BBC
Lately I've been watching "You Are What You Eat" on BBC America. On the show people change their diets with the help of a holistic nutritionist as well as exercising. The nutritionist devises a plan for each individual based on the nutrients they are lacking. Lots of fresh veggies, fruits, and good fats, nuts and seeds. On average most of the people lose about two and half stones or 31 pounds in the first eight weeks. The only thing is the nutritionist, Jillian MacKeefe, is pretty harsh. She uses some shock tactics like showing people what they actually put in hot dogs.
Have any of you seen the documentary "Super Size Me"? I heard about it when it first came out but didn't get a chance to see it. I met someone at a party who saw it and hasn't gone into any fast food restaurant since. I'm lucky I live in a rural area and have to drive at least 25 minutes to get fast food.
So how am I doing? Well Monday was great, lots of water, exercise and portiion control, Tuesday, exercise, water, not so good on the portions, Wednesday no water, only Coke, no exercise and out of control eating, same for Thursday and today. If I had stuck to the plan...but let's not dwell on shoulda, coulda but on the here and now. Tomorrow will be better and next week I hope to post a loss because I notice I have been hovering around 175 almost since I started on EP.

I've been watching, 'You are what you eat' on BBC. It's great, isn't it? Disgusting at times, though. I've seen Supersize Me. You've got to see it. It's an eye-opener. I know the book, "Fast Food Nation" was something that helped me for a while. I have the audiobook. Listened to it twice in the car. It keeps me from wanting fast food once you find out the smells and tastes are created in a lab. The movie, however, didn't do much for me. The book is much better.

Thats kinda funny
I saw your first sentence and thought to myself "I need to hook her up with Kache!" LOL But I see Kache already found you! :) We went through the whole Fast Food Nation and Super Size Me thing together. Although, I have not seen the show you mention on the BBC.
A farm widow, huh? What do you call a wife who's husband works from home and only goes into the office twice a week? Suffocated? LOL I guess the grass is always greeener.
Take care and thanks so much for the comment on my blog! :)

Hey stranger!!
Thanks so much for the email!! I need that kind of kick in the pants ~ I have been having some health concerns lately... unexplained dizziness which kinda worries me... so I've been to the doc a few times over the past 3 months ~ we're still trying to figure things out. But... it is also more reason to get my act together again!!
I was catching up on your posts ~ it sounds like you're getting into a groove, girl!! YOU GO GIRL!!!
