Who knew?
Well, the leaf turned brown. LOL I had good intentions but they just fell by the wayside when life got in the way. I know, excuses...excuses. But I don't have any more time for those. Tomorrow is my first day with my new trainer. See, I have this "great" perk at my workplace. We have a gym that we can use free of charge. They even have personal trainers (FREE!!!). But I haven't used it. I have worked here for 12 years now and been in that building (it's in a separate building) a total of 5 times. But last week I walked in and signed a contract to work with a personal trainer for 8 weeks. I work with her 1 day a week and promise to work out 2 other days of the week on my own.
What caused this change? I guess you would need to understand my childhood. I was an athlete. I played baseball. Not softball, baseball from the time I could walk until I was 13 and my Dad thought I was a little too developed to play with the boys anymore. Then I switched to softball. I throw really hard and I hit hard, can't run worth a darn but then again never could (nickname was molasses in High School
). I also played volleyball but softball and baseball were really my sports. I played at University when I went away to school. I only stopped when I was out of school and couldn't find a team anymore. Then I found my church league. It wasn't competitive but it was playing so I was happy. Then I had my youngest daughter and they disbanded the coed leagues and since then I have been doing nothing. That was 5 yrs ago. This summer I received an offer from an aquaintence to play on a competitive team! I was excited but not really worried that I could do it because, well I always could before. WRONG! I tried practicing one time and quickly realized that I am so out of shape that I wouldn't be able to play.

So I made the decision to start now in getting back into shape and losing weight. Maybe this decision will stick since I am doing it for me this time instead of someone else.

). I was never thin but I was healthy and not obese. Then came college graduation and marriage and then babies...next thing you know the only thing I want to do is take the night and sit quietly in front of the tv or sit quietly reading a book. I guess quiet is the key word there.
