My 'own ' 5K

Hi all,

well hope everyone had a nice mother's day...I think mine enjoyed hers...I gave her some new shoes that she was eyeing and a bottle of perfume...the perfume was a gag gift because it was "american idol" perfume...who knew it even existed...anyways she is a huge fan so I thought she would get a chuckle out of it- funniest part is - It doesn't smell that bad!

I made a lot of time for exercise this weekend. I wa-ran on saturday.. ran and walked 3.2 miles (5K) and I did it in 43 minutes...very impressed with myself. Just one more thing that I have taken on (and sticking too!) to better my health!

Saturday night's grad party went pretty well- I barely ate all day ( I know - not healthy!) But I worked at Jenny craig on saturday mornng and we were so busy that by the time I realized I was hungry it was 12:30. But back to the party...I grazed on a few scoops with dip and one little pita chip with spinach artichoke dip and then had a little veal, and a stuffed shell- didn't go back for seconds and there was so much food with so many choices... I think I did well...

Walked on sunday too...not sure how much I can count though since it was pretty much a  casual jaunt around the lake - although my ipod told me I burned 500 calories... and I got sunburned (note to self: wear sunscreen!) I also need to add that I ate a delicious bagel for breakfast...(it was a sandwich- with smoked turkey, cuke, tomato, and spouts, cream cheese- (fattening but I had been craving it since december- the last time I ate it!)

drinking water today, lots of water- I don't think I got enough in yesterday. Remember to drink yours!

Back to the gym tonight,

Lindsay

Way to go!

Wow!  You are doing so well!

I had no idea there was AI perfume.  :)

Encouraging words to follow...

What is it about recording our successes and disappointments in these blogs that helps so much? I don't know. I like writing about what I did that I am proud of to reinforce the good. When I write about letting myself down I think it helps me let go of it and it does not have much power to damage me anymore. I like reading how other people--like yourself--have overcome or achieved something. You have a lot to be proud of. Keep doing what works and paying attention to yourself. You are worth the effort. Thanks for stopping by my blog and offering encouragement.
