Before After

The Day After Weigh In

It's the day after the impossible happened.  It can't actually be impossible because it did happen.

I gained 3 pounds.  Yep, 3 big ones.  GAINED.  Big ol' plus sign.  Accumulation.  Extra.  Rise.  Increase.  Enlarge.

I exercised 6 days for 40 minutes each day.  I stayed within my points and yes, I did use most of my flexies on Saturday but come on!

Emotions are much better today.  Yesterday I stared at the scale with disbelief and re-weighed myself to make sure I wasn't hallucinating.  At this point I can only hope it was my muscles holding in water because I recently began a rigorous workout routine within the last 2 weeks.  It's not PMS for sure.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By the way, if anyone is curious about my workout routine -

The Firm Cardio Weights (Body TransFIRMation System):

Mondays - Hi Def Sculpt:  This routine is my favorite.  It is a good mix of cardio and weights but a little more weights.  45 minutes.

Tuesday - Cardio Party:  This is my second favorite.  All cardio and no weights.  It felt silly at first but it really grew on me.  Lots of leg work and a little bit of dance.  40 minutes.

Wednesday - Hard Core Fusion:  3rd favorite.  There are some extra weights added so lots of good arm work.  Good balance of cardio and weights.  They claim this one burns 3 times the amount of fat that regular cardio burns but I'm not sure I can back that up completely.  55 minutes.

Thursday - Cardio Party.  Yay!

Friday - Cardio Overdrive:  Holy crap, somebody shoot me.  It starts off easy but when they go into "overdrive" I can barely handle it.  I'm still getting used to this one since I've done it less than the others.  45 minutes.

Saturday - Hard Core Fusion.

Sunday - Rest.

For anyone interested in these DVD's, do not order from TheFIRM's website!  Ever!  Trust me, I went through hell to get what I ordered.  You will too.

Deep breath

I'm sure it's just your muscles holding on to water.  Don't freak out.  You're doing everything you need to be doing.  You WILL see those results on the scale.  This is not a race, remember?

Yes, you do have the TransFIRMer series with the steps.  I remember because we ordered them about the same time.  Except I got mine on Amazon.com and it came A LOT faster.  There are 3 DVDs in it.  I really only do the Supercharged Sculpting because it's the shortest.  No, I'm not completely lazy, I just don't have more time in the mornings.  It kicks my ass!  I love it.  The tall box climb is killer!  You have to continuously climb up and down off the 14" step.  WHOOOO DOGGIE!  You should pull it out and try it.  Now you have me curious on the TransFIRMation series.

Hey!

Working out that hard will certainly cause some fluctuations on the scale.  Trust me - it won't last.  Two days ago I was up to 170 - this morning I'm back down to 165.8.  As long as you're eating right and exercising to your full potential, you don't have to worry about a higher number on the scale - it's only temporary.

Have a great day!

Angel

Yea

It definitely the muscles holding on to the water. Just drink more water and keep going. It will go down. I doubt anyone gain fat overnight with 3 lbs while eating and exercising the right way.

ouch

I'm glad you're feeling better about the snafu on the scale.  That's what it was -- a snafu.  I mean, really.  Sometimes (a lot of times) our bodies need time to register all the things that we do.  It's evil, really, because it means sometimes we can eat really badly and lose and other times the opposite.  Like TatumsMom said, it's not a race though!  Keep going strong.

Thank you very much for posting the workout... I've been wondering about the transfirmer series for a while.  Since I have a gym membership right now and have been pretty good about going, I'm going to hold off, but I am definitely considering it from a convenience point of view.  In the past, I have never been a big fan of exercise videos.  Hm... now that I have netflix, maybe I should give some a try!

Hang in there!

You are doing everything right!  It sounds like it is muscle being gained here, which is fantastic!!!  And muscle does need more water so you will notice in time your body getting firmer and clothes looser no matter what the scale says.. :-)

Ouch!

That is not a good thing to see! It probably is water retention, but.....

Did you use your APs? You earned a lot of them and should use them, and should be using them so you body doesn'y go into starvation mode and hold on to everything it gets!

You can do it!!

Hugs!!  I bet with the rest of them:  it's muscle retaining water or something.  You are doing fine and will be ready for the dress.

WOW

It always floors me to hear about you guys on that side of the state getting snow LOL!!  Shuts you down.

My hunny lives in CA and I get to see him every 2-3 months, so 6 times a year is average.  Not enough, but sometimes too much LOL!!  We are both set in our ways from being single so long LOL!!

Hope you are having a great weekend!!

You can do this

I know you can, this is just a bump along the road and all its doing is testing you to see how far you will go or will you sink. I know how your feeling because that happened to me a couple weeks ago you just have to be strong and I know you can because I have seen it in you. Keep on going and you have a team supporting you!

The Firm

Hey Leeanne! Glad you are enjoying the Firm. I didn't order the TransFIRMation system because I didn't really like the workouts that came out just before, and figured they were a shadow of things to come. The only ones I've got from the system you have are two add-ons: Total Body Time Crunch and Burn & Shape. I hate Burn & Shape. The cueing is absolutely abysmal. I still do my older Firm DVDs, though. I prefer those.

Mostly I've been doing Cathe and Jari Love for the last few months. Have you ever tried Cathe?

By the way, to anyone reading, heed Leeanne's advice. DO NOT order from the Firm website. You can get the Firm workouts all sorts of places, including Walmart and Target. Gaiam's customer service is legendary--for being crap!

Sucks I know!

I was up 1.6 pounds today from Friday and I worked out yesterday and ate awesome. Go figure.  It must be water retention.

Make sure you measure your body to check on progress there. I know once i started doing weights months ago, even though I was 190, I was in a 14.  When I was 185 I was REAL close to a 12 and blew it and gained 10 pounds of FAT!

You can do it!
