One more time... http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/lenee Some Lessons Are Best Learned the Hard Way en All rights reserved Weight loss extrapounds v2 http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/tech/rss 1440 http://www.extrapounds.com/images/avatars/users/lenee.gif Avatar http://www.extrapounds.com/ 100 100 Some Lessons Are Best Learned the Hard Way Hump Day! http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/lenee/comments/203739/hump-day <p>Only 2 1/2 more working days before the official start of my vacation.&nbsp; Things have been super busy at work this week trying to wrap things up before being out&nbsp; for a week.&nbsp; My boss is on vacation next week too so we are both under the gun (and slightly fearful to leave our counterparts at the wheel).</p> <p>I have been back on my JC plan all week and started my workout schedule again on Monday.&nbsp; I skipped my workout yesterday because we ended up going to a baseball game last night and were up really late on Monday night helping a friend move.&nbsp; Tonight it's back on the treadmill and I plan to hit it every day for the rest of the week before leaving for Vegas on Sunday.&nbsp;&nbsp; Oh - and yay for me!&nbsp; I was able to run for 2 1/2 minutes on the treadmill without dying or causing myself serious injury.&nbsp; It feels so satisfying to see and feel my fitness level improve.&nbsp;&nbsp; A month ago I was huffing and puffing trying to walk at 3.0 mph.&nbsp; </p> <p>Starting tomorrow we are dog-sitting for my in-laws until Sunday night.&nbsp; I'm really not looking forward to it.&nbsp; I don't mind helping out family but the timing couldn't be worse. It's hard enough to handle my own dog with everything going on but now we're adding a high-energy, high-maintenance springer spaniel to the mix.&nbsp; I mean how I am I supposed to get all of my&nbsp; very important pre-vacation tasks completed???&nbsp; There is hair to be highlighted and cut,&nbsp;nails to be painted,&nbsp;costume and accessory decisions to be made, and undies to wash....&nbsp;not to mention packing all of my shoes.&nbsp;&nbsp;Oh and I guess I better go grocery shopping so hubby doesn't starve with me and his Mom out of town.&nbsp; Somehow I think I will manage!&nbsp;&nbsp;: - )</p> <p>Check in with you all&nbsp;later!&nbsp; </p> <a href="http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/lenee/comments/203739/hump-day">Comments(3)</a> 203739 Friday, December 8, 2006 00:01:12 No pain, no gain... http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/lenee/comments/202884/no-pain-no-gain <p>Hi Everyone!&nbsp; I'm sorry I've been away so long but I ran into some trouble on Thursday night.&nbsp;&nbsp; Late that night I started to not feel very well and soon after started vomiting and other unpleasant things (you get the picture...) This lasted until Friday afternoon when I finally felt a little better and was able to eat some toast and drink some water.&nbsp; So needless to say I did not have a very pleasant weekend.&nbsp; I'm feeling much better now and am pretty much back into my routine.</p> <p>The silver lining is when I weighed in over the weekend I was down almost 5 pounds.&nbsp; My JC consultant was very excited and claimed that I have now shrunk my stomach even smaller and should be able to sustain the loss.&nbsp; We'll see...I'm going to do my best not to fill it back up again.&nbsp; </p> <p>Talk to you soon!&nbsp; I'm off to check on my friends.</p> <a href="http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/lenee/comments/202884/no-pain-no-gain">Comments(5)</a> 202884 Wednesday, December 6, 2006 21:00:11 Ugh! http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/lenee/comments/201636/ugh <p>This cold and TOM are kicking my butt this week.&nbsp;&nbsp; I'm sticking with my diet but my workout plan has gone to hell.&nbsp; Enough said...</p> <p>I hope everyone else is having a good week.&nbsp; I'll check in soon.</p> <a href="http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/lenee/comments/201636/ugh">Comments(2)</a> 201636 Wednesday, December 6, 2006 22:05:16 Monday Blues http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/lenee/comments/200764/monday-blues <p>Ugh...another Monday.&nbsp; Not only did I start with a cold over the weekend (lovingly supplied by hubby) but TOM arrived this morning.&nbsp; It was a real struggle to get up and get myself together.&nbsp;&nbsp; </p> <p>I had a pretty quiet weekend.&nbsp; As promised, Harry Potter arrived on Saturday morning and I spent about 24 hours straight reading until I finished the book.&nbsp;&nbsp; I won't go into any details except to say that there were many tears and&nbsp;the book is beautifully written.&nbsp; I know this may sound crazy but I was kind of depressed for the rest of the day after I read it.&nbsp; I miss Harry, Ron and Hermione already.&nbsp; </p> <p>Oh...and weigh-in went well on Saturday morning.&nbsp; Dropped another pound since last week.</p> <p>Have a great Monday everyone and I will check in soon.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <a href="http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/lenee/comments/200764/monday-blues">Comments(7)</a> 200764 Wednesday, December 6, 2006 22:03:09 TGIF http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/lenee/comments/200016/tgif <p>Another week gone!&nbsp; I'm anxiously awaiting the minute that Harry Potter is delivered to my door tomorrow morning.&nbsp; I hope the UPS man doesn't get&nbsp;hi-jacked on his way...&nbsp; I'm also hoping weigh-in goes well tomorrow.&nbsp; I have been a good girl this week, accomplished all of my goals, and worked-out 4 days.&nbsp; Here's hoping it pays off on the scales like last week.</p> <p>On the way back from lunch I had a huge challenge.&nbsp; Every summer the building that I work in has an ice cream social in the lobby.&nbsp; Well, today is ice cream social day.&nbsp; They had really good flavors and yummy toppings but I held firm and refused to give in.&nbsp; I think I was only able to&nbsp;resist because tomorrow is&nbsp;weigh-in day.&nbsp; If the social had been on a Monday I probably would have made a different decision.&nbsp; But lucky for me it was today, Friday, and I just told myself &quot;Think about the JC lemon cake you get to have tonight. That's way better than ice cream.&quot;&nbsp; My brain answered &quot;No, it's not! Part II http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/lenee/comments/195974/woo-hoo-part-ii <p>Hi Everyone,</p> <p>Sorry for the short post on Saturday.&nbsp; It was a busy weekend.&nbsp; As I mentioned on Sarturday, I&nbsp;was really planning on treating myself on Saturday night but somehow that just never seems to work out.&nbsp; That night, Hubby and I met some friends at a local vineyard for an outside concert.&nbsp; There was going to be wine and really yummy food.&nbsp; I am still committed to laying off the alohol for another couple of weeks but I was planning to indulge in some of the food.&nbsp; I selected a $9 crabcake that looked just delicious but doesn't it figure that it tasted horrible!&nbsp; Hubby ended up finishing it and I ended up eating fruit and veggies.&nbsp;&nbsp; So there was no treat on Saturday.&nbsp; I ended up settling for a small mocha-lite frapuccino from Starbucks on Sunday.&nbsp; It was good but not really what I had in mind.&nbsp; Oh well...hopefully I will get another shot next weekend.&nbsp; Maybe some popcorn at the new Harry Potter movie??...</p> <p>No major plans for the rest of this week.&nbsp; Tonight is my book club night but I think I am going to eat my JC dinner before I go and just have my snack there.&nbsp; </p> <p>Talk to you soon! <img src="http://www.extrapounds.com/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/wink_smile.gif" /></p> <p><strong><u>Goals for the Week</u></strong></p> <ol> <li>Drink my water.</li> <li>Drink my milk.
