Progress!!
In week 3 of the Couch to 5K, a make-up volleyball game last night has my schedule a little off so I may have to run consecutive days this week instead of M, Th, S. Anywho, tonight was the first time a 3 minute jog was entered into the mix...a BIG jump from the 90 second intervals last week. So, it was 90 second jog, recovery, 3 minute jog, recovery, 90 second jog, recovery, and 3 minute jog. I think the podcast I was using shortened our recovery time so the gals and I decided to throw in an extra 90 second jog! The second 3 minutes felt MUCH longer than the first but I was still only slightly behind the other girls! woo hooooo!
I'm no longer scared of this week, I just hope I can fit it all in. Now, next week - I'm scared - not only because it's a 3 and 5 minute interval set but because I'm going from the unusually cool weather of Michigan to the hot and crazy humid weather in Texas!!! I just have to try and see what happens. Listen to the old body and do what I can! :)
Happy Tuesday!
Weightloss right now is slow, but I'm okay with that and it's not my #1 focus. Getting committed to this running program and fitness

Not too shabby
I've finished 2 weeks of the Couch to 5K Program!!
Nervous because the jump from 1-1/2 mins to 3 mins is next week and then in Week 4, I'm going from the warm and mildly humid climate of Michigan to the HOT and definitely HUMID climate of Texas...hope my body can handle it!
I'm still not really "on" when it comes to food, but we've done pretty well this week. My BF is helping me with some upper body (watching my form) twice a week and I think I'm going to try to walk my "rogging" route once or twice a week to help build up endurance.
Week 2 Activity
Monday - 30 minute C25K
Tuesday - upper body
Wednesday - beach volleyball
Thursday - 30 minute C25K
Friday - none
Saturday - 30 minute C25K; upper body; core
Happy Losing, all!

Week 1, Day 1 - DONE
I did it...I was MUCH slower and in far worse shape than the two gals I started with, but I don't care. I did it. I jogged/walked when I was supposed to and although at times I thought I might drop over...my lungs are not used to this...I didn't! :) I'm not sure I have run intentionally since high school and I'm not sure I've ever run** a whole mile without stopping! The idea of being able to even do that is really exciting let alone 2 or 3 miles.
I play volleyball tomorrow night so day 2 will be on Thursday and solo...I'm actually looking forward to it!
Happy Losing/Health Gaining!
**Note: whenever I say run I mean JOG.

Couch to 5K
If you asked me right now and more importantly about a week ago I would tell you I don't like running and have no desire to do it. Then, I realized I haven't even tried so that is silly and NOW I'm doing it BECAUSE I think I don't like it. Soooo, I start the couch to 5k tomorrow! I'm weird, ask anybody. :)
So, I recruited some other running-mates, went out and bought some good running shoes this weekend...I'll buy a stopwatch tomorrow...downloaded some iTunes...and off I go.
9 weeks of potential torture followed by a 5K race with a whole slew of people (actual race TBD)...that is a pretty big goal. I know I can do it...I just really hope I end up liking to run or atleast not minding it. I'll keep you posted!

Holding..
So, I've been in the 190ish range for a WHILE now...189-190-191-188...repeat. I've been okayish with it, but as I get closer to my big birthday I realize I've been slacking. Now, I am still doing really well making good choices with my food most of the time and working out at least several days a week, but I really want to step up my game.
I signed up for Belly Dancing which has turned into more fun, but not so much a workout.
I also finally signed up at the gym at work...I've done one session of Zumba over a week ago and I haven't been back...I really only want to do the classes and haven't had time, I've been working long hours. But, this week I think I'll get to Zumba at least once and continue riding the bike at home or doing sporadic dancing around the house, which is a newly developed hobby. :)
Anyway...I'm not avoiding this place because I'm doing "bad", which is normally why I slack...it's because I've not been on the computer much! My bf moved in, we've been busy with all sorts of craziness and then crazy work. April has been busy and May is looking to be probably moreso. Can't wait for the warm weather. For now, I'm enjoying the promise of nice weather and the smell of lilacs!!
I'm still "here" people and I hope you are doing great on your journeys!
Happy Losing!

Ahead of schedule...
but not going to get cocky about it!
So far my plan of taking it easy and not getting all bajigitty about this diet is working better and better! I'm almost 3 months ahead...with a 15 pound loss since January 4th, my 6 pounds per month goal has been blown out of the water!
Woo hoo!
I need to kick up the exercise, but I'm doing good over all.
Yay - happy losing all!

Still here..still on track
I haven't peeked in here in a while...also haven't tracked my food all that well. I had a somewhat carby weekend - some salsa and chips (for fear of passing out) before dinner (steak and veggies) late on Friday night...some beer with dinner...dad made lasagna for us yesterday so I had that...and a cookie. I may have had a few other indiscretions that I'm missing but I can't remember them right now. Anyway, besides the tortillas and the cookie these were planned "oopsies" so, I'm not upset with myself.
I am a little bummed I didn't exercise today, the day seriously got away from me. I will get in some good time tomorrow. Tomorrow...work, ewwwwwwwwwww!
Oh you know what I spent most of my day on - COUPONS. I took a coupon class and so I was cutting a bagillion coupons and trying to figure out how to organize them (my little accordian file will no longer do). Then I was online trying to find more coupons and it goes on and on! Craziness...but it will be worth it!
Today (not a very balanced day):
rice pudding
Q-doba naked burrito (probably about 1/4 c. of the rice)
burger with veggies and cheese
1/8 c. peanuts
Tooooooomorrow - tomorrow - I don't want to work, tomorrow
It's onlyyyy for the pay (it's only temporary (tempour-air aye))
Hee hee...I just made that up.
HAPPY LOSING!

9 pounds and a belt loop...
So, normally after 3 to 3-1/2 weeks on most diet plans I have lost more than 9 pounds, but I don't care. I am soooooooooo excited! I am down 9 pounds (finally, the holiday weight is off) and I plan to be down at least 21 more before the end of May! More exciting was the belt loop I was on when I threw on some jeans this past week. Woo hoo!
Maybe even MOST EXCITING is the fact that I don't really feel like I'm dieting. Yippee!
I'm not trying that hard, I'm making good choices, I'm feeling great!

I like baking...
So, I took a cake decorating class in November at Jo-Anns in November and I really liked it. I've done a little baking here and there since then and I think it might be my cup o' tea. It's hard, however, to not be your own BIGGEST customer. I did well this week when I made cupcakes for work, but it's hard to not lick your finger when frosting get on it... The toughest part is how to practice when there aren't any "events" and the goodies just hang around your house. P.S. I love frosting!
Anyway, as I struggle through the neverending "what do I want to be when I grow up?"...I'm starting to think that maybe it's a baker or pastry chef. Teacher is on the list too. And, a million other things!
Well, that was random...but it is what's going on in this kooky head of mine.
I guess it started with being proud that I didn't indulge in my treats this week.
-----------------------
Going out for my monthly Girl's Night Out tonight...will have some drinks...need to eat well today, exercise, drinks lots o' water. Looking forward to some fun!!!
Happy Losing!
