Run #28 Ravenswood Run 5K
Mileage: 3.1 (5K)
Temp/Time of Day: 60s/8am
Time It Took: OFFICIAL CHIP TIME 33:40
(I was hoping for a little better than that, by a minute or so)
Calculated Pace: 10:51 min per mile / 5.52mph
Thoughts/Comments: Cool 5K. Nice, historic neighborhood with all these gigantic homes. Families were out on the course cheering us on, some in their pajamas. I was soooo beat during the second and third mile, my legs were screaming at me for the 7 mile run on Friday! I kept wanting to stop and walk, but I was like "uh-uh, NO WAY, this is EASY mileage for me now." I didn't even stop for water at the halfway point. I figured why bother, I don't stop for water when I'm running by myself. Anyway, the run was also weird--well different-- b/c I decided not to bring my running partner along (aka my iPod). So I was listening to myself breathe, listening to others around me, many of whom were listening to their iPods.
During the last stretch I even heard this group, apparently a mother, daughter and her boyfriend or husband, ARGUING. I wanted to yell over at them to SHUT UP b/c their negative energy was stifling...but I just waited it out til I finally passed them. At my pace, passing people takes awhile. Here's a bit of their conversation (I love eavesdropping):
"Oh, I'm ruining your time..."
"No you're not, Mom."
( a little further along)
"You guys can just go ahead, I'll meet you at the end."
"No Mom, it's fine."
( a little later)
"Just go ahead"
"MOM, WE'RE FINE."
I don't know why it annoyed me so bad. Anyway...
My best friend helped me out by bringing the girls along, since hubby had to be at church early. Later, Jada told me "I love to see you running."
On to week 8, friends.
Week 7 Mileage: 15.51
Total Training Mileage: 88.27
Wow, week 8 should put me over 100 miles. Cool!
