New Year

I'm not one to set up a bunch of ridiculous resolutions.  I'll continue on my quest to become healthier, plain and simple.  I'll continue to exercise and count calories until I reach my goal.  My goal is a size 8.  Whatever weight I'm at, I don't care!

I took my munchkin and our puppy to the park today.  I wish I could figure out how to post pictures in the actual post.  I tried using the url from our website but it doesn't work.

I had my hair cut yesterday and the gal used the flat iron to curl it and it was cute and so different and i loved it, but i can't do it.    I can curl my daughter's hair with it, though, so I know my iron can do curls, though I think i need one with rounded edges.  I'll go buy one tomorrow if I look at mine and confirm it has more straight edges, cause i want to be able to curl my hair, dammit!  a regular curling iron just doesn't cut it.  So once i figure it out, I'll post pictures.

I worked out with my new iPod yesterday on the treadmill and it was awesome.  42 minutes flew by.  yay!  i did the first segment today of the 30-day shred  dvd and it was damn hard.  I then did 15 minutes on the bike after I realized i only burned roughly 215 calories in those 20 minutes!  I'm aiming for 1600 calories a day and burn at least 300 and the days I don't work out, aim for 1400 calories those days, but I know i'll eat more some days.  It's life.  I can't live my life without splurging.  it's just not reasonable to think I will eat perfect all the time.  I can live with that.  One pound a week loss is just fine with me!  Though I'm still not getting on the scale and going by clothes.

I can't come up with a title.

I had a great time having my MIL here for Christmas.  It was very enjoyable, and she baked the best apple pie ever!  I am attempting to recreate what she did and have one in the oven now.  I hope it's good, though I plan on only having a tad  bit of it.    I pigged out on cookies the other day and have had a very bad tummyache since.  So i shall use control.  Plus, apple pie isn't something I pig out on anyway.  I'm a small serving of apple pie kinda girl.

So having had the tummyache, I have not worked out since last Sunday.  I'll do something today for sure, probably the bike or treadmill with my NEW IPOD!!  yep, hubby bought me a new iPod.  Hubby rocks!  Angela rocks too!! She sent me a new exercise dvd I can't wait to try.

I'm ready to buckle down and lose some inches!

Work be gone!

I wish I had magic like Samantha and Tabitha did from Bewitched    I'd wiggle my nose and I'd have all my work done and my house spotless

I'm making a little headway with my work and trying to think of the money at the end of the tunnel.  I don't know how reporters work full-time. Enough whining.  I'm thankful for the work.

I got a little bit of shopping done today and was a bit bummed that 3 pairs of size 12 jeans were too tight cause of my droopy belly.  I really wish I could just go get that cut off now!!  I wonder how much it would cost and if a surgeon would even do it considering i'm still so overweight for my height.  I didn't turn to food for once!!  I made a conscious decision that I must do what is within my power and abilities to remove that fat.  So i'll keep up with my cardio and weights and definitely improve my eating habits.  I've done awesome today, esp after that shopping trip!!  No way am I going to contribute to my belly pudge.  I just keep thinking about that when I think about grabbing a snack out of boredom.

I rode the stationary bike last night for 30 minutes.  Today was the Crunch dvd I had through Netflix, 44 minutes of really fun cardio.  I sent it back today and will pick out a new one for next week!

I'm at 1424 calories right now, give or take a few cause i had to estimate on my home-made soup and cornbread.  It's hard to determine exact portion sizes of whole dishes like those ,but I have a good idea.

I'm on track.  I really want to be a size 10 by my birthday in April.  I have plenty of time to make it happen!!

And I got an email from LA Fitness today.  I'm debating going back for a couple months.  It's free to go back except my $25 monthly fee.  I think I'll do it and take the kickboxing and body works classes and even step aerobics again.  Decisions, decisions....

Great new diet!

Wanna try it!  it's the "I'm so busy i don't even have time to think about food diet"!!  It's working. 

What is it with litigation this time of year?  Last year I was on vacation but sheesh, the calendar was dead, as far as I knew.  This year I am swamped!  And then someone called for me to work on Monday. Wow, depositions so close to Christmas and expedites.  Come on people! It's the holidays. Don't they know I have presents to wrap and need to clean my house?  I think not.

But it's good.  Busy is good.  Busy means money!  And we could all use money.

I went to breakfast this morning with a friend at Village Inn.  I researched before we went and oddly, the thing I picked out is what this gal always eats there, every Sunday morning.  So I had the multigrain fruit and nuts pancakes with a tad of syrup.  Calorie friendly for pancakes and very filing.  I didn't even eat lunch  until damn near 4 pm! But that had to do with the being busy part, as well as no real appetite.  And I just had a tiny bowl of Special K.  so I'm definitely doing well today calorie-wise, and I'm going to try to squeeze in some cardio tonight. 

