Not Much Going On
I really don't have much to say today. I was home all day yesterday cleaning the bathroom which really needed to be clean. I went food shopping and ordered some new glasses that I will get today when my husband finish work.
I was reading Self magazine on the plane and I found something interesting that may help me burn more fat. Scientists from University of Tokyo suggests to weight lift first before doing cardio. The weight lifting will help you burn 10 percent more fat than those who simply do cardio. Lifting also taps those hormones that guide fat into the furnace. The reverse--doing carido, then weights-- doesn't. I was doing the reverse. So it's time for me to change my workout a bit the next time I go to the Y. Pretty cool stuff to know.

I'm back!
For 3 days! Then I'm off to a real vacation on Saturday to Sarasota. I'm doing laundry and deep cleaning today as part of my workout. I don't know why but I always feel my place is dusty and dirty after no one has been here in a few days. It's like some invisible human being messing up my home in the tiniest ways. When I get home, I'm like hmm how did that get there? I usually like the place cleaned up before I head out on a trip.
My eating wasn't so great. I felt hungry all day and felt like nothing satisfied me and I just kept making bad choices. I figure out why last night when lovely TOM came along. It seems to me that my period has been starting earlier and earlier each month. I wonder if that's from exercising and losing weight. So I have to carry lovely TOM with me during Sarasota.
Corpus Christi, Texas is an okay place for me. It seems a lot of places are old and run down. It's really humid there as well and there doesn't seem much to do. We went to the Aquarium Sunday morning and then to the beach in the afternoon. I had an interesting experience at the beach. There were seagulls everywhere on the beach, but this one particular seagull kept flying right behind me. I kept turning around and telling the seagull to go away. I wonder if the turtle prints on the coverall made it think it was baby turtles? Just before we decided to leave, that seagull is still flying behind me. I ignored it and talked to my husband. The next thing I know, I felt a warm, gooey, splat on my arm. The freaking seagull pooped on my arm!! It was soo gross! Of course I took a shower when we got back to the hotel room.
But I'm not done yet. After that seagull poop experience, I had to take off my glasses to clean off a few of those poop splat. Just tiny speckles on them. I tried to wash them off in the ocean but it wasn't cleaning very well. So I put the glasses over the shirt and decided to clean them later at the hotel room.
My daughter had sands all over her face, hands, legs, and feet. I bend down to clean her off in the ocean and then it was time to go. As I was walking up to the car, something felt different. I touch my shirt to get my glasses and felt nothing. The glasses were gone! They fell out of my shirt when I was cleaning my daughter in the water and now I've been blind since Sunday. Maybe my glasses will float from Texas and end up on Sarasota beach this weekend. I bet the fish will eat it first before it gets there.
We left Corpus Christi on Monday and drove back to San Antonio and stay there overnight. We got to explore the Riverwalk and Alamo. Everything look pretty to me without my glasses and if there was anything ugly, I didn't see it. We came back to Orlando last night and I was pretty wiped out.
Even though I am looking forward to my vacation in Sarasota, I am also looking forward to the month of June where I don't have any trips until July and I'm hoping June will the month that I can focus on getting into the 130's and staying there.
I hope you all had a great Wednesday and I'll be checking on you thruout the day.

Ready to go home.
I'm typing this blog from my pager and it will be brief. I'm so ready to go home and back to my normal routine. This trip is not a vacation. We're out here to visit my stepson and we love spending time with him, just not the ex wife. The ex wife can make us nervous and stressful when we're around her cuz she can be not so nice to us.
Eating is not good. I can feel it in my face where it's itchy and oily. That happens when I eat bad and don't exercise. I haven't slept well and the hotel is not that great. I'm looking forward to going home tomorrow night and sleep in my own bed again and eat my healthy foods.
Hope you all had a great weekend and have a Happy Monday.

Busy Thursday!
I decided not to work out yesterday because I realized I have been sore all week and I haven't recovered my muscles enough to give it a break. So Gilad wasn't invited in my home but the laundry and the kitchen sure kept me busy. Also the scale hasn't moved for the past couple of days, so I know it has been holding on to water from all the workouts. Today I finally lost .5 lbs. Getting closer to my original weight before I left for vacation in April. It has been a month since I was last 139 lbs. I really want to get back into the 130s.
I had to make Dirt Cake for a friend that was supposed to be for her birthday last month but I was away in PA during that time. So I decided to go ahead and make it for her. My hubby brought it to her home last night and she and her roommates were thrilled to have the Dirt Cake. I'm sure they didn't get much sleep last night with all that sugar. LOL! But I realized this morning that I had no desire to eat the Dirt Cake. That is usually my favorite dessert in the whole wide world. I would eat that thing all day if I could, but yesterday I had no interest in eating it except for making it for my friend. I guess when you know how much you're eating and how hard you're working out to lose weight, you just don't want to ruin it.
My water intake has been great and I'm going to the Y to continue my huffing and puffing 15 minutes run.
I hope everyone have a great weekend and it's Friday! I love Fridays!

