Hump Day!

Only 2 1/2 more working days before the official start of my vacation.  Things have been super busy at work this week trying to wrap things up before being out  for a week.  My boss is on vacation next week too so we are both under the gun (and slightly fearful to leave our counterparts at the wheel).

I have been back on my JC plan all week and started my workout schedule again on Monday.  I skipped my workout yesterday because we ended up going to a baseball game last night and were up really late on Monday night helping a friend move.  Tonight it's back on the treadmill and I plan to hit it every day for the rest of the week before leaving for Vegas on Sunday.   Oh - and yay for me!  I was able to run for 2 1/2 minutes on the treadmill without dying or causing myself serious injury.  It feels so satisfying to see and feel my fitness level improve.   A month ago I was huffing and puffing trying to walk at 3.0 mph. 

Starting tomorrow we are dog-sitting for my in-laws until Sunday night.  I'm really not looking forward to it.  I don't mind helping out family but the timing couldn't be worse. It's hard enough to handle my own dog with everything going on but now we're adding a high-energy, high-maintenance springer spaniel to the mix.  I mean how I am I supposed to get all of my  very important pre-vacation tasks completed???  There is hair to be highlighted and cut, nails to be painted, costume and accessory decisions to be made, and undies to wash.... not to mention packing all of my shoes.  Oh and I guess I better go grocery shopping so hubby doesn't starve with me and his Mom out of town.  Somehow I think I will manage!  : - )

No pain, no gain...

Hi Everyone!  I'm sorry I've been away so long but I ran into some trouble on Thursday night.   Late that night I started to not feel very well and soon after started vomiting and other unpleasant things (you get the picture...) This lasted until Friday afternoon when I finally felt a little better and was able to eat some toast and drink some water.  So needless to say I did not have a very pleasant weekend.  I'm feeling much better now and am pretty much back into my routine.

The silver lining is when I weighed in over the weekend I was down almost 5 pounds.  My JC consultant was very excited and claimed that I have now shrunk my stomach even smaller and should be able to sustain the loss.  We'll see...I'm going to do my best not to fill it back up again.

Ugh!

This cold and TOM are kicking my butt this week.   I'm sticking with my diet but my workout plan has gone to hell.  Enough said...

Monday Blues

Ugh...another Monday.  Not only did I start with a cold over the weekend (lovingly supplied by hubby) but TOM arrived this morning.  It was a real struggle to get up and get myself together.  

I had a pretty quiet weekend.  As promised, Harry Potter arrived on Saturday morning and I spent about 24 hours straight reading until I finished the book.   I won't go into any details except to say that there were many tears and the book is beautifully written.  I know this may sound crazy but I was kind of depressed for the rest of the day after I read it.  I miss Harry, Ron and Hermione already. 

Oh...and weigh-in went well on Saturday morning.  Dropped another pound since last week.

TGIF

Another week gone!  I'm anxiously awaiting the minute that Harry Potter is delivered to my door tomorrow morning.  I hope the UPS man doesn't get hi-jacked on his way...  I'm also hoping weigh-in goes well tomorrow.  I have been a good girl this week, accomplished all of my goals, and worked-out 4 days.  Here's hoping it pays off on the scales like last week.

On the way back from lunch I had a huge challenge.  Every summer the building that I work in has an ice cream social in the lobby.  Well, today is ice cream social day.  They had really good flavors and yummy toppings but I held firm and refused to give in.  I think I was only able to resist because tomorrow is weigh-in day.  If the social had been on a Monday I probably would have made a different decision.  But lucky for me it was today, Friday, and I just told myself "Think about the JC lemon cake you get to have tonight. That's way better than ice cream."  My brain answered "No, it's not! But keep telling yourself that...."

Hunger Update

Well my hunger continued into last night but thankfully today is a new day and I seem to be back to my regular, satisfied self.  Thanks for all of your great suggestions and support.

I'm Hungryyyyyy...

Why am I so hungry today?  I've eaten my full breakfast, lunch and snack and I'm still hungry.  About a half hour ago I broke down and ate a handful of pistachios.  Hopefully that will take the edge off because I am out of snacks until dinner.  I'm surprised at my hunger because I worked out hard this morning and usually that will curb my hunger for the day.  And I really haven't been hungry in general for the past few weeks.  Maybe it's just a case of the Mondays.  Oh well...almost quitting time and then I can get out of here and get my mind on something else.

So, my dog-sitting weekend went pretty well.  A little on the boring side.  It always is when you are staying at someone else's house but at least I had some time to relax.  I also got to visit with my Grandmother on Saturday night and that was nice.  AND I finally got to have the crabcake I have been dreaming about for the past few weeks.  It was so good and so worth the wait.  I had it with 2 sides of veggies so I think it was a well-balanced low cal meal over all.  Yesterday when I got home I did some things around the house and did the grocery shopping for the week.  I also did all of hubby's laundry.   He is amazed at how much energy I have now.  And how much fresher his clothes are smelling...

The Payoff!

I am so glad that I stuck to my plan and did that 4th workout this week.  The payof was huge - I'm down 2.8 lbs.  since last Satureday for a total of 11!  Yay!!!!   If that's not motivation to keep moving than I don't know what is.

Whew...what a week

Work has been so busy this week.  I have worked late almost every night.   At least it made the week go fast but I sure am tired now that it's Friday.  I can't wait to sleep in a little bit tomorrow.  Luckily I have been doing all of this excercising stuff and it's giving me lots more energy.  And I'm so proud...I managed to do my workout 4 days this week instead of 3.  In a few more weeks I'm going to try and increase it to 5. 

We don't have a lot going on this weekend.  Tomorrow I am going to dog-sit at my parent's house until Sunday night. That is destined to be an adventure.  Last night we went to a late showing of Harry Potter.  It was really good and definitely worth being sleepy this morning.

Woo Hoo! Part II

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for the short post on Saturday.  It was a busy weekend.  As I mentioned on Sarturday, I was really planning on treating myself on Saturday night but somehow that just never seems to work out.  That night, Hubby and I met some friends at a local vineyard for an outside concert.  There was going to be wine and really yummy food.  I am still committed to laying off the alohol for another couple of weeks but I was planning to indulge in some of the food.  I selected a $9 crabcake that looked just delicious but doesn't it figure that it tasted horrible!  Hubby ended up finishing it and I ended up eating fruit and veggies.   So there was no treat on Saturday.  I ended up settling for a small mocha-lite frapuccino from Starbucks on Sunday.  It was good but not really what I had in mind.  Oh well...hopefully I will get another shot next weekend.  Maybe some popcorn at the new Harry Potter movie??...

No major plans for the rest of this week.  Tonight is my book club night but I think I am going to eat my JC dinner before I go and just have my snack there.
