk outside with stroller 45 minutes. did Jillian's new 30 day shred dvd...legs were sore today! Chased Jacob around the yard several times!
Thursday - AM - strength traning 1/2 hour, PM - walk 3-4 miles after weigh in. did 30 day shred and 15 minute .7 miles on treadmill in AM...evening...walked 5 miles in 84 miles around Mason with friends!
So, overall not too bad, I need to get more cardio in this week, and we'll be pretty busy all weekend, so I should get lots of steps in!
So, my mom and I have been going to this Women's Retreat through our church for years and I had one of those aha! moments this weekend. We got done Friday night and headed back to our hotel room around 9:30 p.m...Now in years past, we might have sat in the hot tub, sat around with friends and ate lots of lots of snacks (not the healthy kind). This year? We went down to the fitness center and worked out together for 45 minutes, then went back to our room and had some fresh fruit. Did I miss the junk food time and just sitting around? NOT A BIT! Who knew that working out and fruit work be my highlight of the weekend!
So I figured out last week that I was 5.2# from my 10% goal and I was thinking today, wouldn't it be cool if...I lost half this week and half next week...and wouldn't you know...when I weighed in...I lost exactly half 2.6# this week! I keep bracing myself for the eventual even week or plateau or even a gain, but it hasn't happened yet!
My plantar facitis started to flare up again this week, but I was still able to get in about 3 hours of cardio, 30 minutes of strength training and an hour of gardening and weed pulling. I hope that it doesn't cause my exercise to eventually become problematic, but I'm taking it one day at a time.
Last week's goals:
-Start wearing pedometer again (wore it most days) - this was not a high step week most days, but my eventual goal is 15,000 steps a day.
-Strength training 3x (actual 1x)
- 45-60 min of cardio each day (actual 3 hours total -30 minutes most days)
...have I thought that I might actually make it to a goal that I set weight wise. I figured out today that I have a little over 19 weeks until I wanted to get to my mini goal of being below 200 pounds. And I only have 19.2 more pounds to lose...I can easily lose an average of 1 pound a week if not more (I've been averaging 2.5# a week) <I know realistically it will slow down>.
However, I am so psyched that I actually know I'll be able to make it to my mini goal and maybe even early enough to start on the next mini goal!
Went for a 1/2 hour 1.5 mile walk after dinner with DH and DSon, it was so nice out..still in the 70's...I love spirng weather and can't wait for it to stay for good!
So I said yesterday that my goal is to be able to get down to walking a 5k on the treadmill in 55 minutes. Yesterday it took me 61 minutes, this morning I did it in only 60 minutes...getting quicker already and it wasn't that much harder! I can do this!
Oh yeah, we went to Pizza Hut tonight for dinner and I had a 6" Veggie Lovers pizza, it was so good and so worth it, my first "real" pizza in over 7 weeks!
The good...I did the 5k program on the treadmill this morning with incline and all and finished the 5k just walking in 61 minutes...I think my goal will be to pare it down to 55 minutes by the end of the month.
Got Jacob's hair cut for the first time today, he's such a cute little man now.
The bad...Went to Ruby Tuesday...knew I had 16 points left so I thought I'd have the broccoli cheese soup along with my salad...the bad...the soup is 11 points!!!!!!! It was good, but I don't know if it was that good!
The ugly...we decided to get cake and ice cream on the way home for DH's birthday...I only had a small piece of cake and a scoop of ice cream, but wowzah...12 points I figured out....
So that puts me 11 points over for the day...and doing another long workout tomrorow morning to feel better about the day's treats.
Well, apparently one day of craving junk food doesn't amount to a bad week overall! I lost 2.8# this week, for an over all total of 18 pounds! I can't believe it! 18# in 7 weeks! This is so encouraging! I'm really glad I made the committment to do some extra workout time this week, it certainly paid off! Best of all, only 8 more pounds to get to my first 10% goal.
I don't know what it is about today, maybe it's PMS. I started the day off great, dropped my son at daycare, went and got a few groceries...no junk food, ate breakfast, walked for 45 minutes on the treadmill and had lunch and visited with a friend and all I could think all day was ice cream, chocolate...granted they've all been low points and I'm 'not over for the day, but I'm sure craving the junk! It must be hormones, argh! Oh well, tomorrow is another day, just happens to be Weigh In day! Ick!
