Google Reader and Fitday

I decided to try out the Google Reader and I love it. So I've been updating and making changes to my needs since yesterday.

I also have been using Fitday to count calories. I wanted to see  how much calories I was consuming on a regular day when I ate healthy food. I do keep it in normal range from 1400 to 1600 which Fitday recommends me to use as for my weight loss. I also like the pie chart that shows me how much carbs, protein, and fat I'm taking in. I noticed that I'm taking in too much carbs and not enough protein. I don't have a problem with fat. I'm not sure how much protein I should have a day and I'm searching for that. If any of you know how much protein we should be taking for our weight loss, I'll be happy if you let me know.

I did my running on the treadmill yesterday and I made a goal that I would do 15 minutes of running. I did 15 minutes, but not 15 minutes straight. I wish I could do that but I can't just yet. I was able to run 6 minutes straight before I had to stop and catch my breath. That was the longest I can do. Once I regain my energy, I was able to continue for another 5 minutes, walk and then run 3 minutes, walk, then down to the last 2 minutes run to equal 15 minutes of running. At least I made my goal. I will continue to do this until I do 15 minutes straight.

It was really hot here yesterday. The temperature was 84 degrees but the real temp feeling according to weather.com is 96 degrees! My friends and I were at the playground with the kids and we were sweating buckets. We decided to go to the pool next time. My poor daughter burned her legs on the slide from the hot sun. But the kids still had a good time on the swings.

I will be going out of town this weekend to Texas to visit my stepson. We're leaving Saturday morning and be back on Tuesday night. I know we are bringing our laptop with us, so I may just be able to blog and check on all of you but just not as much. I'm so looking forward to Memorial Day weekend where we get to go to Sarasota, Florida. I love the beaches there and the ocean is beautiful there.

LOVE IT!

I love my Google reader.  It saves so much time.  I'm glad you did it!  It takes a little time to set up, but it is SOOOO worth it.

It sounds like you are really progressing with your exercise routine.  You'll be back your college fitness level VERY soon!

Running....

I can help you get to running 15 minutes straight.   You can either try the C25K at www.coolrunnings.com OR you can slooooooow down. 

The way that I am able to run 15 minutes straight is at a 4mph pace.  So to make it that long, I have to be at a slow jog.  However, you will be able to increase to 4.1 and 4.2, etc, to get your pace higher and run longer at faster pace.  So even if you have to start by slowing it down to 3.8...then do that...but just run the whole time and don't stop.  You will be able to do it in no time...if I can at 180whatever, you can do it too!!  Try that for me tonight, okay????

Protein

I'm not exactly sure if this is correct, but according to this website (after putting in all my stats) it said I should eat around 25 grams of protein a day.  Maybe your results would be different.  Glad to hear you are also using FitDay!  Isn't it great?  It helps me immensely.

Hiya Lauren, what a great comment you left me. LMAO on what your brother said!  All I know is that I'm thankful I don't have to get my license renewed until 2009 and when I do, I can do it online. The only reason my mom couldn't is because she had hers suspended. That wont happen again- not if I can help it. So anyways, I hope your tiny tot is ok b/c she burned her little legs on the slide. Also, I hope you have a great time In Texas! I hope you take pics, I love pics. Also how are you doing on the water? Hope you have a great Friday!!!  TGIF!!!!
