Thoughts/Comments: I suppose I have gotten enough rest for my knee.It hurt just a bit, but it was really fine.I need to get back to the training, this is it.One month to go.Anyway, it was super packed. My best friend Annah came and scooped me and we parked in the south loop.We got over to the race start area and it was like sardines. There was no way I was gonna find Lou and Meg, my summer running buddies. We talked on the phone, but I never saw them. After we FINALLY hit the start line, I didn’t see my friend Annah until after the race either. She’s way faster than me.It was a nice race.I couldn’t help but think that the last time I ran up Columbus Drive to State Street, it was nearly 90˚ the day of the Chicago Marathon!I stopped to get Gatorade twice, walking only to drink and then I kept going.I also noticed that my right foot was completely numb by mile 3, I probably tied my shoes too tight.I decided that since it was just an 8K, I wouldn’t stop.It was really good to get out there and run a race, I’m looking forward to another running season in Chicago, but once the weather gets a little nicer! Oh, as I was passing through the finish line, I kept hearing someone on the megaphone yelling "Runner Down! Runner Down!" I hope it was just someone feeling nauseated and nothing serious. I did see someone throwing up some gatorade, too. Running can be ugly. Sorry to disgust you.

Short but sweet!
No thoughts/comments on that one, huh? Sounds fun, though. Just wanted to say hi to Lindy! :) Isn't it awesome how many EP girls are starting to run???? Hope you're doing well!
... before I started doing the sprint triathlons last spring my friend who does them invited me to go watch one. There was a guy (large size like me) that had been doing them for a few months. So I went to watch. Well everything went well on swim and bike but by the time this poor guy got to the run he looked terrible. But he didn't quit. The whole time he was running he was projectile vomiting. I am not even going to discuss the horrible sounds and sights. The funny part was watching all the quicker runners coming back and leaping over the puddles of vomit lol. Was horrible and funny at same time. But he finished - he never gave up and he is one of the inspirations for me to keep going. He has lost over 140 pounds and I feel like I am about a year behind him training and ability -wise. He is doing aewsome this year. Very fast. So am just gonna do like he did and not quit.
Running sure can be ugly!! LOL I just remember dodging all the guys and their spit!! Ick.
I wish you could come out and run with us!! That'd be so much fun!! We should all pick a race somewhere in the middle of all of us...where would that be? LOL.....and meet up for a run sometime!!
I remember when you daughter and neice ran that cute little race! My youngest one actually cried when I told her about the race!! But when I told her its like not even a quarter of the distance around her field at school, she calmed down. ;)
