My body is on some crazy roller coaster when compared with DH. We have a chart on the fridge that marks our percentage of weight loss over time and his has been slow and steady. I have been up down up down. What drives me crazy is that we compare what we eat and I eat much more consistently and healthily than he does. I use a good deal less points per week, too. I'm 5'2" and he's 5'9" so we know he's allowed more points per day, but sometimes he goes crazy at work and eats something really bad, then on the weekend we both use a lot of flex points, then on Monday he ends up losing and I gain. Then the next week he will either lose a little or stay the same and I will have a huge loss. Right now our weight loss percentage is almost exactly the same. Who will win? It's anyone's game. I'm rooting for me!
If you haven't guessed, he lost a little bit this week and I gained a couple pounds. We both ate the same amount of food on the weekend and I ate better than he did throughout the week. Oh, and I exercised 180 minutes this week and he only did about 40 minutes. Grrr, men!

Slow and steady wins the race!
When DH & I were both losing together, he was losing easily and I was really frustrated. He lost 52 pounds in 5 months and I lost 44 pounds in 9 months. However, I've been maintaining my weight loss for over a year now and he has gained back 20 pounds in the past several months!!! Now, that sucks for him, but my theory is that the longer it takes to reach your goal, the better off you will be at maintaining. It totally sucks that he gained 20 back, though. Better him than me!!! :)
Uh oh, bruises, huh? Well at least she lived through it! I'm only in the beginning of Eclipse....its at a very boring part right now so I haven't picked it up in a few days. I just hope I finish it before the movie! :)
Hey Leanne! That is frustrating I'm sure especially on the weeks that you gain, especially since you're both eating the same food & you're eating less of it! It seems true across the board though with men vs. women -- do you watch the biggest loser? The men usually lose at least double each week compared to the women -- and we all know they are all working really hard. (Having said that, it's still pretty unrealistic when the lowest loser "only" loses 9 lbs in a week! )
Good luck to both of you having said that and don't let this week's WI stop you. Everyone's body is different and yours obvs. just needs more time to adjust!
It can be so frustrating and is definately not fair. But men do need a lot more energy and can get away with more.Absolutely ticks me off sometimes.............
