Hey!!! Sorry it's been so long but the trip was awesome. You're going to want to read this.
Last week on Monday was "travel day 1" because we took two flights. The first was from SeaTac to Salt Lake City, UT. Then from SLC to LAX. We had a few hours layover in Utah so we went for dinner at Dick Clark's Grill at the airport. They wouldn't seat us in a booth for some strange reason so they sat us near the booths at the back of the restaurant. Five minutes later they sat a man in one of the booths only a few feet away from us. No fair, right? Turns out it was David Boreanaz. OMG I used to watch "Buffy" and "Angel" all the time!!! I don't watch his show "Bones" but so what!
I had to do a double-take about 10 times before I confirmed there was no mistake it was him. Plus he was talking to several people on his cell phone and looking over some papers. He was dressed very inconspicuously and wearing a cap. Mike kept telling me I should go ask for his autograph but I am so shy and I've never seen a celebrity before! We also saw him waiting at our flight gate and we're pretty sure he was on our flight to LAX. A celebrity flying to LA would make sense, right? I later read that he bought a house in Utah.
We had to wait a whole hour for the Disneyland bus to pick us up at LAX. A family of 12 came to wait with us and they jacked a van going to Anaheim which was mean. They said they had kids so they got priority. Bite me, jerkfaces. We had been traveling all freaking day and it's 10pm. Eventually we made it to the Marriott Anaheim and everything was great! The bed was comfy, too.
On to day 1 of Disneyland! We walked everywhere. The park was a 20 minute walk from the hotel and that was great for our legs. I got 40,000 steps in by the end of the day. It wasn't good on our feet, though. Mike started calling me Tiny Tim because I was limping but still in a great mood like, "I'm great! I can do this! Let's go on some rides!" But my left foot was falling apart.
That first half of the day we went on the Matterhorn, walked, shopped, walked, went on the Jungle Cruise, walked, went on Star Tours, and walked some more. The lines were horrendous everywhere because it was spring break. We had to Fast Pass Indiana Jones for that evening. In the middle of the day we walked back to the hotel.
We changed clothes and I was primping in front of the closet mirrors when Mike looked at me in this sad expression and said, "This is supposed to be the happiest place on earth but I'm not a happy man." So naturally I was worried that he wasn't enjoying himself. I asked if it was me (because I had been a little moody earlier in the day). He didn't say anything so I thought it was me! I said, "You're not having a good time? I'm having a good time, I thought we were having a good time."
Then he pulls out a teak wooden box, gets down on one knee and asks me to make him the happiest man on earth!!!
I was in shock. The world really did come to a stop. Of course when he asked me to marry him I said yes. Then I hugged him and started bawling my eyes out. I don't think I've ever been that emotional in such a way. It was the happiest moment in my life.
That's all for now. I will tell the rest next time.
It's Easter evening and I saved the secret from Tuesday all the way until today so I could surprise my parents. My mom is going crazy-excited with wedding plan dreams running around in her head. My sister can't stop talking about it. I'm the first in the family so this is all new for everyone. Yay!

How awesome! Congrats! That's got to be one of the best feelings ever! Getting engaged on vacation is a great way to have it happen! Then you don't have to deal with the family and friends until you're used to it yourself! Congratulations to the happy couple!
Are you going to tell your students, or are you going to let them talk about that rock on their own?

What a surprise to hear you got engaged! He sure seems to surprise you as well. I look forward to hearing all the wedding plans and seeing the dress etc.
I used to watch Buffy and Angel too. That's soo cool you saw David Boreanaz. I remember I saw Ben Stiller at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. He was walking to a fancy restuarant and he had bodyguards with him because people were just crowding around him. It's kinda weird to see them in real life when you're used to seeing them on Tv only.
Sorry you had to meet some mean people during your trip to disneyland. it's stressful to travel. I know I've met many of those kind of people.
Well I look forward to hearing more about the vacation. I'm sure you had a blast.
