Thank You

Thank you to all who have responded to the last post.  It has helped a lot!  I am working on battling my demons at the moment and journaling.  I started up a new account at FitDay.com and am even considering using it as a replacement (yes, a replacement) for Weight Watchers.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with WW and it is what has helped me lose 75 pounds, but soon I will no longer be attending meetings with my mom because of my job changes and moving.  I have been very successful using FitDay in the past which is why I am confident that it will keep me on track.  That said, I am journaling there and recording everything I eat and all the exercises I do.  It tells me if I'm getting the recommended daily amounts of everything, too.  I like knowing whether or not I am taking in too much sodium, saturated fat, etc.  I found out yesterday that my 22 points worth of food was worth only 1095 calories.  That was a bit of a  surprise.  I thought it would have been at least 1200.

I went to eagerly exercise for 45 minutes today and had to stop.  I felt a stinging pain in my left ankle about 15 minutes into the exercise.  I don't normally stretch so I'm hoping that it's just something minor and that stretching will solve the problem.  It hurts to walk on it now but it doesn't hurt at all if I squeeze any part of my foot with my hand.  Maybe it's a tiny sprain?  Anyone ever have this problem?  Also, does anyone have suggestions for stretching exercises in regards to the ankles so I can prevent this from happening again?  It's the first time I've experienced this and I'm disappointed that I don't get to exercise!

FitDay

I've never heard of it, but will surely check it out.

As for your pain, I wish I could help.  This morning I almost didn't do my interval workout on the treadmill because of a pain in my thigh.  Once I started running it went away.

Maybe if you rest and take some Advil it will pass.  Take care of yourself!

Sorry

I'm so sorry about your last few days.  I don't have any real advice about the binging but I do think you should get some kind of help for it.  It is a horrible thing to go through and I believe is truly a health problem.

Your ankle sounds like a sprain.  I would stay off of it for a few days.  If the pain is still there then I would go to the dr.  Uggghh.  I hope things get better.  Plus you had almost a whole week of being op!  That is good.

glad to hear it helped

i'm not sure about the ankle pain - that hasn't happened to me before.  i think if it was a sharp pain it's a good thing you stopped even if you hadn't gotten to fully workout yet.  the gym will be there tomorrow, as long as your ankle is ready!  things don't always go as planned (as I learned today), but as long as we make the best of it, we can do this!

ps - it's funny you mentioned that about the ww points.  i had considered switching from jc to ww at one point because i thought i could get more cals on ww b/c certain entrees had more cals than jcs but the same number of points.  i guess it all depends on what you choose to eat in the end!

SORRY!!

I AM  SO SORRY THAT I WASN'T HERE!  =-(  I LOVE YOU GIRLIE AND YOU HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THERE FOR ME.  ARE YOU OK???  U ARE HUMAN, RIGHT???  IT WILL OK!  TALK TO ME!!

LOVE, jEN

how are you?

Looks like you are doing awesome! with awesome changes with your life. you are so awesome for being so determined! I checked out fitday. I am going to try it, between this and ww...lol I will be busy I wont have time to eat! I wish that was the case!

Keep up the great work!

Mel

Stay Positive

I don't know about the binge eating or the other issue with your ankle because it wouldn't be wise to suggest anything about and injury from a blog.  I have had sharp pains in my ankles from playing basketball and it feels like someone is hammering my achilles tendon with a bat.  I just stretch out a little longer and deal with it.  I hope you are doing well because it sounds like you are struggling with your maintenance after WW.  I hope you find a solid foundation to help you feel comfortable with maintaining your weight goals.  I just need to stay focused so I can hit my goal and be able to worry about maintaining.

Change is good!

I think it's good to change eating plans occasionally. If you continue doing the same thing all the time you eventually get bored and end up cutting corners. Plus you're hardly trying to lose weight anymore are you, so it's good to experiment now that you can! I was quite impressed with my weight loss this week of 4lbs, I hope I can keep it up although yesterday I was incredibly cheeky and ate a few chocolates, not the end of the world but it certainly won't help! I do need to become more strict, I need to revise what I'm doing I think, get my head straight again as to what I'm trying to achieve. Anyway, I hope your injury/strain is better now. Stretching is probably a good idea, plus it primes the muscle for toning up, if that's what you're aiming for. Have a nice weekend, check out my blog if you have a spare few moments! x x x x

Stretching

Definitely take the anti-inflammatories, ice it, give it a few days rest, then make sure you start stretching (this from the wife of an OT)

Hope it heals quick!

You go girl!
