A new body, some new rules to play by...
So, if you haven't noticed, I have not been updating. That is simply because I have had nothing to update. Nothing except that my weight has stayed the same for about 3 weeks. 3 weeks! I've been eating the same way I've eaten since I started this diet back in June, and I've been working out 4 times a week as well. Confused? Yes, I was too. First I blamed it on "muscle", as I'm sure you all know that it weighs more than fat. However, that is no excuse...at least not for a month's worth of no weightloss.
So then I got to thinking, what's different? Why am I not losing weight? I'm doing the same things that I've always done, but it's just not working anymore. But I'm different. It occurred to me that the more you weigh, the more energy (or calories) it takes to operate your body. However, the less you weigh, the less calories your body requires. Since I'm now ~230 instead of 315, my body is requiring a lot less!
So what does this mean? This means that it's no longer only about eating the right foods: high protein, low fat, low carb, no sugar, no wheat, etc. Now I must incorporate dun..dun..dun...calorie counting. Yes, calorie counting. I've never been a calorie counter, eating the right foods has always been enough for me, but now it's about portion control and staying below my calorie goal. This will be a challenge for me and I will no doubt have to daily rely on the power of my Savior. I've been praying for the fruits of the spirit and I know He will use this to further teach me self-discipline. Ask, and ye shall recieve!
I am going to try and update more often, updating keeps me on task, keeps me focused, and I am always inspired by you girls!
Happy Valentine's Day (or "Singles-awareness Day" for girls like me)
:D
