Remember two weeks ago when I gained a bunch even though I was on plan and worked super hard? Then I lost 5 pounds the next week. Well this week I gained 2.3 pounds. Now I'm back at the original weight I was 3 weeks ago. In fact, I'm slightly heavier.
For the last 3 weeks I have been almost flawless. I have been on plan, worked out 6 days a week for 45 minutes on average, getting in healthy foods and not binging like I used to, drinking 80 ounces of water a day, taking a multi-vitamin. I often ate my activity points when I was feeling hungry and I usually used at least half of my weekly flex points, too. Because we're supposed to use them if we want them and still lose weight. Right?
Anyway, now what do I do? Give up all my AP's and Flex that I'm supposed to be able to use? Eat 1100 calories a day straight up, no leeway? That doesn't sound right to me. I have done this before and don't recall having this much weight fluctuation while doing the right thing. As I'm sitting here, I feel bloated and yucky like there's a bowling ball sitting in my stomach. No, I'm not pregnant. I'm on my period as we speak (TMI, yeah I know). You're supposed to gain water weight the week before your period with PMS, not the week you are on your period. Right?
You all are so wonderful with your support and I could really use some right now. This morning I just wanted to give up when I saw the scale because I've gotten nowhere in my efforts.

TMI
FOr me.. I always gain 3-5 pounds during the week of my period. that is the time of month that my body shows the gain ...
Don't get discouraged. I know as much as you want to just not battle with it you can do it. I know you can. I have seen you do it and I know you can. Sometimes we get these hard, hard hills we have to overcome and the sucky part of it all is that its a large mountain. You have to keep on going and not give up as much as you want to physically, mentally your mind is telling you to keep on pushing. Things happen like your TOM and what not you are on the right track and thats what matters!!! Keep on the positive attitude and push through!!! Im here for you whenever you need it!
...about the TOM thing....haha Thanks for the support girly. The scale did go down a bit this morning and I'm actually not hungry cuz I feel all icky...ya know? I bet when TOM goes home, that scale is gonna drop for ya. Hang in there!
TOM is a crazy time. For me it usually affects me the week before, but you really never know. Sometimes things are weird. Don't do anything drastic with your diet yet. I think you are doing beautifully what with keeping up the exercise, the water, and vitamins, and most of all, NOT BINGING! I wish I could say I had a perfect last week, but I didn't (you gave me too much credit. Travel is hard. I do well about 1/2 the time....) so I know exactly what you mean when you say "THIS SUCKS! I'm back to where I was a month ago!" But we have to just keep on going, both of us. I really think that we will both ride this out and post much better numbers next week. Don't let this get you down. It's a new week, you are going strong, the scale will come around. Repeat this to yourself!
You have to hang in there!!! You can do it, Leanne! No, thats not true about the water weight gain being only the week before your period. I have years and years of experience on this, so trust me, ok? I sometimes gain a few before, but sometimes the weight gain doesn't show up until the first day or two. There is no rhyme or reason. I have said it before and I will say it again: our weight can fluctuate as much as SIX pounds during Tom from beginning to end! So, you may gain 3 pounds on day 1, but end up being 2 or 3 pounds down the day after Tom vacates! It is 3 steps forward, 1 huge leap back, and it sucks, but it is what it is. It will all work out. We're all here for you!! I hope you feel better tomorrow. Friggin' hormones, huh?!!
Yes, it does feel better to get my feelings down! Thanks for the comment!
Leanne, it's so good to hear from you. I have no idea why you're not loosing or that your flucuating to much. I'm so sorry. I know that I've had some of my AP's and have had about half my flexies and I'm still lingering at last week's late. I guess maybe some of us aren't so lucky? Like those that can eat and eat and still loose. I have no idea! It sucks! I'm here with you though!
My weight fluctuates before, during and after TOM - ah the joys of being female! Keep doing what you're doing - it HAS to come off eventually. I'm sure you're not gaining fat, so don't worry.
Hang in there Leanne! Do you think maybe you are gaining muscle weight, too? It sounds like you have been working out a lot - could that be a reason? Either way, you can do it :) Just stick to what you have been doing! And I definitly wouldn't give up your flex points, you should be able to enjoy yourself once in a while! :)
I'm sure it is just water weight from either TOM, muscles or how about stress. Are you stressed right now? That can even make you retain water. You are doing everything right but please don't go as low as 1100 calories. You should never eat less than 1200 to get all your nutrients. Maybe you are eating to less? And your body is hanging on to the weight scared to let it go.
Try the Wendy plan. I've seen it online so just google the wendy WW plan and try what she suggests. It had worked for me in the past when I followed WW.
Maybe banish the scale altogether and take measurements and go by clothing fitting better? have a smaller pair of pants or a top you're trying to fit into? You know you've lost inches when clothes fit again.
Keep at it. It's frustrating and the scale doesn't tell all :) maybe you're gaining muscle. Are you lifting weights?
IMHO - I bloat the "week" of PMS (mid cycle when we ovulate) and during TOM, not the week before... so about like what you are experiencing.
If you are OP I would have the WW leader look over your food journal and give suggestions. Or other members.
They say we are supposed to be able to eat the flex's and still lose. I would think the APs too. It's crazy how there's no rhyme or reason to this though, that's for sure!!
I know its so easy to give up when things are getting hard, and it seems as though things are getting hard for you and I'm sorry for that. I agree with the other gals, I think it def has to do with your TOM and you will start to see things go back to normal. Just keep doing what your doing and remember to drink your water.
Hugs to you honey, your inmy thoughts!!! You can do this!! Don't give up!
