I'm home!

I've now been home from my 6 week long  trip to Colorado for 2 weeks! I had an amazing time! I was able to keep pretty active. I didn't have my regular workout routine but when I wasn't hiking, I went on walk/jogs, or on bike rides. I haven't gained or lost any weight during the time I was gone so I guess that's good. Especially since vacations have been known for ruining weight loss plans.

Now that I'm back in the swing of things....I'm getting back to my previous workout schedule. I need to be sure that I'm getting back into everything & more....because I'm ready to lose the rest of this weight!

I'll be back probably next week Sat. or Sun. to talk about my workout routines from this coming week.

I'm still here

I haven't completely given up! Its been very busy around here. Since my classes have gotten out I've been working a lot more. Unfortunately....not working out a lot....

Let's just say that I've either been getting up early & going to work or sleeping in & then going to work....therefore missing my normal workout time. I know, I know....I can workout at more than one time but I'm not so good at the evening workouts.....I'm not able to go to sleep if I workout at night. It's an excuse but its a true one.

I worked out once or twice last week & then once this week. I'm really going to try & finish this week off strong but we'll see. A week from today I leave for my vaca! Woohoo!

4/21-4/27 Can you believe it???

Isn't it amazing that I'm actually posting on Sunday....and not only is it Sunday, but it's Sunday @ 1:00 in the afternoon. What’s up with that?? Usually if I actually get to posting on Sunday it’s right before I go to bed around midnight or so (then I guess its technically Mon. but that’s beside the point).

This week tried to get back to normal. Well, I wasn’t able to get back completely to my normal schedule, but a lot closer than I was last week. I'm proud of myself for it, because I had 2 finals to study for and take & I was still able to workout. As I've said previously, if I have to study for finals I usually postpone my workouts (that’s standard)
 
I was able to get in- 30 mins on the ellitical, 40 mins on the treadmill, a 40 mins step-workout, 1 ab & weights workout. Not too shabby.
 
I am really pushing to my goal now. I just have 2 finals & a Spanish oral to do this week and my classes are over! WOOHOOO!! Wait, wait, wait I know what you are thinking. Well, if you are going to be out of classes then you are probably going to start slacking on your workouts. OH no no no on the contrary, I'm going to be doing more workout then I have had time to during school.
 
The past few months I've mainly done cardio 3 times per week. I'm going to increase that to 4 times a week. Plus, I'm going to be sure to get in 2-3 ab & weight routines down each week.
 
That's my goal for the next 23 days leading up to my summer trip. Until now I don't think I've said where I'm going.  Well…..I'm flying out to Colorado. And I will be there...drum roll....for 5 weeks!!!  I'm sooo completely excited.
 
 
Granted, I'll need to make sure I get my workouts done there too, but I'm thinking that shouldn't be too much of a problem. Instead of not working out on vacation (like I have in the past) I am taking the necessary steps to make sure I work out there as well. The days that I’m not hiking in the mountains, etc. I will run & possibly even do some of the workout dvds that I'm planning to bring along.
 
Wow, posting during the day when I'm not half asleep actually leads to a longer post...go figure.
 
I'll be back next week to post my successes. (optimism...gotta love it!)

4/14-4/20 Did I blow it?

Well I'm not going to go as far as to say I blew it, but last time I mentioned that I was really going to try to workout my usual routine even though I had my finals to study for....well.....it didn't quite work out that way.

I was able to get in 30mins of elliptical & then 1 weights & abs workout. I am glad that I was able to get something done, but this is the least I've worked out in a month. (I am happy to be able to say that though, because there definitely have been times when I've got a lot longer without working out.)

I have been sooo afraid to get on the scale this week. Everytime I'm in the bathroom & see it I roll my eyes & fight the urge to step on it. I just can't weigh myself this week, not after last week. I'll weigh myself next week after I kick butt with my workouts this week. :)

I should be back Sun. to write about how it went this week.

Lovin it

Woohoo, I'm down 10.4 lbs today!!! :o) The last few weeks have been very motivating, seeing the lbs & inches decrease, it's great!!!