Google Reader and Fitday
I decided to try out the Google Reader and I love it. So I've been updating and making changes to my needs since yesterday.
I also have been using Fitday to count calories. I wanted to see how much calories I was consuming on a regular day when I ate healthy food. I do keep it in normal range from 1400 to 1600 which Fitday recommends me to use as for my weight loss. I also like the pie chart that shows me how much carbs, protein, and fat I'm taking in. I noticed that I'm taking in too much carbs and not enough protein. I don't have a problem with fat. I'm not sure how much protein I should have a day and I'm searching for that. If any of you know how much protein we should be taking for our weight loss, I'll be happy if you let me know.
I did my running on the treadmill yesterday and I made a goal that I would do 15 minutes of running. I did 15 minutes, but not 15 minutes straight. I wish I could do that but I can't just yet. I was able to run 6 minutes straight before I had to stop and catch my breath. That was the longest I can do. Once I regain my energy, I was able to continue for another 5 minutes, walk and then run 3 minutes, walk, then down to the last 2 minutes run to equal 15 minutes of running. At least I made my goal. I will continue to do this until I do 15 minutes straight.
It was really hot here yesterday. The temperature was 84 degrees but the real temp feeling according to weather.com is 96 degrees! My friends and I were at the playground with the kids and we were sweating buckets. We decided to go to the pool next time. My poor daughter burned her legs on the slide from the hot sun. But the kids still had a good time on the swings.
I will be going out of town this weekend to Texas to visit my stepson. We're leaving Saturday morning and be back on Tuesday night. I know we are bringing our laptop with us, so I may just be able to blog and check on all of you but just not as much. I'm so looking forward to Memorial Day weekend where we get to go to Sarasota, Florida. I love the beaches there and the ocean is beautiful there.
Have A Happy Thursday!

Water, water, water!
I seem to be forgetting to drink my water since I've been working out more. I don't know why. I'm always good with my water intake everyday but lately I haven't been paying attention and I keep getting water retention in my body. I'm trying to make an effort to drink more water and calculate how much I've drank for the day.
I know how important it is to drink your water to keep yourself hydrated, but it also speed up your metabolism especially with cold water. Sometimes it makes me feel cold like it's in the 40s outside instead of 80's. So I will be drinking my water all day.
I'm also trying to have at least 4 grams of fiber in each of my meals and snacks because I've read how it can keep you full longer. It's not easy but I will figure it out somehow.
I went to the Y yesterday and tried the stairmaster with a friend for 20 minutes. It wasn't easy and it sure got me sweating real good. Elliptical machine for 20 minutes and some weightlifting. I'm getting bored with the elliptical machine for now, so I'm gonna go back to running on the treadmill tomorrow.
Hope you all have a great skinny Tuesday!

Tired
I realized last Friday that it was the first time I've workout for 5 days straight. I haven't done that since I graduated in college in 2003. I was pretty exhausted this weekend and allowed myself to recover. But I'm going back to the Y today and continue my workout.
I hope you all had a nice Mother's Day yesterday. I was really tired yesterday and all I wanted was a NAP. My husband was nice to let me nap for 2 hours in the afternoon. We went to church in the morning and then out to brunch and dinner. I didn't eat so great yesterday and I just felt like craving bad food. I haven't had this in a while and I think it's from being tired and working out a lot. My body is going through changes now that I'm weightlifting again.
Even though I had bad food yesterday, I'm okay with my weight since I drank a lot of water at night to help remove excess sodium in my body. I forgot to drink more water now that I'm working out more. I'll be back later this evening and check up on all of you.
Have a great Monday!

Weightlifting
I got to workout with a buddy yesterday at the Y and it was fun! The time on the elliptical machine went by so fast in 30 minutes while we chatted and exercise. When you exercise alone, sometimes it can seem like the time is really slow. We decided to do some weightlifting afterwards and I was shocked to find out that I wasn't able to pull or push 50 lbs weights like I used to do in college. I didn't realized how much muscle I've lost in my arms.
When I was in high school, I used to do weightlifting everyday in gym class. I would do legs 3 days and arms 2 days like every other day from Mon to Fri. When I got to college, I remember people asking if I was into sports, I was like no, just exercise on my own. At that time, I didn't realized how much of a good shape I was in. I continued to weightlift while I was in college but my eating was terrible, far worse than it was at home. Of course I gained the 15 lbs the first year and continued to do so. Even though I didn't gained quickly during college, once I graduated, I went downhill. There was no more free gym to go to.
After I had my baby, I tried working out on my own at home but I just couldn't get motivated doing it on my own. I like the atomsphere of the gym where everyone is working out and I feel like working out when I'm there. So I joined the Y and now getting back on track. I didn't weightlift for a while because I just didn't feel like it but now that I am trying to improve my running, I realized how important I need to go back to my weightlifting. It just never occurred to me how much muscle I lost and I could only lift 30 lbs which is the same weight my daughter weighs now. Now my arms are really sore and I'm ready to go back to the Y tomorrow and do more arm weightlifting.
Hope everyone have a happy Thursday and getting closer to their goal.
