Well I am back and I can honestly say I made a total pig of myself on the cruise - its almost impossible to be strict with yourself when there is food everywhere! I pretty much ate whatever I wanted and we drank shed loads too.... However, a good time was had by all. I had my usual panic on the flight that the seatbelt wouldn't fit me - I do it everytime I fly. I refuse to feel like that in Sept when we head to the US for our 2 week holiday. I need to try and lose 2 stone by then.
The plus side is that I am now sick of the sight of food. Was back on track yesterday and I felt sick all day - I think I've stretched my stomach to its limits! No WI this week due to working away so I get a bit of time to hopefully undo the damage! Went swimming last night and managed 30 lengths at my usual snails pace - I really need to try and improve!
Going to attempt spinning tonight, hopefully if I strap my ankle up it should hold out. I'm working from home today (since 6am!) so I need to try and avoid the fridge
If I write this down I may stick to it:
B - Dry fried egg on 1 slice toast L - Pasta with creamy mushrooms D - Roast Chicken with veg
I have fruitĀ for snack - no crisps in the house so I should be ok!
Back to work then. Come on 1430 so I can go back to bed!
I have signed up to these to try and be a bit healthier in my snacking. I had my first one last week and it was really good, I got fresh pineapple, macadamia nuts and apple strudel - dried apples, cranberries and apricots.
3 portions of my 5-a-day and some healthy fats! Can't be bad really. It can easily last 2 days - unless you are a piglet like moi!
http://www.graze.com - if you sign up and use code N4D9KJ1 you get your first box free! Worth a go...
I had a weekend of overdoing it as usual - I seem to be in the mindset that I am off on holiday on Thursday so what's the point. I need a good kick up the backside! Had a lovely weekend with my parents, although Matt managed to get my mother so drunk on Friday she had the hangover from hell. Very funny!
WI tomorrow and then I will miss next week on account of cruising the Med, hopefully I will have time to get myself back on track!
Well, 2 pounds on - I think I may have gotten off lightly. I haven't been tracking for 2 weeks what with being on holiday so I am pretty happy with that.
Back on track today, we had a chinese and a few drinks last night but I didn't go overboard and I honestly don't want to stop leading a 'normal' life and having the odd takeaway every now and then.
Cereal for breakfast and a tuna salad for lunch - out tonight with the girls, but I'll have a bout 18 points to spare so I should be able to make a healthy choice!
Ankle is still stopping me doing exercise, is still huge! My parents are down at the weekend so I'll see what my mother's medical opinion is, hopefully I can get back to the gym next week before we head off on holiday AGAIN!
We are off on a mini cruise next Thursday with 4 friends - all of our meals are paid for already.... so I am going to have to try a bit of discipline! Not something I am overly good at.
Ok so I am back, not quite 100% at it, but back all the same. Had a lovely week off, spent Easter weekend in Prague for my friends Saps's wedding. The weather was amazing and it was really great to catch up with people who I've not seen for a while. The diet went out of the window, mainly due to drinking a lot of Czech beer :)
I did however manage to injure myself AGAIN! I fell down a pothole in my old street in Prague and went down like a ton of bricks. My ankle swelled to the size of a space hopper almost immediately. Great! Anyway, I've torn my ankle ligaments for the second time in 2 years so I officially have an excuse not to exercise Saying that however, I did walk more than I ever do while we were on holiday - typical.
The rest of the week the weather was pretty good, we had a trip to Wimbledon for a tour of the courts as Matt is tennis mad but the rest of the week we just spent at home.
I've not pointed anything for almost 2 weeks so tomorrow's weigh in is bound to be bad, but I am expecting it and fully prepared to get back on track.
My parents are down at the weekend which will be lovely, I hope the sun keeps shining!
Only another 7 working days then we are off on holiday again - The Cruise to Ibiza this time! Cannot wait for that, although diet will again be out of the window.
Ho hum.... no more hols then til September and I want to be at least another stone down by then.
I'll report back after tomorrows mammoth gain! Gulp.
