Wow it's Thursday. That means tomorrow is Friday!!! We are going to see Zach Galifianakis on Saturday night in Seattle and I am very excited to get out and have some fun!
On the food front, I've had a little too much fun already. I ate a full meal at Wendy's on Monday and then last night the school's parent committee outdid themselves on serving us dinner at parent conferences. Think pizza, BBQ chicken, lots of sweets and a giant chocolate layer cake. They even served us and all of the parents coffee and cookies during the conferences. Talk about spoiled!
Tomorrow I'm celebrating my best friend Kat's birthday so there will be yummy food at her aunt's house. Then on Saturday we are all going out to dinner and the bar before the comedy show. Where? No idea.
Sometimes you just have to make your peace with the fact that you may be eating more than you should and move on. In my case it means being really good on the days without special plans, exercising more, drinking tons of water and knowing that next week will be better. Sure I could choose not to eat all these things but in the end it just hasn't worked out that way.

life is about choices
eating happens to be one of those choices - and with that the decision of what we're going to put in our mouths. i agree with you that there is a time and place for splurges (ie., birthdays, vacations, sure even parent-teacher conferences!) and as long as we're conscious of the decisions we make - and make small compensations on other days, this is normal. in fact, this is what is called weight management. it is a skill that some people seem to have naturally (lucky dogs!) and the rest of us need to learn and are learning. i have confidence that you'll be great =)
I definately think there are times to go with the flow. I have been on plan all week and last night enjoyed some popcorn and kitkat bites with DH. It was a great date night!

I could not agree with you more on this... I think it's one of the great bonuses of maintenance too, that you can splurge and not have to feel like you did anything wrong.
Sometimes, you just have to move on and think, tomorrow is a brand new day. You are probably ok, You have a little extra cushion. Afterall, you don't want to be kicked out of Weight Watchers, do you?
it's always like that for me too..nothing going on for weeks and then...slam! birthdays, parties, outings etc...all the same week...enjoy...back on track next week!
I think that is what a lifestyle change is all about.. You will have those days you go over for different reasons, some planned, like me every Saturday.. :-) But the difference is getting right back on track the other days. You are doing awesome!!! Enjoy your night out!!
I am just going to have meat and cheese or a salad... You just need to get it in your head and choose before you get there. i am truly pissed at food. I am... I can not believe that it has taken me 36 years to figure out THIS IS WAR.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Food does not deserve to win.. WHEREAS I DO!!! You have fun tonight too! I wonder what I will look like small??? hmmmmm =-) Later Love, Jen
For the compliment on my daughters hair! Isn't it beautiful? Its pretty red, actually. But it does lighten up to Strawberry Blonde in the summer, and she hates that. A redhead who actually appreciates and loves her hair!
I hope you were able to avoid all of that delish food that you were surrouned by the past few days!
You really do have a point about how sometimes we dont eat on plan but that just means that on the other days we do. It makes alot of sense and it really made me happier and more comfortable being on vacation! Thank you! i hope you are having lots of fun with all the plans you have! I hope you were able to indulge in the food but not over induldge! Have an awesome weekend!!!
you'll be fine. You are aware of everything that is going in your mouth and you know how to control it. Don't fret over too much. Like you said go with the flow. Relax.
over indulging from time to time is not a bad thing if you have it under control, and you certainly do! you know that you will have too much this weekend but you will get straight back on plan monday so you wont cause any damage. most people(like myself) would give up or have a pig out week but i know you are better than that. have a great weekend, and enjoy!
