Healthy foods
Yesterday, i stocked up my pantry with Spelt flakes ( i love them for breakfast), flaxseeds, whole wheat rye flour, whole wheat spelt flour, spelt grains and rye grains.
I want to start baking with whole wheat flours for the whole family. Will bake some muffins later on.
I made a nice lunch today. DS has an assignment for their healthy eating lessons, to note down all his meals today. So his lunch was, panaded turkey breast steaks with boiled potatoes tossed in butter and green beans. Dessert: white cheese. My version, turkey breast in a panade of spelt bran & wheat germ, green beans and brussel sprouts.

Good Stuff!
I've found it kind of fun to try new "healthy" foods and recipes. I am a flax fan now...never tried it before this year but another gal on my plan told me about it and gave me a sample of flax meal to try in my oatmeal. I actually like my oatmeal better with it than without...plus all of the great health benefits...you can't go wrong. I also buy this low-cal flax seed bread that I found at a health food store in my area. I'm going to have to check out "spelt"...never heard of it before....is it a grain?
Have I mentioned that I have family in France? Paris. They're my father's cousins....my father was born in Spain. Someone usually comes to visit the US about every 5 or 10 years it seems like. Anyway, there's a little bit of CaliGal trivia
