Cleaning house!
Hey everybody! I have been getting rid of all of the junk food in my house. I gave all of my junk food to my students on Valentine's day. I also gave my pre made cookie dough to one of my co workers. Everything else I threw away. It has been difficult to eat the portion sizes so out they go. I can't allow anything to hinder my progress. Seven weeks have gone by this year and I have only lost 2 lbs. When I spoke to my class leader for WD about this she told me to go on a fast from these items for now then slowly add them back to my life. WD believes that all food is ok as long as we don't over eat them. I had lost 10 with them last year from November and December (yes I lost weight during the holidays!) So when the same things weren't working I was beating myself up. So My fast from junk food begins today. Saturday will be the day I can eat a portion of what I was craving. So if I was craving coconut cream pie and doritos, I'll by a small bag and a slice of it. If slices are not available I will have to bring the rest to work to give it to my co workers as a treat. Besides, it is better to give than receive.
The important thing is that I don't keep these things in my house. Because I don't need that temptation any more.
I have not been to my church for the last two weeks. I have been visiting the Remnant church (since they are the creators of WD). I have still been watching Lakewood on tv. Although I had heard this message before in person, seeing it again really hit home. Olsteen was talking about thinking positive and getting rid of all of the negative thoughts. So evryday I will say something positive about myself. I will even post it on the board. Today's thought is: I am beautifully and wonderfully made!
I know that I did not post a scripture last week. I was beating myself up about my lack of weight loss. This is the scripture that motivated me this week:
The Message Bible
Hebrews 12
4 -11In this all-out match against sin, others have suffered far worse than you, to say nothing of what Jesus went through—all that bloodshed! So don't feel sorry for yourselves. Or have you forgotten how good parents treat children, and that God regards you as his children?
My dear child, don't shrug off God's discipline,
but don't be crushed by it either.
It's the child he loves that he disciplines;
the child he embraces, he also corrects. God is educating you; that's why you must never drop out. He's treating you as dear children. This trouble you're in isn't punishment; it's training, the normal experience of children. Only irresponsible parents leave children to fend for themselves. Would you prefer an irresponsible God? We respect our own parents for training and not spoiling us, so why not embrace God's training so we can truly live? While we were children, our parents did what seemed best to them. But God is doing what is best for us, training us to live God's holy best. At the time, discipline isn't much fun. It always feels like it's going against the grain. Later, of course, it pays off handsomely, for it's the well-trained who find themselves mature in their relationship with God.
A lot of times I complain about that fact that I have to watch what I eat. Well God loves me so much that he disciplines me and won't allow me to overeat and be ok with it. He wants me to be all that I can be. The reason I feel guilty is because He wants me to eat small portions. God loves me and does not want me to be over weight.
Lets have a great week!

New week new beginnings!
Happy Sunday morning! This is the beginning of a new week. So let's start this one of grrrrrrrrrreat! Don't let any mistakes that you may have made get you down. Keep going and you will reach your goal.
Here is this week's scripture:
The Message Bible
Chapter 2
16 -17So don't put up with anyone pressuring you in details of diet, worship services, or holy days. All those things are mere shadows cast before what was to come; the substance is Christ....
20 -23So, then, if with Christ you've put all that pretentious and infantile religion behind you, why do you let yourselves be bullied by it? "Don't touch this! Don't taste that! Don't go near this!" Do you think things that are here today and gone tomorrow are worth that kind of attention? Such things sound impressive if said in a deep enough voice. They even give the illusion of being pious and humble and ascetic. But they're just another way of showing off, making yourselves look important.
Don't allow your diet to control how you feel or how your day is going to go. There are much more important things going on to worry about. When we make our diet the center of our lives, we tend to forget about the important things: health, strength, and our loved ones. I think this is why we get so down when we make a mistake. So this week I will not allow my eating to control my life. Yes I still plan to eat small portions but if I mess up I will look at all of the progress I have made and keep on doing my best.
We will do this!
