I really looking forward to this show. I've been thinking about it a lot since I watched it on my DVR last Thursday. I could not believe that 62 years old man. He really amazed me. 31 lbs lost in 1 week?? I would be at my dream goal by next week if I could lose that much. How I wish it was that easy for me LOL!
I watched carefully on what exercises they did on this show and I remember Bob telling them to raise the incline to 5 when they started walking on the treadmill. Then they had to raise it to 10! I thought to myself, I'm gonna try that when I go to the Y on Friday. So I hopped on the treadmill and raise it to 5. I felt it was too easy for me. I wasn't getting a sweat or burning feeling like I was working out. So I raise it to 6, then 7, then 7.5. I stopped there. I was really working a sweat now and I checked my heart rate. It was between 170 to 180 the entire time I was walking for 30 minutes. Wow I felt like I had a really good workout. I could really keep going without feeling like I have to stop. I don't think I can do 10 yet. But I'm going to get there. I don't want to overwork myself when I don't have a personal trainer watching me and making sure I don't injure myself. At least these people on the show had their trainer to check on them.
I also noticed the trainers making them do exercises that focus on their cores. The part where u had to hold yourself up by your arms and toes to strengthen your core. That's hard. I know it is because I tried it when I was in yoga class and I didn't even last 2 minutes. It's definitely a core thing. I need to work on that again.
I've been interested in the Winsor Pilates program and I ordered a DVD from amazon.com for a cheap price to try it out. I don't want to spend a whole lot of money for something I don't know if it will work or not. So I'll let you know how that goes.
The scale is going down to 141. I haven't seen that number for quite some time. I hope it keeps going down and get me back to that goal of 139 which was last April. I can't believe how long it takes me go back to that. I'm determined to get there and I know I will.

Good job!
I enjoyed last night's BL episode too. Great to hear the scale is going down for you!!
You definitely should work on your core strength. I've been working with my trainer for the last 6 months on my core and I am definitely getting stronger and have so much better balance than ever before. You're talking about the Plank pose - where you hold yourself up with your toes and forearms. That is a killer move! I think I'm up to about a minute 15 secs now, although most of the time I do high plank low plank - move from forearms to hands and back down again for a minute. It kills!!
You should also try interval training on the treadmill - go up to a 10 incline for a minute, then back down to 7 for another 2 minutes, back up to 10 for a minute, etc. Speeding up and slowing down your heart rate is great for burning fat.
Let me know if you have any questions - I can share insights from my trainer.
I also like the gadget they wear on their arms so their trainers can track their progress. I also thought it was a hoot when Jillian referred to the other trainers as Ken & Barbie - too funny!
They work out hours upon hours upon hours, no job, no family, etc for the time they are there. I could do that kind of weight loss too under those circumstances. Just remember that.
I also ordered a DVD from Amazon on Pilates. I do like it, but I have a hard time doing it. I know, no pain, no gain. I will admit that it bothered my lower back a bit so I've switched to riding my bike on the weekends instead of walking or Pilates. Hadn't been on a bike in years and am loving it! My muscles finally feel like they are getting a work out.
