Before After

19 lbs. to go!

Big apology for not posting here, but I thought I should post this milestone.  I have less than 20 pounds to go.  As I type this, I feel like I need to pinch myself to make sure it's real.

I've been working on this goal for so long and now it seems like the end (of the loss stage at least) is finally in sight.

I have changed so much physically that I don't recognize myself sometimes.  Daily, I have people say that they didn't recognize me at first.  Daily, I have people who are close to me and rarely comment tell me I'm looking skinny today. (Imagine me and skinny in the same sentence!!) I'm getting used to it, but my mind is just not caught up to my weight loss.

For anyone reading this who is struggling, just keep at it.  It is SO worth it!  I can't even describe what it has done to my overall wellbeing and happiness in life.  When you hear people say that losing weight won't make you happy, don't believe them......especially if you are like me and feel that everything in your life is in order except for your weight.  Losing the weight for me has made everything else in my life even better than before.

There is hope, people........stick to whatever you have chosen and you will be rewarded.

CONGRATS!!!!

Hi Serendipity,

I read your blog for the first time this morning and am truly inspired by your story. You look fabulous! That is AMAZING how well you have done.  I only hope that a year from now I can be saying the same about myself.  I am also curious about this Medifast plan. Is it extremely expensive and/or difficult to follow? I think I may just have to check into this for myself.

P.S. Keep up the good work and maybe you could post some new pics. It is even more encouraging to see the difference.

Great Job

You have done an amazing job! WOW! You lost the combined weight of both of my children (90 & 60 lbs). You look fantastic. I have not heard of Medifast. What is it?

What is Medifast?

Medifast is a balanced low calorie diet.  You can find out more about it by going to www.medifastdiet.com, but I'll tell you a little about it here.

I eat 5 supplements per day and one meal of a lean meat and a vegetable.  I can choose from shakes (lots of flavors), soups, puddings, food bars, oatmeal, and more.  There are so many choices.  You just need to find what you like and stick with that.  I particularly like the oatmeal - all flavors, the ready to drink shakes, and the bars.

The meal consists of either 7 oz. (cooked weight) of chicken or fish, or 5 oz. of beef, pork, or lamb, and 1 1/2 cups of a vegetable or 2 cups of salad.  There is a list of acceptable vegetables.  Some such as peas and corn are not allowed due to high carb content.

The diet works great for me.  I am never hungry because a meal is never more than 2 1/2 or 3 hours away.  The meal that I am allowed makes it easy to stick to when we go out to dinner.  It just works into my routine very well.

As for the cost, it's about $10/day, but I was spending that much on junk food and sweets before, so although you need to purchase it up front, it is no more expensive than pigging out.

Hope this helps you.  I would encourage you to go to the website or to the support forum at www.makemethinner.com and check us out.
