So today I decided to add weights back into my workout routine. Because of time shortages I was having a hard time fitting in half an hour of cardio plus 30-45 minutes of weights into one session. My workouts had been cut to 45 minutes of cardio 5 days a week, resistance band training 4 times a week. This is just not working for me. My body is resisting all attempts at dropping weight. I'll lose a pound one week but the next week it is back.
After reading half of my body for life book I have decided to bring weights back into the program, because they are so important. I'm not participating in a challenge yet, but maybe in a few months I will. However, I do like the idea of alternating cardio and weight training.
For the next 4 weeks I am going to do cardio 3 days a week, Tues-Thurs-Sat and weight train 3 days a week, Mon-Wed-Fri. Sunday will be my free day. Maybe getting the weights back in will help me out, I hope so.
My eating today has been on track. I haven't had a diet soda in two days, I'm not really trying to cut them out, I was only drinking one a day anyway, but I just haven't really wanted one. I didn't even think about it until last night about 8pm and by then it was too late for me to have any caffeine anyway. I have been through 10 glasses of water so far today, and it's only 2pm. I think staying hydrated has kept my mind off diet soda.

Weight are Good
I love the Body for Life book. I am going to start adding weight training back into mine as well. best of luck. You will be shredding that weight in NO TIME!!
I understand completely about losing 1, gaining 1, even when eating on point and exercising regularly. It's very frustrating! I think my problem has something to do with lack of water sodium intake. It sounds like you're doing great on the water front. :)
to read this book! Thank you for your comments on my blog. I apolgize if I was coming off as rude or disrespectful. Sometimes I take things as a direct jab instead of just the thoughts spoken outloud they were meant to be. Sounds like you are doing wonderful! Makin me jealous girl! LOL! Good luck this week!!
is sooo awesome!!! I really should be on this program!!! One of my ep friends gettinfit, she's on it and I just have to say...WOW!!! you should go to her page and check her out. She's an awesome inspiration!www.extrapounds.com/blog/gettinfit2007/
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I hear ya on the frustration with bouncing around the same few pounds. I did that for about 6 months or so. But it was my fault, so I couldn't complain too much. I think adding weights will help. At least in the long run. You might see a gain at first, but you'll lose inches. Good luck! Never give up!

Isn't it bothering you not having the diet soda???? I only drink one a day, but I really don't know what I would do without it...lol. I can't wait to see you when you start melting those pounds off of you! Once they start coming off you will really start dropping, it's like your body just has to get used to getting rid of those fat cells. Good luck !
You know what I think the nicest thing about BFL is....well, holy moly, I can't pick one....one that comes to mind right now? THE PLANNING!
Like you mentioned above, you're doing cardio certain days, weight training others. That's good. I love knowing what I'm headed out to do at the gym before I get there. With this program I know what I'll be doing for 84 days straight. NICE!
Here are some great tools if you are interested. Will really help with planning the weight sessions, and figure out your goals. You don't have to be doing the official challenge to use them. They are just on the BFL site for anyone to use.
Glad you are excited about your changes. Muscle training is a great thing, and doing short bursts of cardio is nice and time effecient too.
As for the comments on FIT....*whew* that conversation sure would have been easier in person.
