Feeling more together! All day yesterday I had a super headache. Definitly wouldof been a migraine if I didn't catch it in time. After I got out of work the BF and I went to get sushi. After eating sushi I actually felt better, about time! We then went home and decided to do grocery shopping today instead.
I watched the biggest loser last night woohoo! While watching it I did two loads of laundry, did the dishes, cleaned our bedroom, re-organized my closet (pulled the long sleeve shirts up to the front), and changed the sheets on my bed. After having a busy weekend full of work I wasn't able to clean my house and it made me feel not together. Now with at least my bedroom cleaned and dishes done I'm starting to feel more together.. Tonight planning on doing bathroom 1 and our media room, as well as the cat box.
In yesterdays post I asked for some recipes anyone can send my way. While watching the biggest loser they made food and gave a website for biggest loser recipes. They said each dish they made last night was under 7 dollars! Which is great. I'm going to hunt a few of those down tonight.
OMG my BF woke up about diabetes! The bf was listening to the biggest loser while he was playing a computer game. Diabetes runs very strong in his family! His mother is over weight with diabetes so bad she is actually on an insulin pump and she just started diayisis for her kidney about a month ago. My BF refuses to go get tested for diabetes. I keep trying to tell him that we can prevent diabetes... his mother did not excercise and eat right and let her self get over weight and have these issues. If he has prediabtes (like his sister does) now we can do things to prevent it (like she is doing). He is scard and doesn't want to know. I told him that he better get checked before he asks me to marry him, because I will NOT marry him if he doesn;t.. He said he will do that.. so we will see...... SOOOO back to him listening to the biggest loser... after the two guys got kicked off last night and they were doing the 4 month later interview one of the guys said... "My diabetes has went away!" And I said "See baby you hear that!" He was wow'ed by it. Then this morning he says to me.. "I was thinking Sunday we go for a good mountain bike ride through a state park." BINGO!!!! maybe that sunk in a bit. I still want him to get checked for diabetes.. I'll even get checked with him. You would think he sees the suffering his mother is going through with this disease and he would want to prevent this from happening to him early. We'll see.
Anyways... TOday on lunch I plan on doing another 45 min walk woohoo. Day 2 of 22. I gotta keep this up. The weekends will be the hardest part but I can do this!
For fooding today: Banana Plumb nutrigrain bar Soup. I think for dinner we are having pasta.

Diabetes
Almost everyone in my family has diabetes, mom, dad, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and I know it is just a matter of time before I get it. That is why losing this weight is so important to me. I want to have a baby but I need to lose weight before I do. Both my mom and my aunt got gestational diabetes while they were pregnant and the diabetes never left. Both were overweight going into the pregnancy. Anyhow...Congrats on the walk and good luck with that bike ride!
I am excited to be joining the exercise challenge. I have found a cook book titled "Real Simple" that has a lot of natural foods and simple ingredients. The recipes are fairly easy. I'm not good about knowing them off the top of my head. I'm curious about the recipe from the BL you talked about. I have missed this season so far due to school work, but I love the show.
When BL first came out, I was horrified. I thought it was an awful exploitation and horrible premiss. Then I watched a couple of episodes and saw the education, counseling, and encouragement going on and got hooked.
And hey, if they can succeed then I can succeed, right?
Great job on the cleaning you did!! I know how it feels when the house is cleaned and neat. Drives me crazy.
So happy to hear that the BF woke up to the fact that he needs to take care of himself!!!
I still have to go and get my sugars retested. Still want to give myself a few more weeks with the working out. Maybe I will test lower if I keep up with the workouts!
Just wanted to check in and see how you are doing with the 21 day challenge. Sounds like your right on track!!!
Diabetes runs in my family as well, but my mom actually died of NASH disease which comes from being overweight. It actually causes cirrhosis of the liver. It's common for those who are diabetic or pre-diabetic.
So it's time to fight the good fight....and get in shape. No more denying the possibility of diabetes. It's time to do something about it.
That's really good news about your BF!! He just needs to have faith that things CAN change for the better!
Speaking of having faith. I have faith in you that you can do this challenge and make a difference in your weight. You're off to a good start, so keep it up!
I'm plenty old enough and heavy enough to have diabetes, but I've always eaten a little healthier than most people --- so, I don't have it at all!!!! Suggestions: cut way down on sugar, eat only whole grain breads, pasta, spaghetti and only brown rice! That will go a LONG way in helping to prevent diabetes!!
