Any Advice.....

Hello all... I need some advice.  I have done really well with my weight loss, but there is that one particular time of the month, that I am sure we ALL have trouble with, and that TOM is a real pain. Well TOM is about to visit me soon, and I wanted to see if any of you had any advice that helps with the extra cravings/hunger, water retention that does make that weeks WI so good, etc.

If you do, could you help a fellow chuncky chick out?!!! I want to be ready for TOM, and happily send him on his way without seeing the effects  that he over stayed his welcome.

Thanks all,

Kami

Wow, telepathy

That's really weird but I was going to post that question myself.

I am fighting the cravings to eat an entire chicken and enough protein to feed an entire town!

Exercise

I read somewhere that exercising during TOM helps with water retention and cravings. So, make sure you get those workouts in!

Chocolate

The chocolate monster usually hits me for about 3 days. I can eat an entire house full of chocolate. I usually don't eat chocolate any other time so when TOM is not visiting I take a chocolate bar and freeze it in thirds. I have a piece each day when I crave it. I hate it frozen so it takes me longer to eat it and I don't enjoy it as much but it helps with that craving and it does the trick for me.

As the others said, make sure you drink lots of water and exercise. Step it up a wee notch during this time. It will help you. I had TOM last week and I was still down 1.7 pounds and I exercised my hiny off.

Good Luck and try not to let it get you down.

lol

I can't offer any advice because I've just succumbed myself!  The only thing I can say is that if I exercise and eat well the rest of the time, the attack doesn't last very long.  Thankfully!

Two suggestions

Chug a lug that water.  It will help with water retention.  Exercise helps release feel good hormones.  It can counteract cramps and even help with cravings.  Oh, three suggestions...PAMPRIN!  Good luck!

not too sure

For the chocolate thing you could buy one 100calorie chocolate bar..do you have thoes where you live?? They are a small bar in different flavors and are only 100 calories. For the water...just drink more and you'll retain less cause your body is getting the water it needs. Like during TOM your body needs more water so if you drink the same ammount you usualy do your body will hold onto it but if you give it more they your body wont have to hold onto every drop...if that makes sence. Anyway good luck!!

DR Advice

My doctor told me to exercise more and to take Motrin or Ibuprofen. Both help with pain, amount of flow, and water retention. She also said to cut salt intake or sodium even more.
