Last night was my official #1 Weigh In. It has been one full week since exercising and cutting back. I am thrilled to report a 2 lb weight loss. I am SO excited to see progress!!! I also went to the gym 3 days last week and walked a minimum of 25 minutes. I am so happy about all this!
I am continuing on with my list of things I won't miss....
#8 What about getting a good picture taken. I am so tired of trying to remember to tilt my head up a bit to avoid the massive double chin thing. While visiting my sister a group of us had our picture taken in a small room. Someone had to stand on the stair case to get everyone in the picture. That was the best picture of myself for a LONG time. Why? Because I was looking up at the person taking the picture. I won't miss having to look up just to get a half way decent picture.
#9 I won't miss taking lousy pictures 90% of the time either. I used to be a fairly photogenic person. That is what I used to hear anyway. Assuming that was true adding a hundred pounds sort of changes all of that.
On a happier note, did I mention that I lost 2 lbs.???
Oh, I added a small clip of my theme song on my very first post, entitled "The Tunnel". This way you can hear what I am humming during the day.

Hey Kimmie!
Thank you for coming by my blog and leaving a comment. I will put you in my friends too.
I have read all your posts and I was inspired and motivated. I love your list of things I won't miss. I may need to start something like that in my diet log. I agree with so many of the things you said. I have already found out that there are many people in the world that are going through this weight loss journey, but you are one of the first ones that has listed things like this. I was not altogether sure that others understood all the aggravation and stress that comes from being overweight. You gave me one more reason... or 9... to keep going.
As for the exercise thing... I had to get used to it to. I hope that you will come to like it because it makes you feel better as I have. I like to listen to music or pop something on TV when I do my stuff. Maybe that will help.
Good luck and keep up the good work. Have a good week and remember you CAN do this!
Just wanted to say thanks for the sweet comments on my blog. It's nice to know you're not alone on this journey. When we're fat I think we tend to go into hiding, physically and mentally and it's easy to forget that there are lots of other people out there going through the same things as you.
I know what you mean about trying to find exercise that's "fun". I do weight training 3x a week and walk on the treadmill 4-5 days a week, but none of that is fun! But I have noticed that as I've lost weight and built up my stamina that I can get involved with fun activities that I used to avoid. I recently bought my first bike in 25 years and my husband and son love to go on family bike rides now. Who would have thought!! I also swim more and go to the park more with my son.
One thing that helped me get started (when I couldn't last more than 20 minutes on the treadmill!) is a pedometer. If you haven't gotten one I highly recommend it. Get a good electronic one, usually only about 20 bucks. I got one that has software with it to track your goals and progress and it was about $30. (Omron brand at Amazon.com) Anyway, I found that it motivated me to just be more active throughout the day. I would set goals of a certain number of steps and would try to break them. I found myself looking for reasons to walk down the hall at the office or to park further away from the store just to get more steps in and break my goal!
Congratulations on your weight loss, and also on starting over again. I know how hard it is to keep trying! Good Luck!
You are doing such a wonderful job and you are focused!!! I love that song from "Third Day" and will listen to it when I'm exercising. You inspire me and I love your lists! I've really messed up so I've got to get out the ipod and listen to it while I exercise. It makes exercise so much better. Have a great week!
