Good afternoon everyone! This past weekend was another hellish weekend of working.. yet I was working for a catoring company instead of the DJ buisness.
Friday I didn't get my cardio or crunches in due to being sick/nausus and all. I didn't even eat Friday cuz I felt sickly. All I had was a banana and some bread. :(
Saturday i got HOLY cardio in! (Day 10 done) I worked at a airplane show as a food vendor and had to walk to the store two times for the managers. The store was about a mile away. So I walked 4 miles. Which was great due to all the crap I was eating cuz I didn't eat the day before. :(
Sunday I fixed my sisters computer, painted my dresser black and started painting some art work to hang in my bedroom.
Today starts the first full week of the ab challenge! I got my cardio in for today... A good 45 min brisk walk.. (boy it's getting chilly out there) Tonight I will do my crunches while watching heroes. I posted some ab videos in my blog last night for those of you who need some help.
Not sure what we are having for dinner tonight. I know something with ground turkey.. Maybe I'll make some chili since it is umm.. chilly out. Today for fooding I have: Banana grapes italian wedding soup (new cambells kind) then I guess Chili for dinner.
C'mon ladies! Lets get those abs into shape! Do them when ever you want.. watching TV.. Before work.. after work. etc etc... Let's make a habit out of this!
Ab Challenge is closed for sign ups for the month of October! These are the challengers:
Chantal MissyBelle SMSE Lauralynn lizzytish2002 wannalosew8t Chotee Monique Salsera SixPixieSticks Kate Who Ate GCQMom
Please add them and help support them with this months challenge. Please stay tuned for some articles and ab excercise instructions throughout the week. Look at the responces that MissyBelle stated in the last blog I had.
Wow guys... what a great response for the ab challenge! It's not too late to sign up. The first full week starts Monday. So if you want in let me know.
So far we have: Chantal MissyBelle SMSE raspberrycordial Lauralynn lizzytish2002 wannalosew8t Chotee Monique
Layralynn brought up a good point to me about adding elbow to knee's to also work our obliques.. So I'm going to try to do some research today and maybe come up with a set routine we all can do... I'll also hunt the internet for maybe some pics or videos or some of us who do not know how to do these.
Maybe like 5 right side crunches... 5 left side crunches... 5 elbow to knee crunches.. (counting on your right elbow) 5 regular crunches....
As each week progresses and up's the count another 25 the above styles of crunches will be upped as well to even the amount.
Now ladies.. remember crunches helps works the muscles in your abs but does not fully help destroy the fat. Keep up with your cardio and eating well throughout this process. And also remember that muscle helps burn fat! So the more muscle you do create the more it will help eat your fat away.. lol
Any questions or comments PLEASE feel free to ask or suggest.
Anyways... today I'm home sick :( Last night I ate some crab meat dip at Margarittaville and this morning was on the toilet ALLL morning! Not good. My butt could not make the 20 min car ride to work.. haha literally.
Last night I played my volleyball game.. YAY we won! After that we went out to dinner, then I came home did my first set of 25 crunches YAY.. took a shower and went to bed.
So far today for fooding all I have had was: Coffee (not that much) and a banana.
Good morning ladies! There is a good amount in this blog so please read it through... especially about the ab challenge I want to set up!.
This morning I WI and took measurements (which I haven't taken since May). My measurements went up since then :( But I'm going to take that realization and make it motivation. In mid October the BF and I will sign up at the YMCA. I went up a pound and a half since my last WI. I know muscle weighs more then fat so it could be muscle from the walking... only time will tell.
On another note.... Last night I made a 300 calorie dinner for under 4 dollars! Check this out... We got some gordons blackend cajuan tilapia which was only 100 calories, and we made rice which was about 200 calories a serving. The package of fish was only 3 bucks and the rice was $1 a box.. wooohooo eating good at a low budget. For desert I had about a half cup of low fat cottage cheese.
Tonight I have volleyball so day 9 cardio.. completed
I was thinking about creating a challenge for the whole month of October if anyone is willing to be up for it.
It's an ab challenge. I'm choosing Ab;s cuz crunches is the easiest thing to do at home yet I am never motivated to do them.
