Goals for April

April is approaching and due to reading another blog and seeing goals listed and thinking it was a great idea I am now creating mine for April.
My last WI and measure in is tomorrow.
My Big Goals for April!

  • To drop 5 pounds by the end of the month
  • Jump rope 3 times a week
  • Continue running 3 times a week and walking on off days.
  • Eat healthier and logg all my food that I have eaten.
  • Quit smoking - yes this is a big one.. I am a smoker and now that I am running more and becoming more healthier I want to quit smoking.  I'm going to start after this weekend.  As for now I've been limiting it so my body starts getting used to the withdrawl. (I KNOW ITS BAD PLEASE DO NOT LETURE ME LOL)

So hopefully I'll be able to reach all my goals.. and if anyone sees me slacking PLEASE PLEASE yell at me

hmmm subway I'm the next Jarred lol

no running today it was my resting day.  I still walked hard though.  Hard enough to build up a nasty sweat YUCK!  Hopefully I don't smell.  I'm going to spray some body spray on me just in case lol.

I changed my route today.  I didn't bring lunch so I needed to buy and switched up the route so I went by subway at the end.  I ordered a veggie patti sub on wheat.  Normally I would order a BLT or veal sub.  I ordered a footlong due to it being a deal.. (all footlongs $5.00)... nice way to fatten up america huh??  I only ate half of it and wrapped it up for lunch tomorrow and put it in the fridge. :)

Does anyone else look at food the way I do now?  Especially with all footlong subs being 5 bucks.. great way to fatten up america.  Or like the Mcdonalds ads where you can get 2 big macs for 2 bucks.  Does it make you cringe and go ewl?

Today so far I've been good on fooding..
Breakfast - yogurt
Lunch - 6 inch veggie patti sub
Snacks - apple, apple sauce and kashi peanut butter bar.

I'm not sure what's on the menu for dinner yet.  We are planning a date night tonight.. so I'm definitly going to watch what I eat and order.

wooohooo I ran today.  :)
I did great!  It was such a beutiful day I just HAD to take advantage of it.  I made sure to stretch really good before I went running also.  My mp3 player has been sucking lately.  grrr shutting off when it wants to.. not turning on when I want it to.. So 95% of my run today was tuneless.  I still kept the headphones in though so the ghetto thugs that walk around the city don't try hootin and hollaring when i run by.  It's annoying.. so even if my batteries are dead I still put in the headphones. lol

I'm getting excited for softball.  First practice is next Thursday.. god I'm going to be sore.  I think this weekend I'm going to steal my little brother and go do some fielding practice and hitting practice with him.  (He's 7 but is on a basseball team as well)
Hmmm I actually think that's a great idea.  

So today I did pretty well on the fooding.
Breakfast - Yogurt
Lunch - Progresso vegetable soup
snack - 3 carmel low fat rice cakes
snack - apple sauce

for dinner I'm meeting up with an old friend at TGI Fridays.  I will probably order fried green beans... ehhh fried.. dunno about that.. they are good but fried so I doubt it.  Maybe just a salad.

SO anyone catch the biggest looser last night!  OH MY I'm so proud of those girls! Alli is so looking good!  Anyone else notice they put her in a tighter shirt! lol

 

what a great weekend

Hello all you lovelys.  I had a fabulous weekend.
First of all I started the weekend by taking a half day at work.  It was my BF's bday weekend so we had alot of good things planned. 
Saturday was a beautiful day!  We drove around cruising here and there and to everywhere.  It was great.  We did a little bit of hiking also.  Then we went to his mothers for his bday/easter dinner.  That was good.  We then went to a friends house and hung with a few other friends and played darts for the rest of the night.. Meanwhile drinking beer.. (BAD LORI)
Sunday was the super bday plans and easter.  We went to my sisters house for easter dinner and it was so nice and simple. Ham, corn, green beans, mashed potatoes. Nice and simple.  I didn't over stuff myself.. ate on a small plate and so on.  We then went to play with my nephew for the next few hours.. drawing with chalk, finding easter eggs and enjoying the day.  Then we went down to the casino where I booked my bf and I a suite for his bday night.  we spent the night gambeling, drinking and well you know ;) bow chica bow bow... =) We only slept for a few hours.. woke up enjoyed the casino a bit more and took a cruise to the beach.  then we went home.  We did SOOOOOOOOOOOO much walking lol  and the hallway was wayy too long to our suite so we took the stairs about 5 or 6 times up 5 floors... WHOOOHOOOO killer workout lol.  I wish I wore my pedometer so I can see how much we walked.. I know we walked alot.. it even hurt my legs a bit by the end of the night lol.

