After Thanksgiving Weigh-In
I am absolutely amazed at how well I did during the Thanksgiving holiday. I stayed on program for the most part. On Thanksgiving I ate my breakfast and snacks for the day but for lunch and dinner I improvised "Thanksgiving" food into my plan. For lunch I had about two cups of vegetables and a turkey sandwich while my sister and mother ate turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, etc. That night we had to go to my brothers house for dinner. There was food galore there but nothing tempted me enough to break my plan. Before going to my brothers I had a salad so I would not be going in starving to death. At the dinner I was able to find some vegetables and then had some more turkey. It might of not been the most perfect day on the plan but it is better than it would have been had I not been on Jenny Craig. I am proud of myself! I have never stayed on a diet through a holiday. Well, one down and two more to go.
On my weigh-in on Monday I lost 6 lbs!! I was thrilled beyond belief.

Hello and Welcome to my blog!!
Hi,
My name is Kathy and I joined Jenny Craig on Friday,November 5th. I officially began the program on Monday, November 15th. I am almost at the end of my first week and I must say that I have never been on a diet like this one before. With previous diets which included Weight Watchers, Atkins and many others; I always felt hungry between meals and sometimes right after meals. With Jenny Craig I am almost never hungry. When I do feel hungry it is true hunger that comes from not eating for a couple or so hours. I space my food out as 6 different meals a day so I never get hungry.
Some people may ask me why did I join Jenny Craig at this time of the year. Well, it just sort of fell into place for me. I was tired of eating fatty and sugary foods and feeling lousy. I also did it because it is becoming increasingly dangerous for me at my weight. I weigh (I least I think I do, because my scales were broken when I started) 455 lbs. I know, it is a lot. Some people at my size opt to have weight loss surgery but I have never liked the idea of having surgery to lose weight. It is an easy way out. I know for some that might not be the case but I knew that based on my history of binge eating that I would not do well having gastric bypass surgery. My cousin had it but it was effecting her health. I guess there is nothing wrong with it but as I said before I think it is a cop out. Besides losing the weight I don't think there are many benefits to the surgery. When you have the surgery you don't learn how to properly eat. You don't learn about proper nutrition that comes from following a healthy diet plan. That is why a lot of folks who have had the surgery gain the weight back.
Now off my soap box now. I look forward to sharing with you my trials and triumphs as the days progress.
