Mid-Week Check

Yes, this is now the middle of my week for food.  It's time to be a little more accountable.  I haven't been all that good this week.  For the last two weeks I will tell you that I have not stayed 100% on plan with eating.  I have delved into my flex points by almost 50 points rather than the allowed 35.  This week isn't any different but I'm hoping by writing this I will stay accountable and work harder to eat when I'm hungry instead of eating when I'm BORED.

I do have to say things have been so much better since I stopped using my home scale.  No more stress about weight!  Also, the official weigh-in at Weight Watchers is so much more exciting because it's the only time I ever see my weight.

This is the last full week of school! Then we have a half-day on Monday and it will be time for a break.  Many people who aren't teachers complain about us getting summer break, but what they don't understand is that we will have a mental breakdown if we don't.  In fact, several of my college friends who are special education teachers are not even sure they want to do this anymore.  One of them already had a real breakdown and had to resign early.   The interesting thing is that the general education teachers who I am friends with seem to be doing pretty well when it comes to their mental health. *sigh* Ok, enough about that.

Penny is doing really well.  She's at about 90% health.  Poor baby, I'm just glad she's alive and well.

Glad...

to hear about Penny.  I delved into my flexies too and went a little overboard.  EEEKKK.  If I stay Op these next two days I should be okay though.  Good luck with WI!

Still in school

Wow, I thought my kids were the last to finish school.  They finished last week and I thought most other states were out for the summer already.  I'm glad you will soon get a much needed break!  Enjoy your summer.

Jealous

Jealous that you get the summer "off" but you teachers earn it!  I can't even imagine all you have to go through some times.... hope you have a great WI this week too!!

hang in there

both for that last little bit until school lets out as well as on the staying on track with the eating.  just think of how much good you are doing the kids when you feel a mental anxiety attack sneaking up!  one of my good friends is a school counselor/social worker and i think she deals with some of the same issues.

yeah, you and me with the ice cream.  that's why i'm taking a short break from ice cream.  i've heard the breyer's 100-cal cups are pretty good from my counselor, but before i get my confidence back i'm going to stay away.

anyway, hang in there!  i read your blog for motivation too when i'm about to go for a binge=)  i'm happy to see your scales moving in the right direction and am planning to follow your lead at my next weigh in (a week from now).

Accountable

Even when you have slip ups, it's all about being accountable.  I'm glad you are still posting here.  It shows that you haven't given up.  You can do it!  And enjoy your summer!

Hats Off

I totally respect teachers who have to deal with so many children each and every day.  We have a school bus company and I can tell you that my hat is off to each and every driver who loves what they do.

Have a great day!

Angel

You can do it!!

I am so proud of you not only for making goal but for not giving up..  I think that is one of the big keys!  Have you ever tried Leslie Sansone's tapes?

Yes, teachers need summers off bad just like the kids.  What people don't realize is yes it is alot of stress but also teachers work is never done!  I know my dad used to stay up late grading papers or having to fix his room up which he hated..lol or doing his planning for the next week that he had to turn in, etc...

I so understand

our last day of school is thursday, I am having a mental breakdown. Summer break is needed, the only problem is the lack of structure!  If there is no structure, then I want to eat!  How have you done what you have done? How do you  maintain?

I had to do that to my cat...

My cat was so dehydrated (she had cancer and wouldn't eat or drink) that I had to give her an IV every day just like you described. I would do anything required of me to save my pets. Cancer took Ashely's life 4 years ago, but you do what you have to do to make them comfortable. I'm glad Penny is doing better!!!!!! You know how much I love any and all animals!!! Give her a hug from me!

What is a facial like???? You mean you've never had one??? Wow. Well, I guess I was probably about 30 when I had my first one...I had youth on my side! Anyway, imagine yourself laying on a comfy bed in a dim lit room, candles lit, soothing music playing, and a very nurturing person soothing your stress away! I have this great girl, Sara Jane, who just makes me melt. She smoothes my hair back into a soft headband, puts a warm cloth over my face to soften and cleanse it. Then she applies a cleanser with a brush, wraps my face in another warm cloth to remove it, then applies a nice hydrating mask, removes it, massages my face with her fingers, applies a moisturizer, then massages my neck and shoulders, then my feet, then my hands and arms....by now I'm practically asleep...then I have to "wake" up out of my "coma" and I feel relaxed and rejuvenated!!!! You HAVE to treat yourself to one soon...especially after the past stressful couple of weeks you'e had at work!
