full full full
Had an annoying runaround day for the most part - including a longer than expected visit at a potential kindergarten for ds for next year - and feel like I got very little accomplished.
On the food front, however - feel SOO full, still barely hit my 'points' for the day and that included 2 mcdonalds cookies and ten ginger snaps. Yikes! At least the rest of the day was mostly fruits and veggies!! It's really amazing how much food 37 points actually IS...things will seem quite different when the weight starts going off and the points allowed drops, I guess. So far so good!
Baking a loaf of rye bread right now...will definitely need a slice with butter, tha twill have to come from my floating-points for the week!

hi again!
Have had another baby since last time I was here - 6 weeks ago, Franklin (called Franklin, Frankie or Frank, depending on whim :) ) -- my husband's health has gone downhill since then (sleep apnea worse, new diagnosis of diabetes, one more week in the hospital last October) -- and I have been getting my head back on right - lol. So I started Weight Watchers online to remind myself how to watch what I eat the right way, and since I'm nursing I should have faster weight loss than I would otherwise (even given the 'extra points' for nursing), so I'm looking forward to that.
Need a new scale, though - have been checking my weight at the pediatrician's office, but after the 2 month appt the baby doesn't have for 2 more months after that, and I'd rather be able to weigh every week or two to keep myself on track!
Don't belong to a gym anymore (time/distance issues) so need to work out ways I can really get a good workout in with the lovely distraction of 3 kids around the house...hoping for a better summer this year though, dh got summer school this year so we should have more time with him here .. which SHOULD get me that break to be able to work out a little. We'll see!

trackers
Isn't there a way to do more than one tracker now? I've lost something like seven pounds this week but it shows the weight GAIN from last year instead...is there a way to change that without deleting my 'history'?
Weight's coming off ok even without me doing MUCH different except moving - which is scary, tells you how much I've been eating & how little I've been moving to have been going UP.
Have a good weekend everyone.

Exercise of some sort or another
I BOWLED yesterday. God it felt good to DO something with my body. Used to be a big bowler, quit when we married 'for a year to save money' then never found the $$ again. So now we have little ones who are just old enough to try it themselves, and we found a bowling alley where games are 1.50 from 9-12 on Sunday mornings (we're Jewish so our services are Saturdays, not Sundays) - hoping to make it a habit now! As long as I don't get back into 'bowing alley food' I'm good.
Decent food day yesterday till we missed lunch and ate a lot (excuse: combo lunch & dinner) when DH grilled in the afternoon. (Yes it was 43 degrees outside). I like when he grills because it's just the food then. When he cooks in the house he tends to use too much olive oil on everything - and I love olive oil, just hate the calories it must be adding to all the veggies and such. So, grilled chicken & a small burger..but then since all we'd had was meat I ended up munching later. included in the munching, 2 pcs bread toasted with cheese. And a pat of butter each. What's with me and the toast with fat on it lately? Have to get the butter back out of the house - that's always been my worst weakness. But now I'm baking snacks for the kids (I tend to make 'mini muffins' for ds to take to prek)I need it for some of the recipes. Both of the kids are on the skinny side, and ds is a picky eater to boot, so I need their food to be a little more calorie dense till ds starts eating a better variety again...I know it's a phase, but I don't get the only-eating-five-foods thing at all!
So. Wish me luck keeping true ALL day today instead of just the first 2/3. Started off with rolled oats oatmeal with a few raisins & blueberries in it. Good start, right? Now where's that coffee....?

so dh makes breakfast
A HUGE egg salad sandwich. Which most likely means mayo (I didn't ask :) )...plus two big pieces of bread. Guess I'm eating fruit the rest of the day. ekk. If only I could find my bowling ball I'd get some exercise this morning...WHERE is my stupid ball?

there are two me's running around...
Weird. Yesterday I came on here and couldn't log on to save my life. Thought my account had been deleted when it seemed to not be accepting my requests for a password lookup, so I started a new one. Yesterday I weighed in at 244.6.
Today I log in..and here's my OLD account. Hm. So I guess my blog from yesterday is floating around cyberspace now. *sigh*
Gained weight, depressed, stressed, can't get to the gym anymore & don't know how to lose this because exercise is what sets me right. When I do weights (and I don't do free weights - machine weights) I feel better, lose weight, don't want to eat.
When I don't exercise, I eat.
Yesterday I ate *less* though I added toast with butter (2) at the end of the night. Come on, what was the point of that except sabotage? *sigh*
What else? Pray some of this depressing weight comes off quickly.

hey hey
Thanks to everyone who checked up on me the last couple of months. Gawd, what a horrid summer. Worked 3 jobs, no time for the gym AT ALL, had to get food from a food pantry for a month - oh, man. Basically caused by my DH's lack of good summer job he's had for years, because after his heart attack last Nov. he's unable to physically do it anymore. Had no idea how hard it was to make ends meet with jobs that 'seem' to have a decent per-hour -- 4 jobs between to two of us, ranging from $8 to $16/hour, and we couldn't even make the mortgage payment one month WITH assistance from a local agency.
ARGH!
So life is totally back to normal now, except that instead of being a SAHM I work 7 days a week outside of the home PLUS watch my kids full time - DH watches them when I work on weekends, and they come with me during the week. The extra money is good - saving up for next summer so we NEVER have to go through this summer again.
But I haven't found any time to get to the gym. And it's killing me. I've gained a LOT of weight, I feel like a slug - I just got a wakeup call yesterday by taking www.realage.com quiz -- have you heard of this? Go do it! IT takes an inventory of your lifestyle, health things, etc. etc. and tells you how old you are compared to how old your body is via how it's being treated. I'm 35.6 years old. My real age is 40.8. My husband, who's 36, got a 'real age' of 48.6. And everything they say seems to be pretty much dead-on.
Good news for me is my 'prediction' is that I can have a real age of 29.something in three months if I take my health into my hands right away...something I need to do again, STAT.
So finally, after a too-long hiatus, I'm back on track...not sure what my path is at the moment, but I know it's going to include more meal planning and excercize for starters. Think I'm heading out for a multivitamin too.
Have a great day all, & wish me luck!

