Turn off the TV and Read.

Read lots of books, all sorts of books -- poetry and fiction, books
about Africa, the Middle East, American history, individuals who have
done great things and terrible things, the environment, women around the
world. Then find people with whom to discuss the new and startling ideas
that begin to percolate in your brain. Who knows what will happen next?
You might find yourself at a demonstration or running for the school
board. You might start to like someone who always seemed weird before.
You might save a street or a salt marsh or a person.

All because of a book.

It's amazing how reading a book can change your life and your outlook on life. I have read so many different fitness and health books like You: The Manual with Dr. OZ, The Best Life, The Abs Diet, etc. I don't strictly follow one book but I feel I understand more about my health as I kept reading different health books. I don't believe we should only follow one book and ignore the others. We have the freedom to chose and think for ourselves on how we want to take care of our health. I follow my feelings if something doesn't sounds right or unrealistic, then I don't do it.

I read a vary of topics on books and I love reading historical fictions. There's something about escaping to the past and learning about our ancestors' lives. I start to appericate family history and where we come from.

My daughter has been sick with an ear infection in her right ear this weekend. I took her to the doctor on Friday morning and an ear infection and fluids were discovered in her right ear. This is her only 2nd ear infection and that's a good thing. I heard a lot of kids suffer from ear infections and I really feel for them because they can be painful.

No workout last weekend and today. My throat is a bit scratchy and it's cold in Florida! It went down to the 30's but we will warm up to the 70's during the day. The weather has been really weird lately. Saturday night, it was lightning and thundering like crazy with tornado warnings, then we got the wind chills advisory the next night. Really weird. I'm finding it weird with all the snow coming so early too up north.

This week will be a quiet week for me. I will just be cleaning up the apartment and doing laundry. We will fly up north on Saturday for Christmas vacation and then be back on Decemeber 30th in time for New Years Eve. Packing at Christime time is always hard for me because I have to think about the cold weather up north and not bring my flip flops and sandals. It's like going to a whole new world when we go north lol.

Well I better go and check on you guys. My google reader is just growing bigger by the seconds. Also here are a few health and fitness articles that are interesting to read.

Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same.

I LOVE

the quote today.  LOVE it!  I'm going to post it here at work.  I might need it today, too.  :-)

Have fun on your Christmas Vacation!

Interesting!

I don't do a lot of reading but I guess reading is better for the mind and soul than the tv.  I hope you have a great day!

precious

why title?

Lately I haven't been reading any books, just haven't found any interesting enough to read. I've been having bad luck with books because I buy em and I don't read it all the way through because it bores me. I used to read fitness and health magazines and books on weight loss but it's pretty boring and i don't care. I don't think that most of the books on weight loss out there having anything to say except the basics. ya know, eat less exercise more. it's that simple. I don't feel like reading it.

anyhoo you have a good one. and keep up the great job!

Books

My favorites are the Janet Evanovich ...number books and the Sue Grafton abc series.....and I usually read a Sandra Brown or 2 in between those 2 coming out each year....I have the New Grafton ..."T" is for ????  but I'm waiting until Christmas break..to crack in open...once I start a book...I do nothing but read....am I sick or what?

Reading

I absolutely love to read!  LIke you said, if I read something that just doesn't sound natural, I move on to the next thing!

I love today's quote!

love reading!

As a kid i read every chance I got! I would read my novels inside my text books i was supposed to be reading in class. I haven't had a good book in a while but I've finally found one and i can't put it down! Reading is awesome :)

Have fun on your trip up north, I love it there!

I feel the same

way. I love to read. I have learned so many wonderful things through reading and I have learned loads about myself too. Sending get well wishes to you and your daughter!

Oh No!

You have a sick baby too???  Ear infections are so awful and they can't tell you how it hurts either!   UUghghhh, I'm exhausted, are you???

Reading is truly a blessing.  My mom and I have our own library.  I've started Ciara her own library with my childhood books.  When I was in the 1st grade I got to go to the kindergarten class and read them a book.  It made me feel pretty special.  :-)

A walk a day...

Keeps the colds away.  Sounds cool.  I hope you feel bettter and are able to workout soon.  Thanks for commenting on my blog.  I am really looking forward to getting to my goal!

Books

you're right about books...they changed my life too! I can tell you this right now, I dont watch more than 3 hours of tv a month..sometimes it's even less than an hour..and i dont even miss it!

Take care and get rid of that cold ;)

Love those books!

Indeed, I love those books, especially the Dr. Oz ones.  I loved the pics you posted on Facebook, by the way.  Your daughter is adorable!  I certainly hope she's feeling better.  My girls have had their share of ear infections.

Have a great day!

Beautiful Quote

I love that quote and it is so true.  We make that choice everyday....and to me it actually takes less energy to be happy!!!  I love being happy.

I hope your little one gets to feeling better soon.

I hope your trip up north is safe and lots of family fun.

I love reading also.  I can sit for hours and read.  I really enjoy Christian books and I buy those from Crossings, Sam's, WalMart......any book store I can walk into.......I feel elated when I walk in a book store.

Keep reading and read to your little one.  When you read you can visit the whole world without ever leaving your home.

Blessings to you for safety, happiness, peace and wealth.  Chargail
