Starting Low Carb
Let's take a look at my schedule, not in order of importance:
1. business to run
2. homeschool 3 kids
3. home to manage
4. dogs and cats to feed
5. exercise
Add to this, my beloved FIL, who is need of a liver transplant, seems to be in the hospital at least once a month.
For my diet, I need simplicity.
I need to be satisfied after eating.
I need to be able to stop constantly thinking about food.
I started thinking back to when I was:
Healthy - no pms, no acne, no constant stuffy nose, no moodiness, no energy crashes
My best weight - 135, size 8
Fit - running 10K's, Firm
My best mentally - not depressed, not obsessing constantly on food
Guess what? I was doing low carb.
I have decided that I am going back on low carb. I can lose weight easily, even if I can't wake up early enough to exercise everyday.
Plus, I remember feeling so good and energetic. These first few days will be difficult, but I can do it.
I joined a weight loss challenge from a fitness board. It is based on the Biggest Loser. We all pay $5 to join. At the end of the challenge, the "Biggest Loser" wins all the money. It starts Monday and runs through Memorial Day - 20 Weeks!! I am very excited. The bad thing is that I will have to post "before" pictures with measurements. I will try to get my courage up tomorrow.
I stole this quote from the journal of the person who started the Biggest Loser Challenge:
"This is my body. And I can do whatever I want to it. I can push it. Study it. Tweak it. Listen to it. Everyone wants to know what I'm on. What am I on? I'm on my bike busting my ass six hours a day. What are you on?" Lance Armstrong
