My Friends
Wow, I see several changes on here since I've been here the last time. Time to get back in the blogging mode.
I'm going to make September my month to get back on track because I am not going out of town at all this month and there is no major holiday that will interfere with my diet and fitness plan. October will be a different story. I will be going out of town 3 or 4 times in a month.
I recently met up with some friends I haven't seen in a while. I was shocked when I saw my husband's friend. When he left his wife, he was weighing almost 300 lbs. He was honest and said he actually weighed 280 lbs. I did remember him gaining more and more weight since he married this girl.
A year later after he left her, he weighs 205 lbs! He looks great! I asked him what's his secret and what did he do? He told me that he followed The Abs Diet plan by eating more proteins, etc. So I've been looking into that plan. I requested the book online at my library and it's on hold for now. It has been checked out at every library branch in Orlando. So that tells me this book must be good if so many people want it. Once I get the book, I will try it out and see if it helps me.
My husband's friend looks really good and he got a really nice pretty girlfriend now. He looks so much happier now and he got a new job with a good salary. Things are going really well for him. I see a big difference in him after he left his wife. They were not very happy together and had a lot of problems.
On the other hand, my friend who had the hysterotomy is struggling to lose weight big time. I didn't know how important our ovaries are for us to lose weight and protect our heart. The estrogen hormones are what protected us from gaining weight, protecting our heart, bones, and brain. She had gained 40 lbs since the surgery and she's struggling to find ways to lose the weight off. I feel bad since this is all new information for me. I'm 40 lbs less than her and we were weighing the same before she had her surgery. She is going through early menopause at the age of 29 and she gets these hot flashes all the time. The positive thing is she is no longer in pain and has more energy than before. She is able to do more things with her children which she enjoy doing now. We're just worried about her gaining this weight so fast that we don't want to know what will happen in the long run if it continues this way.
She also had a cochlear implant in July to help her hear for the first time. I don't usually mention often that I am deaf and I wear a hearing aid but that is me. My friend has been severly deaf all her life and never heard a sound before in her life. She is hearing everything for the first time since she had the implant. She never knew that water makes sound, your footsteps is noisy, even the keyboard! We were comparing what we can or can't hear with my hearing aid and her implant. It's almost the same and it's cool to ask each other, do you hear that? What's that sound? Etc. It's a whole new world for her now. So there are some good and bad things happening at the same time with her.
As for me, I wanted to get back in track with exercising last week, but for some reason, I woke up one morning with a really stiff neck. I tried to turn my head and the next thing I know, I felt a crack in the back of my neck. It hurted so bad that it hurts to turn my head sideways. The pain would go all the way down to my backbone. I was constantly getting tinnitus ringing in my head that gave me a headache. I have my hearing aid off most of the time because the ringing would come back each time I turn it on. It's driving me nuts. I finally took some advil over the weekend and it has lessen the pain but the ringing is still there. I'm hoping it will go away soon before I go insane.
Well it's time for me to get my butt moving out of this chair and off the computer. I'm barely burning any calories just sitting here all day and I hope everyone is well. I will comment on when I can.