So the challenge will go like this if any one wants in..... ~Monday through Friday work outs. Giving everyone Sat and sun to rest. ~October 2nd - Oct 10th... - 25 crunches a day. ~Oct 13 - Oct 17... - 50 crunches a day. ~Oct 20 - Oct 24... - 75 crunches a day. ~Oct 27 - Oct 31... - 100 crunches a day.
Each week of the challenge we will bump up the crunches another 25. You don't have to do them all at once. 25 in the morning.. 25 at night.. which ever you perfer The goal of this challenge is to get us in the habit of doing a simple excercise at home that's free, and doing it daily.
SOooooooooo if you want in.. let me know. We'll only let 10 people in like MissyBelle's cardio challenge so we don't get over whelmed. Post daily on each others blogs and motivate each other.
For me writing this late in the day that's surprising. I have been super swamped with work this morning. I don't mind it cuz it helps the day go by faster. lol
Thanks for all your nice comments yesterday. You all are so sweet and hopefully I shed some happiness and light into all of yours day.
Yesterday we lost our games. It's alright though we still played very well. We only had 7 people to play so we really had to step up our A game. By the end of our games I was covered in sweat, hurt a mucle in my arm and have a nice sized bruise on my wrist. It was all fun though so I don't mind.
last night for dinner I made home made pizza. Well pretty much home made pizza. I didn't make the dough, or sauce. But I bought dough.. broke it up in half.. Used only one half so it was thin crusted. Put chicken breast strips on it, some saucse, low fat shreeded cheese and baked it for about 15-20 mins. It was really good. Brought some for lunch today. Next time I would love to make my own dough and make it with whole weat. I think that would be healthier. I need to find out how to make my own dough though lol I'm no betty crocker lol.
Today it's raining and drewery out. I really want to go walking on lunch. Hopefully the rain will subside so I can do so. Actually speaking of it.. it's actually looking like it's clearing up a bit.. So maybe it has stopped :) I'll update you all later...
Lunch time!!!!!!!
edit!
Day 8 Completed!
On lunch I realized I actually had an hour and a half today! GESH! So I walked around the park 4 times! 1 hour 10 mins of cardio done!
WoooHooo I just finished a class last night. I get a one week break and onto the next class. For those who don't know, I go to the art insitute of pittsburg. I am in thier online division. My major is multimedia webdesign and graphics. Each class is 5.5 weeks and they are super excellerated. Cramming a full symester of work into 5 and a half weeks is hard and there is alot of information to process, but so far I have maintained a 4.0 gpa. Ask me to do this right after high school I would have failed miserably. Now at 27 years old I'm making a change in my life for the better.
WooooHooo Yesterday day 6 completed. I took a brisk 45 min walk on my lunch. It was a nice day out, not too hot yet sunny and beautiful. Today I have a volleyball game. We are playing against the number 1 team who is also undefeated. A bunch of our crew is not coming today because they are going to the new kids on the block concert.. lol So I will be super playing with space to move around and try to smack that ball over the net. Let's hope we win at least 1 of the 4 games.
WooooHoooo EP loaded up pages fast this morning! YAY hopefully they figured out the issues and fixed them up from happening again. I now can go around and comment on all of your beautiful pages.
WoooHoooo Dinner was great last night. The BF didn't make a big deal about eating whole grain pasta. He just didn't like the thin aspect of it. Hopefully they will come out with whole grain liguine and he'll be a super happy camper.
Back to routine. This weekend was actually an odd weekend for me. I didn't have to go no where or do anything. It was wierd not being in a rush and actually relaxing for once.
Friday and Saturday I completed my cardio goals. Friday night I went dancing with my mother hehehe (she's so cool). And Saturday I went shopping with my mother and we parked EXTREMELY far away so we had to walk. Sunday.. well Sunday I did a whole lot of nothing. Played video games, started dinner around 2pm in crock pot ate around 630 PM. Oh we built a book shelf that I bought at ikea with my mom the day before. Besides that we really did nothing. And that is super rare.
It has rained here all weekend. So going out side for much was not an option.
