I have to pat myself on my back for overcoming temptations twice at McDonalds. The only time I ever go to McDonald is for an Egg McMuffin when I am traveling in the air or on the road. It's a treat to myself that I allow myself to have. Sometimes I have their $1.00 sundae and share it with my daughter.
Last week, I was stuck with my friend and the 5 kids. I would ride in the minivan with her all day while we would do these errands to drop off the kids at sport, school, and shopping. At the end of the day, we're so tired and no time to cook dinner together, we chose to go to McDonalds. I'm really glad to see that McDonald have the classic grilled chicken which is healthier than a quarter pounder. I was soooo craving for that pounder but I just ignore it and chose the chicken. By checking my weight the next day and see that it stayed the same helped me to stay committed on choosing healthier food when we're out.
My friend chose a double cheeseburger and a McChicken sandwich. She thought my sandwich looked really good and I asked her why not order that instead? She wished she did. I realized at that moment that sometimes we order with our stomach instead of our head. We have to learn to control our choices by using our head, not our stomach. I also realized that it was a bad habit of mine and I need to practice using my head more. So I decided to make this post to remind myself whenever I come back here to reread my posts. :) I hope it helps you too.

I Love...
Big Macs, but they don't love me. For the rare times I take my kids there, I always end up with a sore tummy. Kudos to you for choosing a healthy alternative!
Thanks for stopping by my blog. St means Stones. It's a British thing. There's 14lb in every stone. I might change my thing to show in ponds though as that is what everyone else seems to e using.
A few weeks ago while on a road trip, in a moment of weakness, I went to McDonalds. My husband ordered a Double Cheeseburger and I chose a Chicken Club, figuring it was healthier. Wrong! The cheeseburger was 440 calories while the chicken sandwich was 660 (or so)!! It wasn't even that good. I should have stuck with the dbl cheeseburger!
Oh, and I loooooove those sundaes! Haven't had one in YEARS, though! I mean like 20 years!!! Love them!
... their filet 0' fish sandwich is "only" 7 pts without the mayo/sauce LOL!! I like those, but it's the fries that call out to me. I guess a small order isn't "bad" but still!!
Good for you!!
Thanks for visiting my blog - my son is in the prep school, we were at the back to school meetings the other night with the teachers. So far so good.
