Run #47 Lincoln Park Zoo 5K; and end of week results UPDATED

Scheduled:  None, this is the last week of my self-imposed 4th run; next week the 30-minute Friday run that lasts thru the duration of the training program begins.

Event:  5k in Lincoln Park Zoo (3.1 miles)

Temp/Time of Day: 70's and humid...I saw on the news before leaving home that humidity was 90%...HOLY MOLY, I hope that was a misprint. / 8am

Time It Took: the race was chip time and results have not been posted.  I'll update this post later with my exact time.  I think the clock was like 34:02 or 07 when I crossed, but I didn't have a real good view of it.  I think my chip time will be somewhere between 33:02 and 33:30, I can't quite recall how long it took at the start before I crossed the start line.

Found the results before they even posted them to the site. Cool.  33:26 / 10:48 min per mile / 5.56mph

Thoughts/Comments:  Ran with my iPod.  Oh how I missed thee, my lovely iPod.  It was hot out there, but I did have on a dry-fit t-shirt, so I slightly prepared.  And it was only 3 miles...nice race, I will likely do it again next year.

Weekly Mileage: 18.78 miles

Other Weekly activity:  Two 45-minute sessions on the elliptical, and Two resistance training sessions

Total Training Miles To Date:  162.35

Way to go on your time! Did the run take you thru the Zoo? I bet they had really cool tshirts!

Humidity definitely sucks! Sounds like you did very well despite it.

Don't hate me....my folks have always been Cubs fans (I know, you are thinking, "boo, hiss")LOL. My mom called me Friday after the brawl to tell me all about it. All I can say is that is sounds par for the course for the Cubs.

Have a great Monday (what am I thinking, is that even possible?LOL), Shauna

Great job!

Congratulations on doing such a great job in your race! That's awesome! I'm so hooked on races. I love the energy that everyone brings to an event like that. It really helps me give it my all!

Have a great day,
Jen