So for the WI wooohooo
Saturday I woke up and WI.  wooohoooo I dropped another pound!  159.50 go me I'm so excited! The running is definitly paying off!  I went to go and measure yet I couldn't find my measuring tApe.  lol I guess thats what I get for trying to measure myself before I'm supposed to.  Softball starts next week I'm so stoked!  And I think my shin splints have healed so tomorrow I will be running again!  Till tomorrow tata :)

random thinking

well yesterday I didn't run at all or walk.  It was raining like crazy out and I didn't want to deal with wet feet for the rest of the day while at work.  Plus I think I needed a break. Today I picked up the pace and did my week 2 day 2 of C25K  for the second time. :) It is getting so much easier!  I think next week I'll bump it up to week 3 and see how I feel with that.  I went grocery shopping last friday night and I have been eating super duper well.  (I'm actually eating breakfast)  which I normally do not do.  I knwo I know it's so bad, but I'm always on the run and typically do not have the time to stop and make or grap something. 

My fooding lately has consisted of:
Yogurt - breakfast
Low carb wrap w/ american cheese, lettuce and organic low fat chicken breast.
Apple sauce
Apple
Kashi nut bar
(that that is all while at work!)
supper has been not so good.. We seriously get into dinner ruts lol.
We've had pasta with alfreado sauce and crab meat, yesterday porkchops baked with water andseasonings, rice and broccali.  It's not too too bad but I think we can be trying to eat abit better.  I have been watching my portion control and we haven't ate past 730 pm which isawesome!

My WI is Saturday!  I'm excited about it.. I'm hoping it will be a good one.. I really wantto take measurements... but Ill try to wait till April.  I don't want to take them every week!

I feel like I let myself down!

boy o boy.. I feel like I let myself and everyone down.
It's almost too embarrassing to write about. But I will.
My weekend was wild.

A bunch of friends and I went to a st.paddys day parade on saturday and started drinking at 9 AM.  Well by 10PM I was passed out at my mothers house.  Me on the couch boyfriend on the floor and we didn't wake up till 5PM the next day!!!!!  I missed the race, I feel like I let myself down!  :(  My BF tried making me feel better by saying.. "at least you were training for it, and you probably wouldof hurt yourself more if you went".  Which is true because my shins were KILLING me still from pushing myself last week to get in shape for this run.
So at least I trained for it, at least I donated.. I just never went and finished it. :(  Now I know my lesson.... don't drink the night before a 5k race.

On another note.  I decided to redo week 2 again, kindof like a punishment.  Also I'm not in a rush anymore and I'ld like to take my time transitioning from level to level.  SO yesterday I did week2 day 1 AGAIN.  lol I was able to jog alot better!  I even went my normal long walking route and I did great!  Except when I jogged up the stairs wooo I was out of breathe by then.. and I did ALL the reps.  Usually I miss out on 1 or 2 due to having to go back to work.  So week 2 Time 2 again here I come.. But I can honestly say I am starting to really enjoy jogging.  I'll be in so much better fitness by the time of the breast cancer run I want to do in May. And I am NOT punking out of that one.