Transcripts can wait.  I need to stay healthy.

Great day!

I have alread got in my exercise for the day, though it was only 30 minutes and I feel I should have managed to do more.  I just have so much work to do and have lunch at my daughter's school today and her lunch is at 10:20!  Who eats that early!   I got in 30 minutes of weight-training, so my metabolism will be revved all day.  I may do 10 minutes on the bike tonight, some interval training really pushing myself.  "may" being the key word there.

I bought some veggies yesterday and am going to be making vegetable soup today or tomorrow, so I'll be getting in some yummy stuff.  Now if I could stop eating marshmallows, i'd be doing a tad better

Numbers

It's not all about the numbers, but I can't help but be a bit excited when the numbers work in my favor!  I haven't been logging my body fat using my analyzer just cause I was more focusing on how I feel and how my clothes fit.

well..... this morning I decided to give it a try first thing in the morning like i usually do when I did use it regularly, and it was 30.1% all three times I did it!!  I vaguely remember the number being 30.8% last time I used it a couple months ago.  So my weight might still be 180 but i'm burning fat and gaining muscle!!

Gotta get ready for work.  I'll read up on everyone later.  have a wonderfully healthy day!

cardio dance!! move it move it!

This dance video is a lot of fun!  I've done it a few times and always love it.  Granted, there's a really goofy girl in it that they keep showing, but ignore her and you'll be sweating and burning some calories!  It's great for a day your legs are a bit sore, like today for me   I'm not as sore as I was thinking I would be, but I can feel the hard work I put in last night.

Another great day eating.  i even had fruit today!  No veggies.  I'll work on that.  I always have to make a concerted effort to get in my veggies.  I go in spurts where I steam broccoli and will have salad, and then I'm just sick of it.  And, no, i don't eat only broccoli.  I like other vegetables   I just need to eat them! 

I took a peek at the scale this morning and TOM is due this week and so I was up from my last weigh-in despite eating within my calorie range and working out.  I'm not worried about it.  I'll take measurements on 1/2, a month from my last measurements, and really go by that as a loss in addition to the scale. 

I feel great.  That's what matters most.

Another new dvd

I tried another new dvd thanks to Netflix today called Crunch Total Body Resculpt  There's a review of it.  I L-O-V-E-D it!  And I definitely recommend at least trying it.  It was damn challenging, and I'm an avid exerciser!  I haven't done anything that hard in a long time.  I feel fatigued and am looking forward to sleeping well tonight. At one point during the leg routine, my legs were shaking and i was ready to stand up out of the lunge position, but I stuck it out and know I'll be feeling it tomorrow.

Today was a great eating day!  I am at 1500 calories and worked out for 45 minutes.  I need to get back into eating more fruits and veggies and salads too.  I did have one tangerine today!  I think I'll have half a banana before bed and maybe another tangerine.

new pics

I finally fit into size 12 jeans i bought  back in October! They were too uncomfy back then to wear.  I weigh the same but they fit   And that's all that matters.  When I was 24, I was 165 pounds and a size 12, and now here I am at 180 and wearing a size 12.  Goes to show weight on the scale isn't the only thing that matters.

So I took a pic of me this afternoon with my size 12 jeans a new top I bought last weekend at Fashion Bug.  And i posted a few of those.  I'll have more pics up soon. Granny is coming to visit, and I'll make sure to get pics while she's here of all of us and at Christmas too.  After all, it's the Christmas '05 pics that pushed me to lose weight.  so I must have Christmas of '08 pics to compare them to.

I just worked out hard for 40 minutes.  I'm ready for a nap now...zzzzzzz

I made my own circuit DVD using the biggest loser power sculpt, level one.  I did 5 minutes on the treadmill to warm up and then i would alternate with the dvd and the treadmill and just pause the dvd.  it was fun!  But I can feel my arms are like jello right now and I can just tell I worked hard.  The past few days i've worked harder than usual with the two new Firm dvds and then what I did today.  Tomorrow will be a light dance dvd or just a walk on the treadmill.  nothing strenuous.

I'm feeling strong and can tell my fitness level is improving.  I can jog for 4.3 mph on the treadmill with no problem at all, meaning my knees don't hurt and i'm not out of breath!  Not sure how long I could maintain it but it wasn't even a possibility before.  I can also do the jumping with my knees way up high and keep up with the girls on the videos! 

I'm happy with me.
