Before After

Almost Onederland

I can smell the ocean breeze, guys...it's sooo close now!  2.8 pounds to go...think I might try to step this up a little to get over the border!!  Wish me luck!!  I'm doubling up my veggies this weekend & exercising EVERY day...I've not been so good about it lately, but this almost-100's seems like a good excuse to hunker down to me :)

Thanks for the vote of confidence, DEAR

In the category of clueless hubby:

We have a credit card to Catherine's, which is a plus size only clothing store in this area.  It's been paid off for a couple of months now (yay us!).  I saw the card today, and decided to call to see if it was good at any other stores (some store cards are good at affiliated stores, you never know), since I'm now heading into the REGULARS, baby!  Unfortunately (or fortunately), the card is indeed ONLY good at Catherine's, not all of the Charming Shoppes.

WELL, I JUST fit my first REGULAR jeans the other day and at the rate I'm going I'll be out of plus completely in the next month or so.  OK!  Time to cut up the card then, right? I'm not buying new clothes just to outgrow them in a month.

So DH gets home (card's in his name) and I happily tell him about my conversation with Catherine's, ending by telling him, 'so, we can cut up the card & cancel the account now!'  He just stares at me.  I remind him that the card's paid off, thinking that's the confusion.  He still stares, looking befuddled.  Finally he starts asking, 'well, what's their smallest size? Wouldn't you still fit a 14W?  You were just in 22's, weren't you?'

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Caught my look, ran over to the grill to check on dinner.  Came in backpedaling a couple of minutes later...but talk about a vote of confidence - NOT!

MAN, I hate those deflating moments.

sixteen MEDIUM baby!!!

Oh, YEEEAAAH!

But let me catch you up, first:

My prize: a free month of membership tacked on at the end of my current sub.  So, a $50 payment I don't have to make in March of '07. Not too shabby! I'll take it!

BUT I didn't come update right away because we hopped down after the awards ceremony to pick up an assignment in Bound Brook (and hour from here) and DH left his lights on while we were inside (maybe 10 minutes, not forever)...but then we were waiting frikkin' 2 hours for the service club to come jump the darned thing. Got home after midnight, the babies STILL wide awake, then they woke up early...yada yada...all this while I'm recovering from Sunday.

You can TELL I didn't feel well Monday because I lost over a pound last week and apparently didn't even put it on the tracker! Got to correct that after I post this.

Now...you all Freecycle?  I can't keep up with my new sizes (oh, what a HORRIBLE (*coughcough*) problem to have...)so I posted a 'wanted' to Freecycle a couple of weeks ago - size 18 or 20 jeans. I wasn't sure what size I am now, I know I haven't fit 24s for a while and my 22s were swimming, so I figured either one.  Someone posted that she had 20's for me, so I went and picked up *5* pairs of Venezia 20W jeans - beautiful, didn't even look worn! Only, three of them were huge on me...and the other two fit, but very loosely (style differences I guess).  Within a week they were slipping down my hips too (and I've got HIPS.)

So this week I posted looking for 16 - 18 jeans & shorts.  I got a bite from a lady with some 16's, and picked them up this morning. Same condition - gorgeous. Two pairs of shorts I haven' tactually tried on yet (not quite shorts time here...maybe a week or two), but BOTH pairs of jeans fit.  And they're TWO different manufacturers, and they're not only 16's, they're 16***MEDIUM!!!**  MEDIUM, baby!  WHOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!  One is Jones Sport and one is Levi's.  I am just FLOATING!  I know that whatever I am in jeans is a size smaller than I'd be in dress slacks (I'm not into loose jeans or tight tailored slacks!) ... but HO, baby! It has been SOO long!

And how much does a pair of Jones jeans cost, anyway???

Happy week to all!!  And to all a good weigh-in!

here's hoping

Here's hoping a day of not eating/feeling crappy and nauseus/cleaning up the vomit of small children will at least give me a drop on the scale for weigh in tomorrow...

but more than that, hope I feel 'better' enough to deal with the day. At least I got sick on the weekend when DH was here...stinks that it was on Mothers' Day. Would have liked pix with the kids, the trip we originally had planned...

hope I'm up for the 'results party' at the fitness club tomorrow, where I get whatever-my-prize-is from the "I lost it" contest.

*sigh*

BIG Time Loser - that's me!

OKAY...so I got a letter in the mail today from my gym:

Dear Lynn Anne,

Congratulations to "Our BIG Time Losers" Participants of the "I Lost It" at Results Fitness Weight Loss and Inches Off Contest.

And an extra special "Congratulations to the Winners."

(lists names of winners - including ME with 11.25 lb loss for 2nd place in TOTAL WEIGHT LOST)

WOW!! The total Weight Lost was 108.5 pounds. The total Inches Lost was 212 inches.

Everyone is invited to Our Success Party"...We will be giving the winners their prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. There will also be healthy snacks and beverage."

etc., etc.