Today I'm going to take my brisk 45 min lunch walk. I gotta figure what day I'm on. I forgot, and EP has been running SUPER slow since friday. It takes a few minutes for the actual blog words to come up on everyone's pages.. Grrrr AH HA I counted... Today would be day 6 for me, considering I missed cardio yesterday. Otherwise it would be day 7.
Today for food I have: banana Breakfast bar Plumb Apple sauce Left over boneless short ribs.. (only 2) For dinner we are planning: Whole wheat pasta w/ red sauce w/ ground turkey, mushrooms, garlic Salads.
Yes that is what my post is about today. Good healthy decisions. First of all TOM is here as of yesterday and boy it hurts! Yesterday I was super crampy as well as super tierd especially around 3 oclock. I got up to go to the vending machine.. (bad lori) I needed something with some sugar in it to help keep me awake. Standing at the vending machine I made a good choice and choose the non salty trail mix which contained peanuts, shellless sunflower seeds, and raisins. I was going to choose something chocolaty for the sugar and to ease my TOM pains. SOOO that was good decision #1 of the day!
I played volleyball for 1.5 hours last night, so day 3 of the challenge is done. WOOOOHOOOOO After volleyball we hit the grocerystore. I forgot it was tom for me and was hurting through out the grocery store. It felt like someone punched me in the stomach. And the BF goes well you said you had cramps earlier today.. DUHHHHHHHHH I totally forgot it was TOM lol.
So at the grocery store I made a deal with the BF. hehehe For everything non healthy he gets, we have to get something we normally get but in a healthy version. This actually worked out well. SO he got pop tarts. I made him get whole wheat pasta. He got some candyish cereal I made him get whole grain Tostitos instead of the normal ones. He got something else. I made him get whole grain bread. He even opted to get his tropicana orange aid in a fat free sodium free kind instead of the normal kind. I even was able to pick up some tilipa for us for dinner some night. I figure with the little game like that we can prevent diabetes from hitting him strong, we both would be eating better together, and it will help me attain the goals I want for myself.
After the grocery store we got home around 8pm which was too late to make a whole big dinner. So I made myself a provalone cheese and ham sandwhich on the whole weat bread.. It was sooo yummy. and I was full but not over stuffed which is great. I ended up going to bed right after survivor due to not feeling well and now here I am today.
I'm feeling a bit better still alittle crampy. It's downpouring rain here and will be for the next few days. I do not know yet how I'm going to get my cardio in due to it being nasty out. But I'll figure something out. Maybe jump rope for 10 mins each day. I can do that in my garage. Hmmm actually that sounds like a great plan. TGIF! I have so much school work and web work I have to catch up on this weekend, my class ends on SUnday so I need to have everything in by then. OK going to check up on all of you know. Hope you all have a great weekend!
Went for another 45 min walk yesterday on my lunch. Today I only have a half hour lunch so the cardio will be a bit hard to do. But I also have a volleyball game tonight.. does that count? Or not really due to the fact there isn't really that much cardio invovled. If it doesn't I'll make the BF do pushups or crunches with me later.
Thank you all for your kind words yesterday especially with your concerns, stories and so on with diabetes. We are to go grocery shopping tonight, so I'll try picking up some whole grain pasta instead of the regular pasta. Simple little things help alot. I printed out a few WW recipes that even the BF said looks good. So we're going to make a few of those for dinners.
Last night we tried to go grocery shopping at a different store we usually don't go to... Stew leonards if any of you ever heard of it. At first it seemed cool then we started realizing that the prices were way more expensive then our typical stop and shop. So we left our carriage there in the middle of the grocery store and left. I feel bad for doing so but that place is such a maze and I wasn't putting everything back lol. For dinner we ended up going to ruby tuesday where I ate salad and had some baked tilapia with brown rice and broccali.. Oh it was soooo good! I didn't eat it all and brought it for my lunch today lol.
We STILL haven't gotten a new car yet. The bank is having issues because he is a 1099 employee and doesn't have a schedual C for his taxes. It is just a big stressful mess. Honestly don't feel like chatting about it at the moment. Over all I think either he wont be able to get a car or I'll have to buy the car in my name and after he gets his taxes done professionally this year have him refinance it. We will see.
