Keeping It Going

So far so good with the workout routine.  So far I've racked up 12 AP's in 3 days, plus 2 days of arm exercises.  It feels so good!

I'm going out with my sister and my dad tomorrow for Mexican food, one of my many downfalls.  I'm planning on chewing gum before the entree arrives so that I won't eat the chips.  It sure worked well today during our staff meeting when they served chips and salsa!  Then for the entree I will order just a small plate of rice and beans since that is my favorite part of going out to Mexican food.  Hopefully that plan will prevent me from going too far.

We also have a dinner to go to with my parents and Mike's parents on Saturday.  I have no idea what Mike's parents have planned for dinner so I'm trying to keep my flex points "flexible" just in case.

Today it took me 1 1/2 hours to get to work because of really bad traffic.  You know how one bad thing can make your whole day suck?  Yeah.  Miss Leanne was damn pissy by the time she stepped into her classroom.

I felt better at the end of the day because I got some great compliments at work, though.  First I was recognized at our staff meeting as one of the top five WASL proctors at our school this year.  There are like 50 teachers, so that was nice.  Then I directed a parent meeting after that and one of our most intimidating, hard-ass teachers took his time to personally compliment me on how direct I was and how well I kept the meeting flowing.  Often these types of meetings go on for an hour because people always want to "chit chat" about the same things forever and ever without actually getting anywhere.

I hope everyone is having a great week so far!

awesome

Glad to hear you had a nice day finally even if you had to suffer through some bad travel times in order to get there.  It sounds like you have a plan all in place too for the eating out, which is key.  Good luck with that and I *knew* you'd get back to that exercise.  =)  Take care.

Traffic

I would have been pissy as well, that is one thing im very impatient about, I just cant take traffic! When I was in California I was stuck in LA traffic for two hours! People were reading and eating, psh I might as well have gotten out of my car and roamed around!

Im glad that you are feeling good and that you are getting that exercise in! Doesn't it feel good afterwards! It makes you wonder what took you so long to get back to it!

Chewing gum! Thats a new thing I have heard! Sounds intresting and I don't see what it wouldn't work! It makes you think  you are chewing food so maybe your stomach will not start growling! Intresting tip! Oh you are not the only one that has a downfall with mexican food. Man I go down in a minute, thats how bad I love it!!! Let us know how it went!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Old habits die hard

Its good to see you get back in the groove with your exercise habit.  It looks like it is a habit in your life and even though you took a break you are picking it back up.  Stay positive and stay focused and great things will happen.  My bike ride to my WI on Saturdays is 2.1 miles each way.  I took it easy last week because I didn't want to sit next to anyone while I was oozing sweat.  Keep up your old habit of exercise and your healthier life will continue.  I have made the exercise part of my lifestyle now and when I don't get my ride in to work I am difficult to deal with.   Its also good to see that you are being recognized at work for your efforts I know that feels great and is helpful to keep you motivated and energized.

Traffic sucks!

I feel your pain about bad traffic.  In Boise, they are tearing up every major road around my house.  Really.  I live in a neighborhood that has the only access on two major roads that are torn up for constructions.  At 5 o clock...good luck getting home and sitting through less than three light cycles.  It's like that when I drive out to my mom's house, which is in a small town about fifteen minutes away.  The road I usually take out there is torn up (one of the roads near my house), and the road that takes you to my mom's house from the freeway is torn up, and the road you take to go around the torn up road from the freeway is torn up...on and on...

It has been raining here, and I went to the store tonight, only to be almost sideswiped by an Ada County Fire Chief in a huge Surburban!  I swear, I had to slam on my brakes and jerk my wheel to avoid hitting him.  I skidded because of the wet road, but I was able to stop.  He was lucky I didn't hit the barrier and go over the edge of the cliff right there!  For some reason, he didn't seem to think that it was important to maintain his lane when he was turning.  EVEN WORSE, I am not sure that he even realized that he could have killed poor little me, in my little Accord.  I am sure in a Suburban vs. Accord wreck, the Subrurban would win.    I called Dave to tell him how shaky and scared I was when I got to the store.

Traffic

I hate traffic too! but I don't get them very often here in Florida like in New Jersey. NJ has the worse traffic and it keeps getting worse every year.

That's great you're back in your workout. I need to get back into mine and now that the weather is hot here, I'm eager to do some workout outside.

I'm glad your day got better with some nice compliments. Sometimes those are the simplest things that make our day! :)

Yummy

YUMMY! Mexican food sounds yummy right now. Heck, anything sounds yummy! LOL! Compliments always make me smile and makes the day go by that much better. HUGS to you!

Gum

Hey - good idea - I will definitely have to try that one on my next MEXI visit! :o)

Congrats on the compliments.  It's always awesome to get recognized! :o)

Mexican food....

I had a run in with Mexican food yesterday at lunch.  I planned for it, but I still over ate.

I'm so glad you're back on track!  You rock!  Traffic sucks!

Mexican

I read the whole post (honestly) but I'm still stuck at the Mexican food thing.  My mouth is watering just thinking about it!  Can you gain weight from just thinking about it?  Can you?  Really?  Tortilla chips, salsa, chicken fajitas, margaritas?  MMMMMMM....

Have a great day!

Angel

Thanks

Hiya, thank you for responding to my query! I am not following a diet plan, just taking one day at a time and working towards my goal and living the lifestyle of a healthy person. My number one rule is living healthy, which means totally home made food and fresh fruit and veg and low fat alternatives to snacks. It's going very well but like I said, occasionally I do feel a tad guilty when I do cross the line slightly. anyway, congrats on your "compliments" today, you have obviously earned it so well done! I hope your week is going well on top of that! x x x x

Exercise

Doesn't if feel good to get back into some kind of routine?!  That is great.  I also love mexican food.....and chips and salsa.  I now regulate myself to 10 chips if we happen to go out and then a very small entree.  Great job Leanne!