Well THAT's pretty cool, huh? A little last minute, but since I'm free (oh yeah - it's this coming MONDAY!) - 'sokay by me!  I wonder what the prizes are - they have to be halfway decent if they'r awarding them in person...they wouldn't assemble people for, say, a bookmark, right?

Here's hoping :)  Cash would be good...LOL!  Gilded tape measures?  Trophies of little fat people standing on scales?  What do you think?  Oh, the possibilities...

Live and lose

Yay, I'm down a pound and a half!  Comes from Passover again I think - the holidays' been over for weeks now, but we still haven't restocked everything we cleared out...so when I want to EAT there's no flour to bake with, no butter to slather on anything, no...ANYTHING except for carrot sticks and coffee! LOL

Yes, I realize this means mostly that we need to go buy food - I have kids to feed, too! :)  But nice side effect on MY behalf!

Non Scale Victory of the week here - or at least of the day - I was noticing the last few days that when I put my hands on my waist (you know, like hands on your hips pose), there's VERY little roll left..  Anyone identify with me on those rolls? The last time I lost them I think I was in the 190's (my low adult weight is 193, which I hit in 1995 (!) )  ... so it makes sense, since I've got that in sight by now.  A cool thing to notice! I would have thought it was a figment of my imagination if I hadn't ALSO lost the weight this week - some how that proves to me that the spare tire is really on its way out! :D

Second place!

Hey, they finally tabulated the results!  I was nowhere  NEAR being the top inches-loser...even third place was over 20 inches, to my 11! LOL  But I did come in SECOND in the 'pounds lost' category!  First place was 12.5, I was 11.25, and third was 11 even.  Close!

Of course, when we asked the lady running the contest what the prize was - first three places in each category were advertised as prize-winners - she had NO idea.  Um...okay. I guess I'll call back today??

Either way - I'm satisfied!

Now I need to get myself back on track and start heading downwards again. I've been hovering a few weeks here, having gotten off my gym schedule & starting to not be so good about what I eat.  Gotta turn this into some kind of motivation! Wish me luck!

(And wish me a prize soon! LOL)

I Lost It - my results

Well, I don't know if I managed to be in the top 3 in either of the categories (inches-off or pounds-off) or not, but I don't think these numbers sound too shabby.

Since the beginning of this challenge on February 27, I lost

11.25 pounds, and

11.05 inches (measured in a few places & added for a total)

The girl didn't seem too impressed with the inches - she said some people lost a LOT of inches - but that she thought I lost a lot of weight.  So here's hoping!  My goal was to be one of those top 3 in each because that's who would be walking away with some kind of prize.  Wish me luck! Not sure if we'll know the results tomorrow or after the weekend.

wish me luck tonight!

Tonight's the last night of the I Lost It contest at Results Fitness - wish me luck. I will NEED it! Though by my calculations I've lost about 10 pounds in the last 8 weeks, I can't judge well what their scale will show - both of these weigh ins are at night after food, with clothes, etc...plus I'm being measured for inch-loss and 'body fat analyzed' also. And I haven't BEEN there the last 2 weeks - last week was crazy & we said we'd make up for it this week, since our schedule was so open with dh being off work for vacation...THEN we got strep throat. So have I untoned the muscles that were toned?  *sigh*  So like I say..wish me luck!  My goal is one of the top 3 places in either the inches-off or the pounds-off categories.  No clue what the prizes are, but I know that the top 3 in each category do win *something*.

Off to weigh in!  Tataa!

Strep Throat

So for the first 35 years of my life, through teaching and roommates who got it 4x a winter, I avoid strep throat neatly.  THIS week, DH decides I've gone long enough.  YUCK. I hate this!  Maybe in the long run I'll lose a pound over it, since my throat is so sore I can't finish eating ANYTHING I start - OWWWW!! - but I hate this!  Any time I've been sick on antibiotics before this, I start feeling better after 2-3 doses of the antibiotics, and 'all better' in maybe 3-4 days, then just finish out the pills to be safe. Well, this is day 3 for the antibiotics already and my throat is STILL waking me up in the middle of the night because it's so sore, it STILL hurts just to drink the juice I take the pills with, and I still feel like sitting at the comp typing is such an effort I can only do it for a few minutes at a time before lying back down.  HATE THIS!

Whine, whine. This is my husband's week off from work...which I *guess* means I have help in the house, but it also means the first few days of the break have been wasted by being sick. Oh, and this past Saturday - day 2 of my infection - was the day I was SUPPOSED to be auditioning to sing the National Anthem for our local ballclub.  Great timing, huh?

Lost a lot last week and was pretty afraid it was a fluke and would go right back up this week, but looks like i've maintained - GOOD!  This is the week of the month my bloat-weight generally comes off, so next week should be a little loss too. Crossing my fingers anyway!

I want to catch up to my skinny-minny husband now (he's now under 200), we're less than 10 pounds apart...but I'm working on breaking that 200 barrier myself first.  Then maybe I'll redouble efforts to catch him! LOL

Hope you're all having a good week.
