2nd WI....

So no loss today.... but no gain either!!!!

I'm not sure if that's weird but I'm super excited for no gain. I had a rough weekend food wise, and was pretty nervous about the WI.

My goal for next WI is to drop 1 lb!

A recap of yesterday..... I drank 66 oz of water!!! but no exercise. I didn't get home until 7:30ish and was starving. I need to come up with a back up plan for unexpected late nights!!

I'm off to a good start today..... I ate breakfast!!! I hardly ever eat breakfast, which I know is not good..... I watched Biggest Loser last night and Bob gave me a lecture about it  So I liked to get this breakfast thing going everyday!

I'm seeing a trend...

This in now the 2nd week that I post on a Thursday and then not again until the next Tuesday. I hardly ever get on the computer over the weekends, but I find when I'm not posting I'm not really holding myself accountable. While I did exercise this weekend, I ate like ..... well not so good. I was craving salt and sweets like no other this weekend. That means I should be getting my monthly visitor any day now...... joy!!

In my last post I said I would let you know how my bargain workout DVD was..... well to put it nicely I found it boring. I stopped about half way through the cardio because I couldn't stand it anymore, I was bored out of mind. The music was very lame, and I just couldn't get over how cheesy the lady was. Maybe it is the PMS but she was annoying the crap out of me. FAST FORWARD to the next morning (don't laugh) when I got out of bed I had to grab onto the wall because I almost fell. My calves were so stiff and sore, I don't remember the last time I felt like that! So while the DVD was boring, it was definitely working out something :)

 I did get on the treadmill the next day to "loosen" up my calves, but OMG was I sore all day and the next!! I did work some upper body when I did the treadmill. So on Monday my calves were still a little sore and then my chest was really sore! But I kinda like it when my body hurts in a work-out sore way, it lets me know I'm working hard :)

I have my second WI tomorrow, I am kind of nervous. I am bloated for sure and my salt intake over the weekend did not help the cause. I'm going to drink lots of water today, and go for a nice run this evening and hope I can pee/sweat some of that salt out!!!

First WI.....

I had my first weigh in this morning....... DOWN 4 lbs!!!!

I'm super excited about this number..... while I know there are several factors that effect weight, being down 4 pounds is a great motivator!

I excerised last night with the husband..... it did not go well. We went running/walking a little later then planned and the temperature had dropped. So I was not feeling it!! We still walked the 2 miles, but there was NO running!

We did eat a nice dinner!! We got one of those little chickens from the grocery store that is already cooked and a bag of the frozen steamed veggies! It was yummy!!

My goal today is to do one of the complete exercises from my cheap DVD :) I'll let you know how I'm feeling after that!

 

I got a dollar!!

So I put my first $1 in the jar yesterday!!! I got about 25 minutes of cardio in... it was a very nice day so I walked/ran (mostly walked) around the area by my apt. Then about 8:45 pm I got this crazy idea to try an exercise DVD I bought.... why I would exercise that late in the evening is a mystery to me... I could not fall asleep to save my life last night.

But here is the sad part .... I only did the warm-up portion of the DVD... I was a little winded and I'm sore today from it!!! That tells me a lot about my fitness level at this part.

Okay.... about this DVD... I found it in the Dollar Bin at Target.... it was $2.50. I figured for that much I might as well try it! Well the lady is a little cheesy but if the rest of the work-outs are anything like the warm-up I think I'm in store for one heck of a work-out..... Once I do it all I'll let you know!

Also yesterday I did much better on my water! I drank about 48 oz!! While that might not seem like much before I started I was drinking 0 oz a day!! So I am really improving in the water area!!

This evening I am exercising with my hubby  We are going to do some cardio.... I like when we exercise together, I usually hold my own against him which is a nice ego boost for me

Tomorrow is my weigh in day..... So we will see if there are any changes.

All I can say is I have had a horrible start!! Out of 5 days, I have only exercised 2 days!! With dinner with friends, two birthday dinners, and football things just kind of got away from me. Which this has been my number ONE obstacle for a while now..... trying to find a balance. Figuring out a way to do it all.... I'm just not sure how to. One thing I did achieve though is drinking lots of water!! I'm not sure how many oz's or anthing I just know I kept filling up my water bottle all day Saturday and Sunday. But when I am school I have a harder time getting in water... I have been doing good today though.

So with the exercise challenge I've been having here is my plan (my mom gave me this idea!)........

Every day that I exercise I am going to put $1 in a jar, and when I reach my goal I get to use the jar to buy something for myself!!

I told my hubby about this and he is going to do the same... So we are going to buy something together will all of our dollars!! 

Another goal I have for today is to get pictures on my blog and gallary, find some friends, and leave some comments!

A goal I forgot to post yesterday is to drink more water..... that is kind of like my diet goal :) This will be a little hard for me, yesterday I didn't drink any water until 9:00 pm!! Today however I'm about half way through my first big bottle of water!

So yesterday was okay.... I did get in some cardio, I went walking with some teachers from school. It was not 45 minutes though :(

But I stayed up way too late last night drinking wine with a friend and torturing her dogs with peanut butter

Today will be test to my will power to see if I do my exercise after school with being so tired.....

At this point I'm not sure how I am going to make it, but I know that attitude will get me no where....

SO NO MATTER WHAT..... I am exercising today!!

Here I go....

As a newlywed I've noticed I'm starting to pack on some love luggage! I realized that when I sit down to dinner or go out to eat I'm eating almost the exact same thing as my husband, sometimes even more!! Yikes! While I did lose some weight before the wedding, not by dieting or exercise I think it was nerves and stress; I managed to put some of that back on. I have also noticed recently that I have no energy.

My goal: To shed 18 lbs (by April 1), tone up, maintain an exercise routine, and have more energy.

My obstacles: As a teacher I sometimes get very busy during the day and skip a meal, the teacher's lounge (always mounds of goodies), and I feel exhausted after school so I go home and lay on the couch.

My plan of attack: The thought of dieting or trying to count calories stresses me out! I've tried it before... and not had much success. While I will be watching portions and trying to make healthier decisions when going out my main focus will be exercise for the first month. I feel if I can get into a regular exercise routine I will be more motivated to change my eating habitats.

For the first two weeks this is my goal:

  • Wednesday: Cardio (45 minutes) walking/running
  • Thursday: toning (either a DVD I bought or gym at apt.)
  • Friday: Cardio (45 minutes)
  • Saturday: Hiking
  • Sunday: Hiking or toning
  • Monday: off
  • Tuesday: toning

Wednesday will be my weigh in day. 

So here I go......
