1.Get plenty of rest during your water fast. You may experience a drop in
stamina and energy during this time. Don't overexert yourself. Maintain
healthy sleep patterns.
2. Drink at least 7 to 10 glasses, each 8 oz., of distilled or purified
water every day. Avoid tap water. It can reintroduce toxins and
chemicals into your body and defeat the purpose of the fast.
3. Alternate a juice fast with a water fast if you're contemplating a
longer fasting period. That way, your body can receive important
vitamins and nutrients on a periodic basis.
4. Don't break your fast by eating a large meal. Eat a small one first.
Wait for several hours to see if your body reacts negatively to it.
Then resume your normal eating habits.
So this is what I'll be doing during the next week. Hope to hear from all of you!
Yes, I'm thinking of going on a water fast for a week. I would like to start it tomorrow, granted i find the information I want. Like, how much water should I consume? How often? Has anyone out there gone on a water fast? what did you do?
Went from 147 lbs. to 149 lbs. It's not the eating, I've been keeping that under wraps.. I guess I just have to do some form of exercise other than the walking I've been doing. I thought it would be lower. My watch and ring are loose. Why do I always lose weight in my wrists and hands first? They're already small. Try my belly. I'd like to lose some weight there.
This girl is doing everything I *should* be doing! Her nickname on here is Hyperoracle, and I just love to read her blog. So I asked if I could add a link here to her blog. She said yes, so I will
I'm a scale-a-holic! I know that's not a real word, but really... I weigh myself several times a day. I do have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, so that may come into play. It's under control though mostly. I just have to know what I weigh. I only post what I weigh once a day though. It's too much of a stretch for me to go a week without weighing myself. I would just die...
Week 1 + 2 LOSSES!!! Please comment! My math is horrible and I have a question!
Hello everyone!
I see that everyone posts their losses or gains for the week and I have not been doing so. Now seems like a good time to start. Let's see... I wrote everything down on the calendar, so I got it right... but the dates that I weighed in are not exact so I'll just do round about dates.
Initial weight 09/16/08: 150.0
Week 1 09/24/08: 150.5 Total loss/gain for the week: +.5 lbs
Week 2 10/01/08: 147.0 Total loss/gain for the week: -3.5 lbs
Overall loss/gain: hmmm...this gets me thinking. I'm new to extrapounds. I was just looking at my weight losses and gains and I think they only count how much you've lost from your initial weight. Is this true? I had a little "blip" where I went up to, I think, 151.5 lbs, so technically, I've lost 4.5 lbs in 2 weeks total. Is that correct? My math is horrible....
I was sick so I didn't tend to eat much.. had a disappointing trip to the dietitian's office. I mean, we talked about a lot of stuff and I am doing well ,but when she weighed me, I don't think she accounted for my clothes. I made the mistake of wearing jeans, which I normally don't do. So with all of my clothes on, I weighed 151 lbs at 10 am. At about 3 pm after being sick to my stomach, with no clothes on, I weighed 147 lbs. I'm taking the lower weight because it's the one with no clothes on. Don't you think that makes sense? Which do you prefer?
The scale went down a pound! I'm now at 148.5 lbs! Even after a day of "bad eating". I did have a lot of water, which is a start though! Gotta get back to what I was doing on the exercise. I still wonder about the Phentermine though.
I see my dietitian tomorrow. Oh boy, I see EVERYONE tomorrow, it seems. And then I get to go to work for 6 hours. But I'm hoping to impress my dietitian with my weight loss, though I have been lower... Oh well.
I got this excellent pic in my email from someone's blog (she writes a blog that has to do with body image and whatnot). It just so happens that I collect images off the internet that are like 1950's redhead pin-up's and anything retro with a redhead in it really (I'm a redhead and love it!). I know, the woman in the pic has kinda brownish-red hair, but I just loved it so much that I saved it anyway! I hope you like it too!
I went back down to 149.5 again. Why does it seem like that's the lowest I'll ever get?
I've done without diet pills today (mostly... I just took an Alli), but would like to knoow if I'm a good candidate for Phentermine, considering my height and weight (5'4" and 149.5 lbs). Does anyone know?