Just a SUPER quick update - life's been falling on me the last couple of weeks, hence the no-update. Sorry, pray for us, and esp that some of these job interviews pan out SOON and in a good-paying way.
Scale jumped 5 pounds 2 weeks ago, held, held, held, zoomed back down a couple of days ago - am SO close now, wihs me luck on that oto! Haven't been eating as much but haven' tbeen eating as WELL either if you KWIM.
Hopefully back to normal soon & catching up with everyone.

oh oh OH!
MAN was it tough to weigh in this morning! I couldn't find the scale - turns out DH had spilled something on the floor last night, so decided to stand it UPRIGHT all night to dry out.
Um.
So this morning it was ALL over the place. All of the weights it gave me were less than last time...but within a 3 pound range! I usually weight 2-3 times - I want to see the same number twice. If it seems low, I'm looking for confirmation! If it seems h igh, I'm hoping it was a mistake :) So today - yikes. Finally settled on 201.8 (though I would have loved to claim the 200.2!!) because I did get it three times out of maybe 12 tries! Sure hope the scale settles down (and I do mean DOWN) by tomorrow AM :)
Getting SOOO close to those ONE hundreds. Oh, I want them! I worked on my lawn for another hour this morning and it's hard to eat a lot of heavy stuff in this heat - so here's hoping I pare down quickly!
I already know what my next goal will be - 193. 193 is my lowest adult-weight. I weighed it in 1995 and I look back at those pics and think MY how skinny I was! So here's aiming down past 200 then right down to 193 and beyond.
It is SOO hot today. Only 90ish outside, but the house is probably 10 hotter - a little heat trap we live in here, & only a couple of ceiling fans for relief - nice big windows but no breeze seems to reach us here.
Still, I'll take it! Summer here I come!

A GOOD tired
Man, am I tired. Whole-body-workout tired. And no trip to the gym, even. Fun day!
First my disclaimer - I hate shopping. I am NOT your stereotypical girl. I zoom through the changing room in 30 seconds flat, I run around and in and out and I'm done. And I rarely go clothes shopping unless I have a reason I HAVE to. I'd more happily jump on Freecycle for the casual stuff I normally wear.
But a great friend of mine is having her bridal shower in 2 weeks, and it just occurred to me a couple of days ago that I have NOTHING to wear. Gave away all my 'big' clothes and don't have much in the way of 'little' stuff..and nothing even the least bit' dressy.' So I admit I actually got excited about the clothes shopping - because I was heading to the MISSES department!
I tried on a bunch of stuff, figuring I'm a regular size 18...I had 16s and 18s both fit me (YAY!) though an equal number of 16s & 18s were way too small depending on the designer, who cares? Som fit! I ALMOST got a beautiful dark brown lace top on SALE for 9.99 (!)...but couldn't find pants to fit and I KNOW myself - if I don't buy it as an outfit, I'll never get a match and I'll never wear it. So I passed.
But it took SO long to try on adn find and whatnot with the 2 babies..I mean, DH was there, but we were chasing toddlers around at the same time. so it was a workout in itself, and we ended up leaving with no clothes for the shower.
But we DID make a purchase for me...a LAWNMOWER! Last year we had a flaky moonlighting lawn guy do it - we have a TINY little back lawn (no front lawn at all), and he did it cheap, but didn't show up most of the time, and with the tall grass I don't want the kids in there - we've got deer that cross through our lawn all the time and I'm not into INVITING the deer ticks onto them, KWIM? Basic precautions to be had. So last year they were barely in the yard at all.
HAd been asking around for a lawn guy but hadn't found one yet - grass taller than my almost-3-yo - but we walk past the mower section at Sears and lo and behold, a lawnmower for 79 bucks! Who knew you could get them that cheap? IT's a push mower, which is the kind I wanted (paranoid of gasoline and whirring blades with the little ones), and did I mention 79 bucks?? We bought it!! I mowed the lawn (takes FOREVER when it's so tall with a push mower...have to go over each section maybe 10 times to get it mostly cut LOL) for almost an hour (and DH was pulling the tallest by hand that whole time) and I felt so darned tired AND so exhilarated when we finished! WE've got about a third of the lawn to go - but hot dang, does it feel good to be mowing our own, saving money over the summer by not having to hired, and that EXERCISE and fresh air felt so danged good. Not to mention our lawn doesn't look like an abandoned lot anymore! (well, mostly - LOL)
I am so proud of us! And so tired! And so excited to go back and get it done tomorrow~! But first, I think we're checking out the beach club in town - meant to today, but took so long at Sears and wanted to mow as soon as we came home, DH took kids to the park a little while ago instead.
now, hopefully all this lawnmower-pushing takes care of my arms a little..one thing I noticed trying on the clothes in the new smaller (!!) sizes, was that my arms are a little disproportionally thick - clothes that fit fine across shoulders, bust, waist, hips, were sometimes tight on the arms. Time to tone up!