Well, I didn't make spinning last night due to my utterly useless shoulder. I managed to tear my rotator cuff about a month ago (no I've no idea what it means either but it sounds bad) and since then I've had endless physio in an attempt to get it back to functional... Yesterday it decided it didn't want to play ball and I was almost at the stage where I couldn't move my arm again.
Rubbish. We also had a flipping chinese last night which was lush but totally not ideal. Anyway, a post WI treat is not the end of the world!
I've had a bacon sarnie this morning courtesy of my boss... I'll point that now and no doubt starve the rest of the day. I've also got a flipping Easter Egg on my desk. Good job I don't really have a sweet tooth.
So, very early start tomorrow to catch our flight to Prague and then a weekend of boozing and eating far too much. Back on track from Monday afternoon. Having spent 2.5 years living in Prague, I know its going to be very difficult to make healthy choices but I'll try!
Meeting the girls tonight for a couple of swift ones, but I'll drive so I don't go OTT. Exercise commences again next week.
Well I weighed in this morning and another 1.5 off. Not quite sure how that happened, but I'll definitely take it.
Weekends are my downfall, I don't seem to track properly and I definitely drink far too much. This weekend will be no different as we're in Prague for my friends wedding. Really looking forward to going back as its been nearly 2 years since my last visit.
Won't weigh in next week due to being on holiday so I guess I just need to try and be good once we get back.
Spinning tonight and then we are off to a new bar that has just opened... I'll try and stick to vodka and slimline....
hmmmmm, seems I went massively over points at the weekend which does not bode well for tomorrow's WI. I tried to cut back yesterday, but Matt dragged me to the pub last night and I just had to have a glass of wine.... Bah.
I'm working from home today as I have the joy of a filling at the dentist later, so hopefully that will stop me raiding the fridge all day.
I must go to the gym tonight.... she says, knowing full well I'll talk myself out of it!
Oh dear, I've not blogged for nearly a year. How rubbish is that?? So whats been going on? Job is going well, its not too stressful and to be honest I am just pretty pleased to be working given the current climate. I moved in with Matt so I now live in Caversham and it's all going pretty well. My flat is rented out until at least November so things are all going swimmingly really :)
Needless to say, last year ended up with me almost back where I started! I think it all started to go wrong after the holiday to Mexico, all inclusive = excuse to stuff my face. I started scale avoidance, avoided powerplate with the excuse that I had moved and just generally gave up trying to drop the pounds.
Anyway, since January, I've been trying to get myself back on track. Matt decided he wanted to drop some weight too so we joined a gym together. I signed up to WW online, but I was messing about far too much, totally kidding myself and pretending I was on track when I blatently wasn't. So 3 weeks ago I joined a WW class. I've lost 7.5 pounds since then which I am pretty pleased with.
So, from now on, I do solemly swear to do blog at least weekly, go to the gym at least 3 times a week and try to keep within my points most days... I am not going to beat myself up if I go over points, but I won't let one day become a bad week.
Well after last weeks gain I was determined to get myself a little bit back on track. Went away with the girls on Saturday to a spa hotel so I made sure I did 30 mins of swimming, we did have a massive meal that night and drank far too much but that was my only major blow out at the weekend. Thats got to be progress after last week! Sunday I spent most of the day painting so thats got to be a few bonus points earned too!
Started my new job on Monday and its going well so far, loads to learn and its quite a busy position, but I am really enjoying getting stuck in. On the plus side, I am hardly thinking about eating as I don't have time! I did powerplate last night and the scales showed a 3 pound loss so thats got to be a winner :o)
I've just had a stern telling off from my wii fit for being AWOL for 2 weeks.. how did that happen?? I am not sure I like being told off by a plastic board!! Anyway, did 32 mins (that extra 2 is very important!) and I am a blooming mess now! Hoping I can get to Powerplate in the morning before work, although I think the journey could be a nightmare.
One of my best mates is down at the weekend from Liverpool so we are off for a girlie lunch and a fair amount of beverages with the girls. I think I'll just have what I want and not stress too much about the diet, its my birthday on Tuesday after all!
Right, off to sort my lunch and work stuff for tomorrow. I am quite enthusiastic about work for once... how very bizarre!