I signed up for a softball leaque today!!!  I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!  I actually found a leaque through my work and they play in the next town over.. (my home town)
Practices and games start at the end of April.  I joined a recreational leaque.. Next year I'll do competetive.  I need to get my skills back first.  OHHH I'm so so so so happy. :)
I can't wait.  I'm going to try to get my dad to take me shopping for new cleats and what not.  haha like old times.. oh boy how i miss playing.. I'm sooooo Syked!!!

On another note
count down to 5k run.. woohooo 2 more days.  I was going to jogg today but I think I'm going to rest today and tomorrow so I don't hurt myself too much on Sunday lol. 

Lunch is coming up soon and boy I'm hungry.  We had left over pizza.. but I was happy I didn't bring that..  I have to stop eating so bad and get back on track with what I eat.  Today I brought salad and tuna.  Mix it together later... tada... tuna salad. with no dressing lol.. it's soooo good!

I'm doing great at starting to get my body into shape... now I have to adujst what I eat.  I gotta do some budgetting and see how much money I get this week and maybe do some grocery shopping.  We are so bad with that. ugh.  On top of that we are so bad with switching up what we eat week to week.  Alot of the times we find our selfs eating the same thing every week..  We need to figure out cheap good healthy meals to make..
I lovvvvvvvvvve suggestions if anyone has any!

this week will never end!  Finally it's 5pm and the phones are quiet for a few moments.. Breeeeeeeeathe in breeeeeeeeeathe out  wooooooo it's been one of those days. 

Well... I drank all my water for the day which is sometimes hard but I did great today!
I also did my jogg on lunch...
Why is it you feel so much thinner after you jogg.  I even was able to put my belt on the next loop without trying lol.  I did the loop for the race.. did it in about 20 mins.. So I'm guestimating that I'll get the 5k done in about 45 mins.  We'll see.

I was chatting with a girl here at work today.. She plays adult soccor (football for you mary ;) )  and I told her to keep an ear out for adult softball.  She sent me a link of a town here who is looking for softball players.  It's from April till August.. It would be great if I get back into playing softball.. I miss it SOOOOOOOOOOOO much!!!!  Seriously some of my best and worst moments and memories has been while I was playing softball.. I was good too :) super super good.

So I'll chat about it with the boyfriend tonight.  Tell him I'm thinking about doing this.. And maybe I'll sign up and do it. He'll probably give me the "you're so busy as it is already, we'll never have time together" speal.. I hope he doesn't.. We spend alot of time together and this would be me doing mything..  We'll see how it goes. He can come and watch my games :)

I pulled up the map of the race on Sunday and it looked super far, and I got so nervous.  Two laps in downtown hartford.  For lunch today I decided to walk 1 lap.  I walked 1 lap of the race in half an hour woohoo.. So I'll be under 1 hour if I'm jogging and walking it.
I'm so nervous.. lol tomorrow on lunch I'll jog that 1 lap and see how long it takes me.

Week 2 Day 2- check!

hello.. how is everyone???
Another crazy day here.. Lots of calls on hold.. finally slowed up a bit..

so today was my week 2 day 2 offically wooohoo
that kicked my butt..  you wouldn't think 60, or 90 seconds of jogging would hurt but man o man it does! tomorrow I'm going to take it easy.. don't want to hurt myself.. I'll still go for a good walk on lunch time though. 

I have that 5k walk/run on Sunday.  I'm excited but nervous also.  I'm only in week 2 so I'm not going to push myself to run the whole thing, hell no!!!  But I also don't want to come in last.  What ever I'm there to finish the race.. and be happy I did it.  I'll also have a time so I can judge where I am down the road to where I started from :)
But boy oh boy I'm nervous... I'm looking at this map of the run and I'm like WOW this is far!  don't think about it... Throw on my mp3 player and it's just another lunch time day.. I just got more time to use..

I pulled up a local website of all the runs that are going on in the area for the rest of the year.. oh man I'm definitly signing up for a few of these :)
There are also marathons!  Next year I'll start jumping in the marathons.. Thats my goal for 2009 right now I'm just trying to get my body used to running lol.