I've always loved how I feel after I work out, but I've felt even better since I've been losing weight. The last few weeks I've lost 2 lbs a week, which is the healthiest way to do it. Now that classes are wrapping up I will have more time to do my workouts (and less excuses to not do them)

I will be going on my summer trip in 34 days, that gives me just about 4 weeks. At 2 lbs a week, I can loss an additional 8 lbs. I'm really striving for that.

I'm also happy to report that even with studying for finals this week I've been doing my workouts!!

I'll try my best to be back on Sunday!

 

4/7-4/13--Studying a weight loss plan killer???

I was just going to get ready for bed after studying all day, but made a conscious decision to make sure I posted about last week. I am really trying to make sure I post on time to keep with my plan, workouts & all.

Last week I did 100mins of cardio, 1-ab workout, 1- weight work out. I know that I should've tried to get in a little more abs & weights, actually another 30 mins cardio workout would've been good too but it just wasn't in the cards.

It's getting closer & closer to finals....& more me (I'm not going to lie)  that = stress, anxiousness & chocolate cravings. Since I am aware of this I've been putting a lot of effort into getting as much studying done weeks prior to finals to help me feel more comfortable with the info. I will also try & monitor the chocolate cravings & try to make conscious decisions on if I really need the chocolate bar or if it's just the stress. (I will want to believe it's the  latter, but in the moment it's always easier to talk yourself into believing you need it.)

I'm going to try & keep up with my workouts this week but with finals studying I usually talk myself into believing that the time I spend workout would be better used studying....but I know workouts helps me de-stress & will help me focus so I will keep that in mind.

Here goes next week....

3/31-4/6

I was very happy with all that I was able to accomplish last week. I got in 105 mins of cardio, 2-20min Pilates workouts & weights twice.

I really hoping to continue that this week. A few of my classes were cancelled last week, so I had a lot more time, but I'm really trying to keep it up.

I have a week & a half left of classes, so my time is very precious, with studying, etc.

I'm down to 177lbs. I was pretty excited to see that. I just need it to continue dropping. I'm not losing it as fast I would've hoped, but with all that I have in my schedule I'm glad I've been able to lose as much as i have so far.

K, I'll be back at the end of the week.

It is sunday....

....and I'm posting!! I'm actually updating on the day that I commited to. I've been pretty productive all day so I guess it's just continuing.

As I said in the last post, I predicted this past week to be fairly difficult because of the company that was staying at my house. I did better than I expected actually.

On Thurs. I was able to do a 35 min step workout, Sat. I went hiking with a friend. We did a 6 mile trail.  Then today I got in a 40 min workout plus I did my weight lifting routing.

I'm ready for this week. I'm really pushing to do as many workouts as possible & be as cautious as possible with the food that I choose to eat. (Not only this week but for the next month or so) I really want to lose some more weight and get closer to my goal before my summer trips. I'd really like to lose 5-10 lbs before my trip at the end of May.

Well, that's the plan!

Last week

I had a great weekend away!! But now to my update for last week....As a formal workout I got in 1 hour of cardio- playing racquetball. I love racquetball!! I didn't get another formal workout at all last week. Although Friday when we were at the beach we walked so much. I took 2 walks up & down the beach (no telling the distance or time for that matter) AND up and down the main strip of stores shopping. I'm glad I was able to atleast keep active while we had our mini-vaca.

I'm working on this week. I'm not going to lie, it's going to be tough week because I have relatives staying at my house. It's always a lot more difficult to stay disciplined and workout when you have company. We'll see how it goes.

Isn't it Sunday??

Ok, when I set my New Year's resolution it included updating each Sunday regarding how I did with my workouts & such on the previous week. Well lately I haven't been so consistent with doing my posts on Sun. I'm really going to do my best to do it on Sun. but if I don’t get it Sun. no sweat I just have to make sure I do it some time.

Last week I was able to get in 3 cardio workouts & 2 weight lifting workouts.

Ok that’s my update...here's to the rest of this week. I'm trying to get in all my workouts this week but I think its going to be difficult bc I'm going out of town this weekend. I'm def going to try & watch what I'm eating but to get in a real workout might be a little difficult. I'm going with some friends to the beach...I'm soo excited!! I am going to try taking a walk on the beach a couple times, but it won't be as intense of a workout as I usually get but at least I'll be moving. Woohoo I'm going to the beach!
